Just as the title says.

Noah Donohoe disappeared coming home from school, his body was found in a storm drain without his clothes.

His mother can not get answers on why the police decided, immediately that there was no four play and us being blocked from seeing 4 files by the police.

She says On the day Noah was found, before Noah was formally identified, the Police did a media release stating that there was ‘No Foul Play’ involved.I ask, if the police are so sure that ‘No Foul Play’ was involved, why are the police now trying to stop me, as Noah’s mummy, getting four files of information on Noah’s investigation?

Surely I am not unreasonable to think this isn't ok and that most of use would want to know what had happened to our child?

This is an overview of what has happened so far.

Yanbu. I remember this story at the time. I didn't realise his family were in the dark about his death.

if people are mentioned in those files then no, there should be no access as per GDPR rulings

Thank you so much for starting this thread, OP. Despite having experienced my own tragedies in life, including as a mother, I can't even begin to imagine what Noah's mummy Fiona has been going through since he disappeared and what she is still going through to this day. I have been thinking a lot about Fiona, especially as it is Mothers Day tomorrow. Fiona should be spending tomorrow with Noah. At the very least, she needs to know the truth about what happened to her precious boy.

Tomorrow is a very poignant time.

My own mum died in December. So I am definitely thinking of those separated from their mothers or children.

Mums death nearly ended me. Can't imagine how I would survive if I was Fiona. Can't imagine the pain she must be going through.

Yes, his mum should be allowed to know what’s in those files, even if she has to sign an official secrets act first or have names redacted. It’s inhumane to keep her in the dark if they know or suspect what happened.

EmmaH2022 · 26/03/2022 19:33

That poor woman

There must be some information she can be given.

TheRealMrsMac · 26/03/2022 19:34

So sorry about your mum @Turningpurple Flowers

IncompleteSenten · 26/03/2022 19:35

I wonder if they royally fucked up and are desperate to hide that fact.

TheRealMrsMac · 26/03/2022 19:36

It's inhumane
I think so too, @Sportsnight

I recall this story and when I clicked on the link above I am a little bit confused. The tweets say that he was seeing fully clothed threading his bike and then his body was found naked. But wasn't he also seen riding his bike naked? Not to imply that that's a normal behavior, but he was naked prior to his death so it isn't that someone murdered him and then took his clothes off.

Was an autopsy not completed on his body?

Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 19:41

So sorry about your mum *@Turningpurple* Flowers
Thank you. I am ok-ish. But thank you.

I believe he may have been seen riding his bike without his top on.

I assume you are one of the two people who have voted YABU so far, @SaxendaSummer ? Are you aware that an innocent child has died and that many questions remain about how exactly that happened? That is appears to many people that Noah's death has not been properly investigated and that there has been a cover-up? What would you want to happen if this was your loved one, I wonder? Would you settle for this and go quietly away?

SantaHat · 26/03/2022 19:45

I’d be willing to put money on it

TheRealMrsMac · 26/03/2022 19:45

Just to say that Noah wasn't on his way home from school. He was on his way to meet friends to work on their Duke of Edinburgh Award together.

no foul play

You are absolutely right. I don't know why I had it in my head he was on his way home from school. Apologies for that mis-information.

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/03/2022 19:53

YANBU @Turningpurple. The whole case stinks to high heaven.Angry The police released all kinds of mistruths and IMO failed to investigate Noah's disappearance properly. The "discovery" of the body and rush by police to assure the public of No foul play was suspect as fuck at the time and looks no better now.

The very least they can do is give Fiona all the information they have on her son's disappearance and death.Sad

Cindie943811A · 26/03/2022 19:55

Was there a coroner’s report?

Turningpurple · 26/03/2022 19:59

@Cindie943811A

Was there a coroner’s report?
Not yet. Part of what's holding it up are the files. It's likey to be at the end of this year or early next.

But it's likey, if the files are ever handed over, most of the information will be redacted, from what's being said.

Not just people's names or gdpr, but the actual relevant information.

TheRealMrsMac · 26/03/2022 20:02

This BBC report includes a little about Noah - the lovely boy he was.

The police are very much 'there's nothing to see here' - and they were, pretty much right from the start, from when Noah's body was found.
