Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Day 3 and 4 done. Love the slow approach and all the work on the back and lower abs - really helpful after lugging 9kg of baby on my hip all day.

Oh god my DS is sleeping soooo badly. We're staying with in laws in the middle east. His naps have gone bonkers, he's overwhelmed by all the new stuff and since being ill last week wants to be held in someone's arms to go to sleep. A new bed and different time zones / daylight hours are not helping. He's waking up every 2 hours and taking 30-40 min to resettle each time. DH and I are trying to share the waking and are both knackered.

Yoga is squeezed into the tiny space between the end of the bed and a chair at 10.30pm while DS sleeps, but my god does it feel good. "I am strong" is the mantra to get us through the next week I think!

newmumtotwo24 · 06/01/2023 11:10

Complete. Technically did it 1.5 times. My 3mo started protesting half way through my first attempt and I decided to just start the whole thing again when she was asleep to get back into flow. Still enjoying myself despite being clunky and my body is beginning to ache. All the downward dog and planking is a challenge. Should my wrists and arms hurt so much doing downward dog?! I guess my wrists just aren't used to the pressure?

Prestissimo · 06/01/2023 11:20

Day 4 just done (late as I was decorating a birthday cake last night), hoping to do d5 tonight so will mentally prepare myself for not-so-much hug. I thought it seemed a bit early for an easy session!

Loved d4 and feeling really positive about this series so far. Well done to everyone else who keeps showing up 🧘🏻‍♀️

llynnnn · 06/01/2023 12:54

Day 5 done. Agree with pp, it wasn't the relaxing hug I dreamed off when I saw the title, but actually wasn't bad either (although I did sneak in a cheeky childs pose when it got a little much!)

Great to follow along with you all, thanks for keeping me motivated and all the tips along the way :)

CeeCeeDeeBee · 06/01/2023 13:24

Did day five earlier this morning. Was happy when I saw the title but then quickly realised, when all the planning started, that she meant a metaphorical hug for all your internal organs, ouch!

My wrists and arms were aching after all that!

Weepingwillows12 · 06/01/2023 13:56

Invisibledragon - so impressed you are even trying. It's awful when they won't sleep. Hope baby settles soon.

BestIsWest · 06/01/2023 15:31

Day 5. Oof. I need a lie down now.

Rummikub · 06/01/2023 16:11

Bestiawest I was lulled into thinking day 5 Hug would be a nice gentle one! But no.
Doing airplane arms whilst lying on front was hard!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 06/01/2023 16:25

Day 5 done. I cannot abide mountain climbers, or anything that remotely resembles them!
I'm still having trouble with my wrists, though I am feeling looser

Chimna · 06/01/2023 17:45

Day 5 done. Certainly not the hug I was expecting yesterday but feel good for it. This is the first time I'm managing to keep up with the days, hoping I can keep it up!

Weepingwillows12 · 06/01/2023 18:04

Day 5 done. Did not like this one. I have really weak arms so anytime in downward dog or plank kills me and there was a lot here. Still, I held the poses longer than I wanted and kept going so feel I am working towards more strength at least. Actually looking forward to core day.

BestIsWest · 06/01/2023 18:44

At least she says tomorrows will be short.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2023 19:17

@BestIsWest day 6 is always short but this one is 20 minutes! I used to like it when day 6 was 12 minutes

froginawell · 06/01/2023 19:19

Oh my word my poor arms!

Hug day completed

ScottishBeth · 06/01/2023 19:39

I did day 5 - it was hard. And I missed one set of the mountain climber things as I was too hot and had to take my dungarees off!

Sometimes if I'm too lazy to get my blocks I just sit on a cushion, but that wasn't enough for me today. I don't know if it's because I did it later in the day? So was more tired. On the plus side during the leg cradle bit at the end I'm getting closer to being able to actually cradle my leg woth both hands, so my hips must be getting more flexible.

Shinyandnew2022 · 06/01/2023 21:06

Just done day 5 and am now enjoying reading all the other comments about the 'Hug' con!
This was way more challenging than the other days - but what I am really happy with is that my core is definitely way way better
than last year -
So I have definitely retained some strength despite falling off the YWA wagon last year .

Also this may sound a bit weird but I love the fact that my DH and DC are helping me make the time - it makes me feel valued ! ( cheesy sorry!)

Hats off to those of you doing this with tiny DC or other pressures and ailments - it's a proper commitment but so rewarding .

Prestissimo · 06/01/2023 21:41

D5 done. Really enjoyed it although I'm definitely feeling it in my upper back and my hip flexors.

20 minutes of core work tomorrow sounds challenging, but I have to say I think the sessions are going really quickly this week. D5 didn't feel like 27minutes, so hopefully d6 will be manageable 😅

Keep going everyone, we're nearly a week in

InvisibleDragon · 06/01/2023 21:46

I loved day 5! Back really appreciating all of the deep core work. Baby cobra with airplane arms though ...

Gwdihooooo · 06/01/2023 22:10

UnaOfStormhold · 05/01/2023 21:53

I was feeling rubbish last night and not much better today so I had missed day 3. Caught up gently today.

I have been practicing at home so much that I automatically whip off my trousers to do tree - it's so much easier. But I must remember not to do do that in a live class.... I did enjoy the episode of Move where she asked us to close our eyes in tree and enjoy falling out of the pose.

I quite liked the half plank press ups - I can do full ones but only just about so it was nice to slow down and really focus on good form.

One tip for sore wrists is to spread the fingers and push them down almost as if you're trying to lift the palm off the floor - she really emphasised this one year (I think it was home) and it took the pressure off a lot, I think because it changes the angle of the wrist.

I’ve been doing this with my fingers and it works! Thanks

Gwdihooooo · 06/01/2023 22:14

I love hugging and rocking my legs

happytobemrsg · 06/01/2023 22:40

Why does a “hug” include so many downward dogs?? I feel conned 😂 actually enjoyed the session and was able to lift both knees in my final downward dog so that’s a win. No child lose today, I miss tfat. I did really like the seat aeroplane position. That’s was great. Not really understanding what’s so big about Day 6 - is it a particularly tough session?!

VerbenaView · 07/01/2023 00:09

Late to post, but I did Day 5 earlier, again this evening, I loved it, I have much to improve; legs are not straight in downward dog, knee to chest is nowhere near my chest, I can't move up the mat like she says, I struggle to do the squat, breathing is dreadful etc etc, but I am showing up and really really enjoying all of this. I am getting a real buzz. The only thing I have been able to do correctly is the slow move from sitting to lying down, curling down the spine - I am super happy with this, I though my abs had disappeared😂
Looking forward to tomorrow

CeeCeeDeeBee · 07/01/2023 07:13

@happytobemrsg day 6 is traditionally a tough core day (6 pack abs), ahead of a flowy day 7 and a restorative day 8.

melonraspberry · 07/01/2023 07:25

Just had a peek, even the picture looks exhausting! Need coffee first!
Adriene is so good. I’m really feeling it in my muscles but in a nice way.

speakout · 07/01/2023 07:31

I haven't done any yet, not sure whether to start from the beginning or jump in to share with you guys- it sounds good practicing as a team.
I am too busy doing other stuff, may be Tuesday before I have time to try Adriene.
