Just as the title says.

Noah Donohoe disappeared coming home from school, his body was found in a storm drain without his clothes.

His mother can not get answers on why the police decided, immediately that there was no four play and us being blocked from seeing 4 files by the police.

She says On the day Noah was found, before Noah was formally identified, the Police did a media release stating that there was ‘No Foul Play’ involved.I ask, if the police are so sure that ‘No Foul Play’ was involved, why are the police now trying to stop me, as Noah’s mummy, getting four files of information on Noah’s investigation?

Surely I am not unreasonable to think this isn't ok and that most of use would want to know what had happened to our child?

This is an overview of what has happened so far.

I remember something about the storm drain being checked shortly before Noah was found, and I think nothing was noted. Then there seemed to be a huge amount of confusion over whether or not it was locked, before it was said that it was locked 3 days before Noah was found. And where exactly was his laptop before it was attempted to have been pawned?

There's too many questions, and too many things that don't make sense for Fiona, or the public to simply accept the psni version of events.

Bumping again

Alliswells · 28/03/2022 17:47

Yes but given that I think your opening post is a bit sensationalist. You open with he disappeared after school. He was found in a storm drain without his clothes. You are immediately wanting posters to believe someone did that to him.

You don't mention he was on his bike or that he fell off it and hit his head and was seen on his bike having removed some of his clothing. You don't mention that the community were out looking for a boy KNOWN to have sustained an injury. Hence the police stating no foul play was suspected before they found him.

The whole thing is horrendous of course but I think posters reading this need to be aware there's a great variation in the details you provided in your opening post compared to the reality of the situation.

Ownedbymycats · 28/03/2022 17:47

I'm uncomfortable discussing the detail of this sad case because the inquest hasn't been completed.I believe the storm drain connects to the sea so that possibly explains why he was so far in. Communication by the police appears to have been very poor throughout and seems to have led to such frustration.
I was in Belfast at the time of his disappearance and there was such a will to try and find Noah.I read a post on Twitter recently where someone asked why Noah's mother hadn't driven him to the meeting place.Fiona Donohoe replied saying she didn't drive, she hadn't a car and the simple answer was just so sad.

Alliswells · 28/03/2022 18:08

No offense but I'm asking Mumsnet to delete this thread. Just too much armchair detectives at work stirring things up. Wait until the inquest at least before posting such details

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 28/03/2022 18:24

Well I take offense @Alliswells Hmm

Listen to the podcast interview with Noah's mum. She states all the facts that are known so far. It might be uncomfortable to hear but that's no excuse to silence her. There are simply too many unanswered questions and inconsistencies to presume that there was no foul play involved. The very fact that the inquest is being held up because the police are trying to withhold information points to there being something they want to withhold. We should all be asking why?

Do you think I decided that the files should be handed over? Just in my own.

As it stands, he actually, wasnr o his way home from school. That was my mistake. I had it im my head he was, but he wasn't.

But yes, he was found in a storm drain without his clothes. That's nor incorrect.

I linked the full story. So people could read for themselves. And the podcast.

If your child was found naked in a storm drain, would you be fine with the police saying it was an accident? Whilst hiding information and doing a poor job of the investigation?

Why is that good enough for anyone's kids?

I take offence too.

Please don’t delete this thread, MHHQ .
I don’t think anyone is intending to be an “armchair detective “ - it’s just that there so many unanswered questions and things that just don’t add up .

StarbucksSmarterSister · 28/03/2022 18:45

Noah's mother not only wants to know what happened to her child, she also wants other people to know what has happened so far in the investigation.

Perhaps people should read her Twitter feed (easy to find) to get the full picture of the difficulties she has faced so far.

I absolutely disagree that this thread should be deleted. Those who don't like it can hide it.

All that is being discussed on this thread is already in the public domain from Fiona and from the mainstream media.

The inquest is still likely to be another year away, although Noah died in June 2020.

There has been too much 'nothing to see here' right from the very beginning.

There are too many gaps, too many contradictions, too many unanswered questions. Nothing can bring Noah back now but Fiona needs to know the truth.

The police have been seeking to apply a public interest immunity certificate on 3 files of sensitive information. A decision on this is still awaited. The priority at the moment is making sure the police know that all eyes are on them about this.

Noah's mummy just wants and needs to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about her beloved son. She deserves that.

Noah deserves justice.

I realise that some people, for reasons best known to themselves, want this to go away, for Fiona and everyone else to just keep quiet now and accept the platitudes.

If this thread, in support of Fiona and Noah bothers you, then hide it.

I question the motives of anyone who wants to prevent a light being shone on Noah. A light which will hopefully help to prevent anything that even resembles another cover up.

Let's keep talking about Noah Donohoe.

This is horrendous. Poor Fiona, what happened to Noah is tragic. They were let down by the police so badly

BornBlonde · 28/03/2022 19:33

Petition can be found on Fiona's Twitter. Just bumping is I had not heard of Noah until this week. Watching Fiona's video with James was so emotional. She is fighting so hard

Couldn't agree more. @Alliswells seems to think their posts are factually correct. They are not.

HeadacheGrey · 28/03/2022 19:50

Just signed the petition.

I remember Noah going missing at the time, it was all very strange and lots of things didn't make sense.

I hope Fiona gets some answers soon and justice for her baby Sad

MillyMollyMurphy · 28/03/2022 20:01

I think the problem is that it has happened in a very political sensitive arena. The PSNI are still dealing with terrorism and it may well be that it is not in the public interest to see those files. I’m particularly thinking of the way that Sinn Fein have become so involved.

I don’t mean for this to sound in any way unsympathetic to the appalling loss of this beautiful boy.

Pugtails · 28/03/2022 20:02

@Alliswells get a grip. Would you tell the mother to stop asking for answers? Please don’t delete this thread MN

MillyMollyMurphy · 28/03/2022 20:04

Why would the police cover up the murder of a child? He wasn’t sexually abused. So no paedo ring like Kincora.
It doesn’t make sense. Most cops have kids of their own. Someone would break cover.

Your comment does sound unsympathetic and appalling.
MillyMollyMurphy · 28/03/2022 20:10

What? That saving others from terrorism doesn’t matter any more? The Loyalist terrorists were kicking off there two days ago!

TheRealMrsMac · 28/03/2022 20:10

Have you just joined to defend the PSNI, @MillyMollyMurphy ?
