Anyone else excited for this? Ready to get going in the new year?

I got all excited when it was announced but just can't get the site to load. Had anyone else managed to get into it?

Ease made me want to puke but I did it (badly). Really hope there aren't any more ab focussed days as I don't enjoy them at all

UnaOfStormhold · 14/01/2024 21:23

Was ever a yoga session ever so opposite to its name... I think I know what she's trying to get at but ouch! Particularly after a bike ride earlier - my legs were not happy bunnies.

I'm getting better at adapting to doing yoga with minimum forward back bending - I sometimes forget and do a full forward fold but have worked out a knees bent version that works on my hamstrings quite effectively. And instead of crunches I'm lifting my whole back off the floor in a boat pose type position. Which didn't make today any easier!

ConflictedCheetah · 14/01/2024 21:30

You're all doing so well, keeping going - whether you've kept up or are a few days behind. Love reading about it all.

I've had THE WORST chest infection and am only just getting out of bed now. Another week off work beckons. I'm so breathless at the slightest activity that I'll be lucky if I get restarted on this journey before the end of the month. May aim for a total restart on 1st February.

I'm still here though, cheering you on!

@UnaOfStormhold i thought forward fold was supposed to be done with a generous knee bend, that is certainly how my usual yoga instructor has us do it.

GettingFree · 14/01/2024 22:07

Didn't read the messages here first and also got caught off guard by Ease! Expect will be feeling my abs tomorrow, very satisfying though.

afaloren · 15/01/2024 10:13

I actually managed some of the planks today! I can feel more strength in my arms and core than I could two weeks ago. I’m still very ungainly on the mat but that feels good!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 15/01/2024 10:52

I wasn't remotely in the mood for today but I showed up and definitely feel better for doing it. Lots of planks but, other than the first one, none held for too long.

UnaOfStormhold · 15/01/2024 10:56

@HappyNewYears yes but I used to do it head to knee with a lot of back bend and not much of a knee bend, now I am doing it with a straight back and very very generous knee bend.

Jumbojem · 15/01/2024 11:20

Hated today's! Not the invigorating Monday am kick start I needed. First 10 minutes is just waffle waffle with some gentle movement. Finally got into it with a bit of lunging but I was bored by then. Also holding planks for a while. Ok, I am def getting stronger in the planks, but I still hate them!
This morning was not helped by having to break the practice twice to wake up and make breakfast for DS2 who had slept through his alarm (again 🙄)

HappyNewYears · 15/01/2024 11:51

Yes I found that a bit dull for a Monday morning, would’ve been better on Friday when I’m sagging.

mynameiscalypso · 15/01/2024 12:39

Thanks for the heads up about the waffle @Jumbojem. I was fitting it in between calls so fast forwarded through the first few minutes. Definitely feeling more flexible after only two weeks which is pleasing. I enjoyed today's once it got going but it felt less like a progression than some of the other days. Other than the length of the planks, it was a bit 'samey' although a nice break from work.

Moofart · 15/01/2024 14:42

I've got really far behind so today I will try and double or even triple up and see if I can get back on track this week.

bellinisurge · 15/01/2024 18:03

Suspect it was a time of day thing - post work, house to myself for an hour- but today's was great for me. I galumphed my way to the front of the mat, wobbled through all the warrior poses, got mixed up which leg was supposed to be forward. As usual. But it felt nice.
Had I done it this morning, I may well have wanted to go back to bed.

I'm sure Adriene got her left and rights confused at one point. I was making a specific point to follow closely today because I keep doing it wrong but still ended up the wrong way round at one point!

HappyNewYears · 15/01/2024 19:33

Yes I ended up the wrong way round at one point.

artforartssakemoneyforgodssake · 15/01/2024 19:36

i also ended up having to switch legs at the last minute for the lunges (day 14). I’m hoping she said left and did right either that or I just wasn’t paying enough attention. I liked today other than the extended lying down and breathing but where she talked so much I couldn’t concentrate on my breathing at all.

Yes I ended up the wrong way round at one point.

And me.
I don’t mind lying down and doing the breathing exercises but the trouble is that I then don’t want to have to move because I’m lazy.

Yes, I realised but was feeling confused so just did it on the same leg twice!

At least It's done

cornishone · 15/01/2024 21:58

I'm glad it's not just me. I did the same leg twice.

My planks are definitely stronger though.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 15/01/2024 22:55

I’m glad I read the thread first and knew to have a go on each side. I quite enjoyed today’s although it’s not one I’d seek out again in a hurry. But a good pre-bed wind down.

EBearhug · 15/01/2024 22:55

Oh, I assumed it was me who got it wrong. That is not unknown (see also tonight's in person class, where I got the wrong "left"...)

cornishone · 16/01/2024 08:21

Balance always fills me with dread.

At one point I did cling onto the tv stand.

afaloren · 16/01/2024 10:12

I could NOT get my back foot off the floor in half moon. I don’t know if it’s my balance or my fatness or what. I just hung out in extended side angle. But I did do the planks!

Sooverthemill · 16/01/2024 10:16

So half moon eh? She’s got to be joking - BUT I managed it in the second side so it’s just practice I guess

EBearhug · 16/01/2024 10:18

Balance is always fun - some days it's easy, other days it just doesn't work at all. It's entirely normal gor one side to be different from the other.
