Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

I did Kassandra videos mist of this year. I think I outgrew Adriene a bit and found all the chatter too slow. But for the Jan reset I really enjoy going back to her. I always feel like it takes me back to basics - good alignment, fundamental poses and breathwork.

I also have done quite a lot of Kassandra and welcome the break from the chatter of Adrienne but I think that Adrienne can’t really be beaten for the 30 day challenge. I alway come back to her and love the precision of her explanations

Ooh found that tougher than usual definitely out of practise. Also still have a bit of a cold so will see how I go. Did I miss it or did she not say namaste at the end?

BestIsWest · 02/01/2023 16:48

Yep, that was tough. I’m definitely out of practice.

notanicepersonapparently · 02/01/2023 16:55

Day one done and I feel really relaxed. I’m looking forward to day two. How soon will the pace pick up? I seem to remember Move got quite energetic quite quickly 😅

I took breaks to relax my wrists - it's what she expects anyway

Also push finger tips down hard helps relieve wrist pressure

Thanks x

ScottishBeth · 02/01/2023 17:21

Just done day 1! I enjoyed it. I feel like in the early days she spends a long time explaining the position for tabletop and then downward dog so I'm holding it for ages! But it was really lovely. Looking forward to tomorrow.

EmmaStone · 02/01/2023 17:47

Another tip if wrists are hurting (beyond resting, and giving them a shake out/stretch), is to rest on your fists (knuckles down). Useful when on all fours. But strength in wrists will improve really quickly over this month based on previous years!

HellonHeels · 02/01/2023 18:19

Hands on blocks helps me with wrist / hand pain. Also good if you feel uncomfortably tight in hamstrings or achilles.

Found it hard going today, haven't been on my mat for over a year. Feel good for doing it though. Namaste everyone!

BalancingStick · 02/01/2023 18:35

Day 1 done. It all felt good except my hips are definitely feeling tighter than usual. Looking forward to loosening up there!

Just finished day 1 - LOVED the ‘circling the upper body whilst cradling your neck’ move. No idea of the technical term, obviously.

Just finished Day 1 and yes "I can" or should that be "we can " on here 😊

Like you @Fandangles I really liked the neck cradle and circles. I found myself going ooo and then aaaah as the tension released lol.

I found Day 1 really enjoyable and I've resolved to use each day to improve my techniques. Adriene is very precise in her instructions which is very helpful as I probably get into poor or sloppy habits after so many hours of yoga, so it's time to brush up!

Ulysses · 02/01/2023 19:18

Day one done! I feel better for doing it though I was wobbly for some of the poses. I can never do the leg lifts from downward dog or stack my hips.

Isthisjustnormal · 02/01/2023 19:18

Checking in as I missed this thread. Just done day 1. I used to do quite a bit of yoga but not done much for about 3 years so that was hard just reminding myself of the different shapes and structures. Loved the back circles too: never done those before! When do people find the best time to do daily practice? Thinking through what will work…!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 02/01/2023 19:21

Just done day 1. Lovely!

Really enjoyed easing back in. Feeling quite tight and creaky (and full of chocolate) so glad it wasn't quite so hard a day 1 as in previous years!

Weepingwillows12 · 02/01/2023 19:23

Day 1 done. This is my 4th year doing these January challenges and I usually keep going after Jan but lose it somewhere approaching summer. I always find the first one hard as it's so slow and you are holding poses for ages (or in my case dropping down to child's pose for rests after a couple of breaths of downward dog 😅) and it reminds me that I was so much stronger after doing yoga a few months and kick myself for not keeping going. Maybe this is the year I keep going all year!. Feel so relaxed now though so very glad it's back on.

PolarBlair · 02/01/2023 19:48

Day 1 done 👍

Jedstre · 02/01/2023 20:01

Just completed day 1. I like to do it early evening as it fits in with work (I’d never manage before work).
I felt a bit wobbly and not very strong. I had covid just over a week ago so could be that or just that I’m out of practice. I’m looking forward to getting stronger over the 30 days.

Gufo · 02/01/2023 20:20

Day one done - I also loved the back/elbow circles. I found it a bit dull to start with, and then suddenly it was done!

Redcrayons · 02/01/2023 20:26

Day 0 and day 1 done today.
this is my 4th year and I try to keep it going throughout the year a few times a week. I’m a runner so concentrate on hips and legs usually, and definitely felt lack of upper body strength today.
the elbow circles was a complete new move for me today.

VerbenaView · 02/01/2023 20:34

Day one done! I am really unfit, a bit overweight and have no flexibility, but I really enjoyed it with modifications. I'm not sure if the modifications were correct, but I did what felt right at the time.

I felt emotional at the end which took me by surprise. I will try to do Day 2 before work, if not, it will be early evening.
Thanks for the thread.

Sooverthemill · 02/01/2023 20:37

Someone asked about what time to do it. I always do it first thing after a cup of tea. It's my best time before the madness begins

I found day 1 slow initially and then suddenly I was enjoying it ! Looking forward to learning some new poses after 12 months of Move!

Chimna · 02/01/2023 20:54

Day 1 done. I prefer doing in the evening as I can really concentrate and get into it properly once the kids are in bed. I really enjoyed this. I agree that this is perfect for improving alignment.

BrandNewBicep · 02/01/2023 21:07

Done it. Found it more difficult than I was expecting - holding poses for ages, so wrists aching. Also, I hadn't thought about how it would affect my achilles tendonitis, so a lot of the poses like downward dog and lunges, I'm going to have to miss. Will see how it goes.

WavingCatpaw · 02/01/2023 21:09

Checking in on day one. Annoyed with myself for stopping yoga for so long and now finding it hard again. Am I the only one that doesn’t ever find ‘a nice comfortable seat’ comfortable? I’ve always found being crossed legged uncomfortable and have to use a block at this point. It’s so annoying that the seemingly easiest bit is the hardest for me!

crimsonpeak · 02/01/2023 21:12

Hi everyone 👋🏻 Day 1 done! Relaxing with tea now. Definitely feeling it after that - I’m out of practice. Felt good to be on the mat though - yoga really clears my mind.

I know what you mean @WavingCatpaw - I instantly feel more comfortable on a block from the outset!
