Hello everyone. This is the April thread for those of us attempting a daily Adrienne practice. All welcome. Center, Move, true, even Kassandra we love them all!

Day 4 Nourish today. Had my pre op today, blood pressure a little high. If I focus on my yoga instead of cardio/weights can I get it down by next week? Nurse was unconcerned as she said it was probably being there that raised it,but I’ll be there next week for the actual op!

midgemadgemodge · 03/04/2023 21:22

Hello - found you again

Just had a 2 week break :-(
No good excuse either

Start again tomorrow

Loveandhappiness · 03/04/2023 21:59

Belated birthday wishes @Sooverthemill. @Yogachick hope nothing too major next week. Day 2 of move for me today - awakening the core which I really need!

ScottishBeth · 04/04/2023 08:05

I did Home day 3 before bed last night. Was another good one though starting the core work already! It was the one where you're in tabletop and raise left leg and right arm and do crunches from there - I think balance is the hardest thing in that though. I do feel like I might have improved slightly.

@getagriplove welcome! And lowering down from plank is amazing! I am getting stronger with that, though not there yet. I lower part way, drops knees and lower the rest of the way. And I'm able to do that while keeping my spine in a good shape.

@Sooverthemill happy birthday for the other day! Hope you had a lovely time!

@freckles20 some bits are tricky at first. Have you tried sitting on something? A yoga block is ideal but if you don't have one then a cushion or blanket folded up? It might help you to feel more comfortable when sat down. Glad you are enjoying it though. That is the main thing.

hoochycrone · 04/04/2023 16:54

Yes @Yogachick hope all goes well for next week.
Day 4 home
I've been so unmotivated recently. Feel the after effects of the lurgy.
Just the thought of you lot on here keeps me going 🪷

OopNorfDahnSarf · 04/04/2023 21:19

Day 3 Move. Again I am glad I did yoga in the morning before another stressful day.

Jumbojem · 05/04/2023 10:05

Just checking in. I'm on day 5 of the OG 30 day series and am loving it. Some different moves from her more recent series which is making a good change and stopped me feeling jaded.
It's pre Adidas days so she had some jazzy tiger print leggings today which she enjoyed joking about.
There is a LOT of core work though! Boat pose most days and plenty of plank. Tomorrow is titled "6 pack abs" which scares me a bit but I'm sure will be ok!

OopNorfDahnSarf · 05/04/2023 12:35

Morning all. Day 4 of Move. It was quite demanding.

notanicepersonapparently · 05/04/2023 17:13

No yoga for me for the last few days as I’ve sprained the muscles in my lower back gardening. I have forced myself to rest and it’s feeling much improved thankfully. I’m hoping to get back to OG Adrienne soon as I’ve only done day 1 so far.
Its good to read what everyone else is doing though.

midgemadgemodge · 05/04/2023 17:24

Did day 1 of true today - finally back in the swing of things - not sone true so don't know what to expect

ScottishBeth · 05/04/2023 18:14

Sounds like everyone is doing well! If your body needs rest then having a break is good going too!

@notanicepersonapparently sorry to hear you've had an injury. Hopefully you'll recover soon. And when you get back to it just take it slow!

Day 5 of Home was amazing! I know I always say that but I particularly enjoyed this one. It was called soften and I was expecting it to be really chilled, but I got quite hot and sweaty. Felt so good after it. I had a thought does anyone know when she recorded Home? @Sooverthemill might now? It was the 2020 series and she keeps alluding to something that could be the pandemic, or it might not. Of course it hadn't really got here by January 2020, and I'm guessing that's mostly true of the US as well, so I might be reading something into nothing.

hoochycrone · 06/04/2023 09:33

Ooof! Day 6 home, ignite. Intense core work. Glad I did it though.

So much talking! I have a tendency to tune out of this a lot.

I know what you mean @ScottishBeth I think it was pre/early pandemic, but do you remember there was a lot of fear and hunkering down at that time, so she was tuning into the zeitgeist.

I like the pre adidas outfits too, they're nicely random.

ScottishBeth · 06/04/2023 14:37

@hoochycrone I've just finished the same one! It was tough. All that boat work was hard. I did some and collapsed in a heap in sun. But at the end for the final boat I straightened my legs, so that's good.

I had to do today's session after my first 20 minute run in years. So am totally wiped now! I might never run on day 6 again. I did her 7 minute post run yoga as well to get my stretches in.

I'm glad it's not just me that thought she was talking about covid. There was a lot of fear, it was so weird. I always wonder what the history books will say about it. I hope I'll be alive long enough to see something. (Sorry - random aside!)

Weepingwillows12 · 06/04/2023 19:52

Hello everyone. Did day 4 of home today which was quite a nice one. I had a couple of days off this month as we had family visiting and were out and about a lot. Not too fussed if I miss a couple of days though so long as I do it most days.

Slightly random one but does anyone else have to adjust their feet when they go from forward fold to mountain? Feel like they shouldn't move but mine go straightforward in forward fold then turn slightly out for mountain otherwise I don't feel balanced. What's the correct position?

ScottishBeth · 06/04/2023 19:58

@Weepingwillows12 that's interesting. I don't know. I don't have to adjust my feet. It might be worth watching her foundations video on mountain? It might be fine, but if not are you putting weight evenly through all four corners of your feet?

I would say if it's the only way you feel balanced and a simple adjustment doesn't correct it, it's probably fine to keep going as you are.

Buttalapasta · 06/04/2023 20:17

I found day 6 of Home tough too although I quite liked the chatting today! I went for a run for the first time in months on Monday and my legs are still killing me today....

ScottishBeth · 07/04/2023 08:02

@Buttalapasta it was hard! My abs are so sore today!

midgemadgemodge · 07/04/2023 08:47

Or try feet slightly wider apart in fold ?

Guess you never do fold and mountain with feet together ?

OopNorfDahnSarf · 07/04/2023 09:39

Morning all. Day 5 Move. The sort of yoga I hate! All very slow stretches. My body feels very stiff at the moment and there is less stretch in it than there was a year ago. Enjoyed the lizard but hate pigeon.

Hope your yoga is more enjoyable.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 07/04/2023 20:30

Hi yoga friends,

I only did ten days of yoga in March, not great! Did day 11 of Move today, and absolutely loved it. It's a really stretchy one, and reminded me why I enjoy and need yoga. Determined to get back into a rhythm with it.

Hope you're all doing great x

Buttalapasta · 07/04/2023 20:52

Almost didn't do it today as we're on holiday, had to get up earlyish, pack, travel, check in....and then decided that I would regret missing a day. So I did it. Not one of the best (day 7 Home - too much chat, not enough stretch but she did mention people doing yoga in hotel rooms in restricted space so I felt seen 😀).

notanicepersonapparently · 07/04/2023 21:36

I’m back. Day 3 of OG Adrienne and some fun balances and some core work where we are asked to picture holding Simba over the rocks (lion King reference).

Yogachick · 08/04/2023 05:35

neck went into spasm so zero yoga for a few days ,then back with Nourish yesterday. So lush. Neck pain back today so I’m not sure if DD is aggravating it🧐I need my yoga right now tho so what to do?

CarlaTheGnome · 08/04/2023 05:49

Hello everyone! Glad to have found you all - I've been meaning to start a daily YWA for so long but it's so hard to find the time with two under fives at home. I'm really hoping to stick to a daily session during May, so I'm going to do a few odd ones between now and then to try and get into the habit again. My body is wrecked from babies, no sleep, and being bottom of the pile in the household, so it's time to make some gentle changes 😊

ScottishBeth · 08/04/2023 07:55

@Buttalapasta that's funny, I did Hoe day7 yesterday and thought it was just what I needed! I was totally shattered though after a busy day in the sun. I do agree there was a lot of chat though. Thank goodness its day 8 today! Also my abs are still sore after day 6. Are yours?

Oh no @Yogachick I hope you feel better soon. And find some practices that suit you at the moment.

@CarlaTheGnome welcome! So glad you found us. YWA is a great way to carve out time for yourself! (Though a few times I have done yoga with my little one in the room and have had to pick her up as she was being demanding!)
