Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Day 2 done. Loved the slow practice as still recovering from a bug.

My mum has the app and loves it - she says the monthly yoga calendars are better than with the YouTube options, but I'm not bothered enough to pay for it.

Gufo · 03/01/2023 21:51

CeeCeeDeeBee · 03/01/2023 21:05

Day two done, feeling good! I've been missing the 'namaste', too, and I always say it to her after she says 'bye'...

I don't see how it comes under cultural appropriation, as long as it's used properly within the practice and not just like, 'namaste, bitches' in the office.

[Grin] agree - it was just an idea and could well be wrong

HellonHeels · 03/01/2023 21:52

I didn't like day 2 so much, it felt a bit awkward to do. Though the cats had a hissy scrap just after we started so that unsettled the atmosphere a bit.

I wanted to do it at lunchtime but waited for boyfriend to get home from work tonight so we could practice together and I definitely don't like waiting on someone else's schedule 🤣

However I printed off the calendar and have enjoyed colouring in the sun 🌞

Prestissimo · 03/01/2023 22:24

Day 2 ✅
Enjoyed that again. Pleased to not be the only one stubbornly saying Namaste at the end 😂

VerbenaView · 03/01/2023 22:30

Day 2 done, my body did not find any of it easy or smooth today, I really felt out of place, all wrong in my movements. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with a long tough day at work or how terribly unfit I am.
I noticed how that I find it difficult to do the deep breaths, and I could not breathe in for 5 and out for five, I also found it really difficult to do the low lunge, it's like my stomach won't allow it.

I'm a bit overweight, post menopausal, unfit and really feeling it today😂it's making me feel even more determined to improve and continue.

BalancingStick · 03/01/2023 22:34

Enjoyed day 2 - great combo of breath work and relaxation with the challenge of downward dog/ plank. Length felt good too.

PositiveLife · 03/01/2023 22:35

Oh I'm doing this. I found day 2 slightly better than day 1. I really struggle with downward dog but I think it's my short arms and weak wrists (I find it easier on my fingertips)

VerbenaView · 03/01/2023 22:36

@Shinyandnew2022 viewing the shelves on my tiny phone, reminds me of primary school PE bars 😂
@happytobemrsg I'm interested to know how to use blocks too

BestIsWest · 03/01/2023 22:58

I use them like this for downward dog (and plank). Really helps my shoulder.

Day 2 was lovely and stretchy. I think it’s probably a little early to say I’m feeling the benefits but I did feel more stable than I did yesterday. I wanted to try using a block for my dodgy right ankle but it’s gone awol, however I did the practise in socks as my feet were freezing yesterday and it really seemed to help stabalise my ankle.

Whoever was asking about wider yoga mats the other day - if you really want to treat youself, Lululemon does an oversized mat which is great but very spendy.

Coraline353 · 04/01/2023 06:46

Day 3 done. Definitely found it a bit tougher today, especially getting up earlier. Great hip work today though

Isthisjustnormal · 04/01/2023 07:13

Enjoyed day 2 yesterday evening. Although agree that the slow breaths in child were very slow! I had to cheat/go at my own pace.

ScottishBeth · 04/01/2023 07:54

happytobemrsg · 03/01/2023 21:18

Day 2 completed! Enjoyed today’s session more than yesterday. Loved the stretching at the beginning. Of course struggling transitioning from DS to plank was extremely hard. Easier with half plank, maybe I need to work my way up. I looked slightly less ridiculous doing the neck elbow twist thing compared to yesterday so I’m taking that as a win.

I have a yoga block coming tomorrow. Can you please tell me where I could use it to help me in my practice (note, I’m a complete beginner).

Glad you are enjoying it! Download to plank and back is hard! For yoga blocks I sit on one when sitting cross legged, or in bound angle pose (we haven't done it yet, but it's sitting on the floor with the soles of the feet together and hips open). I find it helps keep my spine in a good position. She'll probably offer suggestions for other ways to use the block throughout.

daisychain01 · 04/01/2023 08:21

bound angle pose (we haven't done it yet, but it's sitting on the floor with the soles of the feet together and hips open)..

I think you may mean butterfly pose @ScottishBeth ?

Bound angle is aka double pigeon, where you put bent right leg over bent left leg in a seated position then repeat the other way round (I find it easy when left leg is over right but excruciatingly difficult with right leg over left Smile

Sooverthemill · 04/01/2023 08:24

Loved todays opening part but omg that felt like when you tap your head and rub your tummy ! Found lots tough despite not being a newbie but that’s what I live a lousy these challenges! Yes I think butterfly pose too! I don’t use blocks much though maybe I should

Day 2 was good. I found my inner grasshopper Grin on the halfway lift.

liked the elbows out circular motion, quite relaxing,

i managed to do it earlier in the day than I normally do and then when it got to my normal yoga time at 6pm it felt weird not jumping on my mat.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/01/2023 08:28

I really enjoyed day 3 this morning. I’d been running first, so the hip work was just what I needed. I struggled with the first down dog, but just as she was talking about feeling a shift I got there. And I usually hate bridge pose, but even that felt right today. I will look back on this post to remind myself how good it felt when I have a less enjoyable session.

Jumbojem · 04/01/2023 08:32

Day 3 done. Felt tough on my quads with all the chair pose and warrior 2/ pyramid pose but all good.

ladybranstonpickle · 04/01/2023 08:46

Tacked Day 2 onto my Caroline Girvan IRON workout last night - unfortunately my 3 year old got home from nursery for the last 5 mins so that was hard to concentrate. Not sure I got any of the breathing right! Will try and do Day 3 after my workout this afternoon as well, but might move it to just before bed.

Found it really hard :(

My partner wandered in while I was doing it and said "Adrienne's got the apparatus out."!

AlisonDonut · 04/01/2023 09:27

I got 3/4 of the way through day 2 before the power went, and have done all of Day 3.

hoochyhag · 04/01/2023 09:30

Wow day 3 😯

Day 3 done
Found it really hard :(

I found it challenging too. I've realised my left side is noticeably tighter than my right. This is from an accident I had two years ago, which I thought had resolved itself - it was while off work with this I first discovered Adriene. It helped then, so I'm hoping it will now too. Going to carry on anyway, as I'm enjoying it!
Another one missing the 'namaste' and saying it to her at the end ...

hoochyhag · 04/01/2023 09:38

Thanks for the tips on plank to lunge 🥰
I may invest in blocks.

You can tell she's a dancer. Glad I'm not the only one looking at the shelves. Bit too much pine for my taste but envious of her space.

I love saying namaste too!
