Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Best practice so far! I loved this! Exactly what I needed after the abs practice yesterday. Can’t believe I’m starting to enjoy downward dog?? I have notoriously weak wrists but I can actually feel them getting stronger. Feeling very grateful having this part of my daily routine.

Rummikub · 08/01/2023 22:35

I never persist with downward dog cos it hurts my wrists. Perhaps I should persevere. Tiny steps tho!

VerbenaView · 08/01/2023 22:41

I completed Day 7 early evening, I enjoyed it but I didn't exactly flow.
I had an operation on my upper arm a year ago and I have limited movement, but I can feel it improving. I find any pose where my arm is straight above my head difficult, especially child pose, but I am feeling an improvement which I am so thrilled about. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

happytobemrsg · 08/01/2023 23:08

@Rummikub I’ve started using blocks for downward dog so I can hold it for longer. Then in todays session I tried a couple without & my wrists felt stronger than before. I’ve always had terrible wrists & suffered with RSI during studies.

Talisin · 09/01/2023 01:21

I’ve had 3 days off, largely due to pine needlemagedon and a broken vacuum cleaner. Anyway as I really want to try and catch up again, I did days 4, 5 and 6 tonight - I suspect I will be feeling the core one tomorrow! Hopefully I can do day 7 in the morning and finally 8 before bed and be back on schedule. I am really liking that - apart from day 1 - they are all 30 mins or less, it feels much easier to motivate myself to actually get on the mat to do them than the 40 mins plus of some previous years. My dodgy ankle is really holding up as well which is a big relief.

Fandangles · 09/01/2023 08:04

I didn’t manage to get up before work to do today’s practice, but it sounds like it might be a nice dreamy one to do before bed! Looking forward to it.

Sooverthemill · 09/01/2023 08:33

@Taswama welcome. This is my 8th year! Love it

i love the flows that Adrienne does as slime others I can close my eyes and know what’s coming next. I hate blanket day and day 30! Day 8 because all that lying around ) yes I know it’s good for me). My abs are still sore btw and my inner thighs too. But am so enjoying this years challenge!

Oo yes day 8, a lovely one.
And Benji 😍

OopNorfDahnSarf · 09/01/2023 08:44

Day 6. My abs are on fire. Might do 7 tomorrow morning and 8 in the evening to catch up.

euromum · 09/01/2023 08:50

Day 8 this morning was lovely for the lower back! I could have spent ages in seated forward fold with my head on the pillow. Bit too much lying still at the end though, I spent that part thinking about breakfast 😁

Might repeat this one before bed tonight too!

Usually agree about day 8 but it was quite nice to start the week with an easy one for once 😁 Totally with about day 30 though, I always just skip it and do something else. This is my fourth year I think (started with Dedicate but skipped Home). 8 is impressive! Thank you for the thread 😊

Jumbojem · 09/01/2023 09:07

Another here who skips day 30 and instead I choose one of my favourite sessions from the previous days.
I'm terrible with left and right so got in a muddle with Day 7 and think I did the same side twice and thought she was switching sides each time on thread the needle so when she said switch to the other side I had to keep on just alternating.
Didn't think I was in the mood for half an hour of mediation this am to the sound of the kids getting up (and Kiss FM on in the next room) but actually did manage to switch my mind off and relax.
Benji is so cute in today's!

Hohoholdthesherry · 09/01/2023 09:52

Joining this thread late as I was on leave and don't like looking at MN on my phone screen, but have been doing Center. Even splashed out on a yoga mat when I forgot mine when we went away for three days, as really want to keep up this year.

Really enjoying the daily challenge, as the rest of the year, I tend to follow shorter videos that aren't so difficult. Definitely feeling it in my centre!

llynnnn · 09/01/2023 10:13

Completed day 8 first thing this morning in my pjs! Felt very relaxed, but I didn't have enough pillows to rest my forehead on in seated forward fold....my neck and shoulders are so stiff they barely moved forward. Thinking of booking in for a hot stone massage to try to release them a little. The joys of a desk job!

Chimna · 09/01/2023 10:13

Day 8 done. A lovely nice chill. Would be a good one to do actually on the bed before wrapping up in your quilt and pillow and drifting off. Will save that one for when I need to relax in the future.

AlisonDonut · 09/01/2023 11:43

So looks like this would be one to do tonight to catch up?

Day 7 done.

Most definitely! 😊

SunUpSunDown · 09/01/2023 12:38

Today's was perfect for me. I woke up with a migraine, nausea and just starting on my period. Thankfully I'm working from home today, so I just did this at lunch time, and it was yummy. It always surprises me how much tension I can carry without being at all aware of it. I feel sleepy now though...!

Ulysses · 09/01/2023 12:46

I'm a couple of days behind, so intend to do another later and this sounds like a good one.

Shannith · 09/01/2023 14:01

Day 4 and 5 done this morning. Really enjoying it - but man I procrastinated this morning... cleaned the kitchen, walked the dog, fannied about doing nothing useful, even did a work thing I've been avoiding!

Even though I know how good I feel afterwards - always about an inch taller. Stupid mind.

What I'm really enjoying about doing a new sequence is that I can really follow all her instructions, rather than just half doing stuff by heart. Things that made no sense to me, like having your weight in your lower body in downward dog now make sense.

I was determined to get to the point where yoga for me was easy. I'm kind of there but I still meet my appropriate edge as she puts it.

I'm no longer straining to get a posture, I breathe and flow into it. If that sounds wanky - I agree but I can't think of another way to put it.

I've got the time a space to make micro adjustments if that makes sense. Given that I started yoga to try and fix my broken, stiff and uncooperative body so I could ride without falling off all the time it's a minor miracle.

I'm also extremely glad my bloody back has stopped hurting so I can get back into it.

ArabeI · 09/01/2023 14:06

I did day 7 yesterday. I have slightly aching abs from day 6 which was a bit of a surprise, and I really liked those core exercises, though I've been running a lot this week, too.

Saving day 8 until bedtime. Looking forward to it.

Coraline353 · 09/01/2023 15:24

Day 8 done. Felt a bit counter intuitive waking up at 6 to get up out of bed to do such a restful yoga practice. Definitely a good one to do before bed. There was some gentle stretching that gets me body moving for the day though.

BestIsWest · 09/01/2023 16:29

Day 8 done. I must admit this doesn’t do much for me. Last year doing move I skipped it after the first month and did something else instead. But my abs and thighs are still sore from day 6 so it was quite nice to do something more restful.

TheSmallAssassin · 09/01/2023 16:55

I thought the whole point of Day 30 was to make it up yourself as you went along, rather than doing the same as Adriene, so no need to watch what she's doing, @daisychain01 ?

CeeCeeDeeBee · 09/01/2023 18:00

I did day 7 yesterday, then must have forgotten to comment. Have been waiting all day to do day 8 as, like PP, didn't see the point of doing what is essentially a bedtime practice in the morning!
