These weren’t included in Boris’s list but are things affecting me currently:

Car due for mot Friday (need to wait til then for pay day). Need it to get to my essential job.

Hermes/other courier deliveries - I’ve sent loads of stuff this weekend that I sold on EBay. Non essential. Old baby toys. They’re waiting to be delivered to my buyers. Will they still be delivered or should I start refunding?

I don't know, and also want to know if non-food and medical online retailers can still trade.

Online shopping will still be on

Just food and medicine though, or random stuff?

I want to know if walking the dog is classed as my exercise!

I have no answer to your questions - would have thought car MOT essential if you need it for your job, unless they are being suspended.

Mine is ds1's paper-round. Getting their paper through the door might be the highlight of an elderly person's day but at the same time it is being out of the house for a non-essential purpose.

We don't know about my husband's work either. A warehouse for an online retailer. Are those open or not? He only has HR number and is due in at 6am

Yes walking the dog is classed as your exercise. It's the very definition of it.

I have a slow puncture on my car that I have booked in to have fixed tomorrow morning. I hope that’s allowed as without a car I can’t get food (the nearest shop is four miles away and no public transport).

I want to know if walking the dog is classed as my exercise!

Arguably, that’s the dog’s exercise!

@BarbedBloom I'm presuming he can't do his work from home so yes, he should go into work.

Strange question but we have fish which need regular water changes. Will my DP still be allowed to get water for them? He uses a machine on an industrial estate so won't come into contact with anyone else.

Can we go out for a run (alone not in a group)

Report
BreathlessCommotion · 23/03/2020 20:56

Well I would go for a bike ride for exercise. I can't get enough speed to get my heart rate up on a dog walk (cos she's sniffing etc).

So I have to choose between that and the dog. And dog needs 3 walks a day.

So those who can’t WFH will still be going into work?

What about building merchants?

So anyone who can't work from home can travel to work then (obviously not those who work in restaurants and shops etc)? Or only key essential workers can travel to work? It's not clear enough

We have horses in the next town over, they'll need feeding - surely this will still aloud? Can we hack out as our exercise? It would only be two people from our household.

Building merchants round here are all closed from tomorrow anyway. They also stopped taking payment on account as of last week.

I think they need clarify dog waking. Normally do a couple a day and go for a run. I’m guessing that is all too much. Just a walk with the dog is not really exercise.’

It doesn’t seem he’s shut factories and offices. He’s said they have to put conditions in where people maintain six foot apart if they can’t work from home.

It’s social interaction he has stopped basically.
