Thanks for the explanation about the key code. I thought she was trying random combinations!
I agree Connie is looking way too thin.

I've gone to watch another 2016 episode after posting that, and by chance it's one with Sam turning up and Jac popping up in Casualty to talk to him. It's pretty clear from what her interactions with Connie that something went on!

Oh I loved it.

When Connie was up and down in the loft with Ian I was like, hasn’t she ever seen Greys Anatomy?? Get out of the lift!!

MissEliza · 03/03/2019 22:52

No nothing happened between Sam Strachan and Jac because he wasn't useful to her career!

Interesting, MissEliza. There was a line from 2016 that made it sound like there had been. Was he keen?

They probably shagged in a linen cupboard at some point. She’s done that a few times.

Are we really supposed to believe that nobody thought using the lifts might just be a tad dangerous, given the current cyber attack/power outage?

The power hadn't gone at the point they got into the lift. I'm totally non-techy, but I struggle to understand how a computer virus could bugger up power for the entire hospital.

And how did Ruby get an unconscious man into her car?

So glad there was no Robyn, Jacob or Blake around for this episode. I agree, why didn't Ruby tell Gem that he'd packed up his stuff, hope he's OK.

Surely the only way Elle has Ric's number is because she was clinical lead for a bit and had to go to a few board meetings?

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 04/03/2019 06:52

Good point but she did have a little look on her face when she was asked about it.

I think it was supposed to imply that had had something going on

Ian has become so dull though. I don't want him to die but I'd quite like him to bugger off for a bit.

Report
SoupDragon · 04/03/2019 07:33

I thought that's what Elle's "look" meant but it could have been "I know what you're suggesting but do you really think that?"

FairfaxAikman · 04/03/2019 07:40

Didn't Elle have to take the morning after pill a while back? Alicia signed the prescription for her.

Report
SoupDragon · 04/03/2019 07:51

Yes, she did - I'd forgotten that. I don't remember it being linked to Ric at all though - not evenby a hint then or since. Was it when she was with the guy shoes pants Blake put chilli powder in or something?

Report
RedForShort · 04/03/2019 08:04

She did. Wasn't it a one-night stand? Dont think it was with a staff member.

Report
FairfaxAikman · 04/03/2019 09:08

I'm just putting two and two together here. She's obviously had a ONS/fling and was cadgy about being asked about Ric.

Didn't Elle have a relationship with that guy who had been a patent? Marty I think his name is. I think that's when she took the MAP. Anyway he's now swapped places with Ruby and is starring in Eastenders.

Just googled, he hadn't been a patient, his daughter had. They split because him and Blake didn't get on.

ie the same guy SoupDragon's on about.

I really, really want to see the director's cut, with full footage of Ruby getting Iain into her little car. That could be seriously good comedy. How on earth she managed it without inflicting significant injury to both of them, plus the convenient wheelie bins she would definitely have staggered into on her way out, I have no idea!

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 04/03/2019 10:47

BTW, in a 2016 Casualty episode, shown on Drama last Monday (after Iain was left on the point taking the pills), his colleague jokingly told him to "just kill himself now", when he described going to a garden centre to buy plants as "actually quite fun". It was a beautiful moment of slow burning prophetic irony, and a wonderful coincidence of timing!

(I probably need to get out more. I know. But not to a bloody garden centre, thanks.)

Did Ruby call an ambulance at any point?

Yes, seeing her drag the dead weight of a significantly larger man into her car would have been amusing to say the least!

Right, do I need to watch Holby tomorrow eve for storyline continuation? I'm normally Casualty only but don't want to miss anything!
