Love the thread title!

frazzled3ds Thu 14-Jun-18 18:23:41

Brilliant! Thank you smile

ISaySteadyOn Thu 14-Jun-18 21:24:02

Thank you! I still want to know if anyone agrees with me that Ethan was being a complete smeghead to Alicia when she was clearly upset.

Sairelou Thu 14-Jun-18 21:26:36

I agree with you ISay. I swear he's taking his "Be More Cal" motto a bit to far and needs to get back to being Ethan again.

QueenofmyPrinces Thu 14-Jun-18 22:17:45

I still have a soft spot for Ethan though!!

Do we still think something is going to come of his dalliance with Leanne? There was no mention of it in the last episode was there?

Estrelizia Fri 15-Jun-18 09:48:40

Every time Charlie appears I can't stop thinking about the actor's astromomical salary ,per inute of screentime it must rival Tom Cruise . C

Estrelizia Fri 15-Jun-18 09:49:04

Oops -typo -minute!

I still want to know if anyone agrees with me that Ethan was being a complete smeghead to Alicia when she was clearly upset.

I think he's emotionally stunted and unable to understand other people's emotional responses. As a consequence of both, he had a limited interpretation of Alicia's upset, and probably put it down to her having been 'unfaithful' to him and feeling guilty about it.

I just googled Derek Thompson's salary, Estrelizia. Couldn't resist it. It's listed as being in the £350-£399,000 bracket. I think I'll offer to look pained and put my head on one side for five minutes per episode for half that salary.

I have a soft spot for Ethan too which is why I hate it when he's being a prat.

HettySunshine Sat 16-Jun-18 19:50:38

Alisha's storyline is being dealt within exactly the same way rape and sexual assault storylines are always played out in soaps. She gets rid of all the evidence, nearly tells someone but then is interrupted in some way - in this case Ethan going to get wine and seeing Eddie's note, she'll carry on for a while and then breakdown and confide in someone - probably Bea. Then there'll be Bea trying to convince her to go to the police, then they'll either come across another victim or he'll be drummed out by the team.

I was really hopeful that she would tell Ethan last week but as soon as she mentioned the wine I knew she wouldn't.

I don't understand why Connie is seeking funding for a trauma theatre when the same hospital closed its trauma specialist centre so recently. It's as if things that happen in Holby are completely unrelated!

PaddingtonBearHardStare Sat 16-Jun-18 21:59:48

What with the parking fines and fish I wondered what I was watching tonight!!! I think I may be done with it shortly I have said this before though

frazzled3ds Sat 16-Jun-18 22:01:53

This evening's episode for the most part seemed to be some kind of 'carry on' type farce! That said, I did laugh at Connie and Elle getting drunk on mini bar gin and scoring the blokes .....

Hogtini Sat 16-Jun-18 22:16:40

Surprisingly loved the bits with Connie and Elle in the hotel room. The rest not so much - I know Casualty suspends reality but 3 staff havibg tike to pop off to a pet shop? Really? And everyone reading the paper and gawping at poor David.

TheRealKimmySchmidt63 Sat 16-Jun-18 23:32:35

What was that? I could've written a better episode

cheapskatemum Sun 17-Jun-18 13:15:42

Was Alysha raped, I thought it was consensual? I’m obvs on same emotional level as Ethan 😳!

Hogtini Sun 17-Jun-18 19:39:27

Not sure. All we know so far is that she didn't like it. Perhaps she is confused about consent herself.

Violetroselily Sun 17-Jun-18 21:23:38

I’m sure I read a press release that said she realises she didn’t consent and the story will last for around 6 weeks

I don’t think it’s developing very well, which is a shame because it’s an important issue that isn’t commonly on TV i.e most rape storylines involve violent rape or date rape whereas this storyline seems to be about withdrawing consent...just without making that clear to viewers 🤔

QueenofmyPrinces Sun 17-Jun-18 21:32:41

I have just watched Saturday’s episode and couldn’t believe how utter shite it was.

Well, apart from the hotel room antics with Connie and Elle!! It was so funny I had tears in my eyes from laughing!

I think the writers have messed up with their rape storyline because none of us even know what’s going on, Eddie isn’t even featuring in the episodes and they’ve turned Alysha into an unlikeable character. I can’t stand what they’ve done to her.

Violetroselily Sun 17-Jun-18 21:51:08

Here is the press release I saw...I wouldn’t say it contains spoilers but it’s quite clear what the storyline is meant to be

PaddingtonBearHardStare Sun 17-Jun-18 21:56:26

I just read the article then googled her when I saw her surname to see if she's related to Jill Halfpenny (she's Jill's niece) and she's almost unrecognisable with dark hair shock

PaddingtonBearHardStare Sun 17-Jun-18 21:57:22

Well that's an unfortunate clipping of the photo to just show her boobs but you can see her face in the full photo if you click it blush
