Hello Heather. Like the title Grin.

I've just discovered (from a friend) that Add Maths results are available on the parent portal, although the DCs don't get them till Thursday. The temptation to peek is almost overwhelming, but I am repeating the mantra "it's her result, not yours" and trying to distract myself!

(Also I think school may have screwed up on data protection by doing this?)

Thanks Heathers for the new thread and for providing the mystery of who you were previously.....

Chicken I would be asking DC if she wants to know result and then you can both look together, if she doesn't then I might be taking a sneaky peak but not sure I would be able to keep it a secret Blush

Ooh! A new thread - and great title!
Just read the end of the last one. @Sostenueto I really don't believe your dgd has done badly in English and I don't believe there can be that much change in the grade boundaries from last year, at least on English language, for her to worry. I know it's easier said than believed. I am heavily invested in her 9 for geography, mind you, as I know how much it matters to her!
DS is fretting about biology on the basis of one one-mark question. I've told him 1 mark won't make a difference so to stop thinking about it!

Can I join in. Feeling a bit nervous but wouldn't tell dd. Her much wanted sixth form place is dependent on her results.

BlueBelle the trouble is, she's already said she's glad they are waiting till Thursday, because she thinks Add Maths will be the worst result and doesn't want to get it first. Personally, I think she's probably done a lot better than she thinks, but in my heart of hearts, I know I need to keep shtum about the fact she could look it up now.

Must admit I'm hoping one of her friends tells her, because it's so tantalising knowing it's just a couple of clicks away!

Also following on from the last thread, cblue, if your DD is equally able at everything but dyslexic and with no strong preference, then maybe she is better to stay clear if the arts/ humanities and do the subjects that she's more likely to excel at because they require less reading and writing (I.e. STEM)

The nerves are definitely kicking in now DS has admitted that he is a perfectionist so won't initally be happy on Thursday, says he will need a little time to himself to process and then all will be fineConfused......lets hope so!

Hello Theworld. In case you are wondering, you can put anything you like in your (travel, lidded coffee cup), because no-one can tell what's in there. Gin has been mentioned.

Things aren't good today but not because of DS and the GCSEs. DH told me when we were going to bed last night that he's added another 24 hours onto the visit to MIL's. He has a good reason, but it could've been avoided if he'd taken my advice last week and it was disappointing as I have been counting the hours until we got to leave.
So, things are a bit frosty here, and, of course, we have to hide the tension from MIL.

Thanks. We bought her trendy (and much too expensive) new school bag yesterday.
Gin might be in order.
I'm not sure either of us are going to sleep much Wednesday night.

Can I join you all?

Have been studiously ignoring the rapid approach of results day but after the epic meltdown last night I think it's time to get the armour out!

Dd swings between 'I hope I've got higher than my predicted' to 'I've failed them all' in the blink of an eye -it's going to be a long week!

Us parents and grandparents feeling the pressure now alright but our DC must be even worse! I don't ever remember feeling like this when I was waiting for O'level results or A level results! Why has things become so pressurised?
