Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Day 16 done, how did she know it was not long since I’d eaten my dinner?

happytobemrsg · 17/01/2023 22:24

Enjoyed today & feeling good about how much stronger I feel in downward dog. I wish the practice was a bit longer though. May I need to do a couple of videos on the really short days.

happytobemrsg · 17/01/2023 22:36

As to what we do next month - I can see the benefit of doing Centre again and feeling improvements but the second half of the month do seem a bit short

VerbenaView · 18/01/2023 00:07

@Prestissimo thanks for the tip, that is an old video, I think I'll look at other poses too.

I'm still keeping up to date. I enjoyed yesterday and today, and I'm interested in the chat about next month too. I am keen to continue with daily practice, and I think this thread is great. Thanks all.

Occasionally I do a video twice immediately ( or add in a short core one). Not so much since I had covid though

Did d16 last night and enjoyed it but am also feeling that we need to 'get moving' a bit more. I see today's is called Move so maybe that's what's coming.

Weepingwillows12 · 18/01/2023 07:40

I might not manage day 17 today as working away today so out the house 5:30am to 8:30pm if things go to plan. Will check out your reviews to see if I want to force myself to do it late at night after dinner or aim for 2 tomorrow instead.

Shinyandnew2022 · 18/01/2023 08:07

Hi all day 16 done -it was very gentle but I do still have some residual achy bits that show I have been stretching parts I don't normally use !
Sadly my DC weren't capable of staying quiet for 19 minutes so I had to pause the session and shout at them part way through

  • so annoying.
Also agree about this feeling gentler than Move and for me that is enough while I rebuild the daily habit but I do miss Move - I feel like that is what I will always gravitate back to.
Sooverthemill · 18/01/2023 08:10

I found todays quite tricky balancing and moving in a circle especially up in a lunge. My front knee kept straightening . But psychic Adrienne knew that my back would be aching so that’s good.

I wasn't crazy about Day 16 - I felt like I was getting up and down the whole time to begin with! But I felt really good afterwards.

Sounds like we have the same DC @Shinyandnew2022 !

newmumtotwo24 · 18/01/2023 09:00

Todays felt slightly more but I thought given the title it would have been harder. Hand to drop my knee on the lunges at the end. Glad it was a little longer but it still went quick!

Gufo · 18/01/2023 09:50

Day 17 done. They are flying by! Does anyone else feel nauseous doing the elbow circles?

hoochyhag · 18/01/2023 10:14

Day 17 ☺️

Gosh yes, those were hard. Did almost fall over 😂

But for the first time managed to bring my foot up, just raised up the hand on that side 😁

hoochyhag · 18/01/2023 10:16

I will certainly be up for a course of move after this center is done. Feel so much better in myself.

Fandangles · 18/01/2023 10:24

I doubled up today to catch up, not feeling brilliant but don’t want to fall too far behind.

for me, my goal has been to simply show up each day so I haven’t minded the length of the practices. I think the fact they’re short has helped me keep disciplined! I did find myself thinking I’d be up for longer sessions after this, and it sounds like Move will be a good option!

thanks all for helping keep me accountable. It really helps checking into this thread!

euromum · 18/01/2023 11:26

Interesting one today! I'm definitely beginning to feel what she means about the circular motions coming from centre rather than just moving my arms. It was quite hard work in the lunges but did highlight how the core is what really holds everything together.

@Fandangles I agree the short length is making it easier to keep showing up, and I'm glad for that too while trying to get the habit going again. But also keen to get moving a bit more!

Rummikub · 18/01/2023 11:54

Day 15. Wasn’t really in the mood but again the length of the session meant I thought I’ll just see what it’s like and find myself joining in and enjoying it.

Holding the breath- what does it do? What’s its aim? I understand breathing in deeply and exhaling but not holding breath.

BestIsWest · 18/01/2023 12:36

I am 3 days behind with 15,16 and 17 to do so checking in for accountability. Back in the office this week so just been too tired.

Box breathing is a stress management/ meditation technique and I think it helps concentration so the in for four hold for four our first four and hold for four aids that.

Rummikub · 18/01/2023 12:57

Ah I see! That makes sense actually.

happytobemrsg · 18/01/2023 15:14

Feeling my anxiety spiralling a bit today so maybe I’ll give that box breathing a go

Chimna · 18/01/2023 17:29

Day 17 done. Enjoyed the mid back stretch at the beginning. I have some pain there from pregnancy so that was nice after a day sat at a desk. I also struggled with the high lunges. She kind of mentioned in today's and yesterday's videos that things may start to ramp up abit so I'm looking forward to that.

BestIsWest · 18/01/2023 17:45

15 and 16 done. I enjoyed them but it does seem easier than Move. Maybe I’m getting better at it!

daisychain01 · 18/01/2023 19:01

I did 16 and 17 today, and much preferred it as a 41 min practice. I find 20 mins doesn't really "scratch my yoga itch" 😊

I liked the idea that you can massage your inner wrists with the soles of your feet Grin if only that it sounds really difficult, but it isn't.

All those eagle arms today were very nice for my shoulders and upper back.

im going to try doing two sessions in succession - previous day plus current day.

2fallsfromSSA · 18/01/2023 19:16

I missed day 16 so I might do it tonight. I did day 17 this morning and found the lunges with eagle arms really quite challenging!

I'm glad they are only 20 minutes but I do sometimes like a longer practice.
