I felt very ill first, terrible chills, couldn't get warm, froze in fact, couldnt move, pain in lower lung, coughing up blood stained mucus

CV news on now

AutumnRose1 · 02/03/2020 19:30

Margot I stopped using the gym years ago because of that. My health has definitely improved with extensive hygiene measures I take, including telling colleagues to move away from me 😂

alloutoffucks · 02/03/2020 19:30

Also with the virus a runny nose as a symptom seems to affect mainly children. It is a rarer symptom in adults.
The symptoms of coronavirus are more like pneumonia than a cold. They do feel very differently.

poshme · 02/03/2020 19:31

@keynote I think if you're at home, not meeting other people, then you can reduce handwashing to the normal times- after toilet, before eating r preparing food.

User1775564212 · 02/03/2020 19:31

Anyone have any idea how on earth they are going to cope in the US? With the president initially claiming it was a hoax, 30 million without health insurance and charging people for tests?

EveLevine · 02/03/2020 19:32

@CrunchyCarrot Amazon have a 12 month supply of Ceterizine for £6.25 available on prime next day delivery. I bought some when I was prepping for Brexit - it’s the brand they sell in the pound shops.

usernameishistory · 02/03/2020 19:33

It is being contained!

SansaSnark · 02/03/2020 19:33

I'd be a lot more concerned if I lived in the USA right now, I have to say.

SisterAgatha · 02/03/2020 19:34

My hands are so dry at the best of times from washing them constantly (I have to for my MH) they are so sore right now from all the washing. I’m considering disposable gloves for outside instead.

usernameishistory · 02/03/2020 19:35

Levine You are the first to raise this that Ive seen, and I think it's an emminently sensible route to go to avoid over reaction from immune system.

PotholeParadise · 02/03/2020 19:36

In other good news, I am now damn sure I don't have Coronavirus. Grin All the suspected local cases have tested negative, so there is obviously a funny bug that causes symptoms like Coronavirus (dry cough, shortness of breath, zero snot, bit of a fever, etc) and I probably have that. I am going to continue to isolate myself as much as possible, just because I don't think anyone needs the anxiety of catching something like that in the current climate!

Furfockssake · 02/03/2020 19:36

@usernameishistory - contained where? I haven't heard a single government say we are going to stay in the containment phase.

AbsentmindedWoman · 02/03/2020 19:37

Disney World should be closing, I believe one of the cases is about 30 miles north of Orlando.

usernameishistory · 02/03/2020 19:37

All the cases in Brighton....stopped. contained

persin · 02/03/2020 19:38

It can be paused by closing schools

HalfaMillion · 02/03/2020 19:38

I’ve stopped going to the gym for a while - still exercising but ooh the fresh air and in the house.

Kids showered straight after school today which meant that I wasn’t as stressed about their lack of soap at school. They usually change after school and then shower before bed so it’s not much of a change but makes me feel happier

HasaDigaEebowai · 02/03/2020 19:39

guardian saying that only 35% of people are taking extra hygiene precautions like increased hand washing according to a yougov survey. 54% aren't taking any precautions.

and these are the people we expect to be trusted to self isolate..

HasaDigaEebowai · 02/03/2020 19:40

thread is about to die

babychange12 · 02/03/2020 19:40

What a contact tracer does in Singapore

Finding it so interesting the way they deal with it there, so much more transparency

They have to submit information within 2 hours to the Ministry of Health!

usernameishistory · 02/03/2020 19:41

Showering upon return indoors is something we've adopted, and hanging clothes in a separate space (like coats I mean), and sets of clothes for indoors.

ofwarren · 02/03/2020 19:42

#Algeria reports 2 new #coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 5

Furfockssake · 02/03/2020 19:43

@usernameishistory - it may be that the one case in Brighton has been contained. But there are more cases where it's not even clear how the people got infected. More people travelling with the virus. The Government is not expecting the virus to be contained here in the long run, and neither is the WHO.

Iraq’s healthcare system is in crisis. There’s a shortage of drugs and the medical staff to administer them. See the full @specialreports story: t.co/wKEhuMxEOw by @aaboulenein @readelev t.co/TDjaZbcDBu
