Yay! It's day 0 and the video is up ( at 6.03 for me). Let's do this! What a lovely gentle way to start. See you all tomorrow when we actually do a little bit of yoga.

Yeay day 4. Can't believe I'm keeping it up.

Shaky legs for me too.

Loved the namaste 🥰

Jumbojem · 05/01/2023 10:11

Day 4 done.
Tree pose - my nemesis! I just can't balance on one foot and get the other to rest on my leg. Even in the days when I did a 2hr weekly class (and was 20 yrs younger) I struggled with this one.
I wasn't in the mood first thing and nearly sacked it off for later but enjoyed it once I got into the breathing and relaxing at the start.

llynnnn · 05/01/2023 12:34

Day 4 done, really enjoyed this one, and even managed the balance (much to my surprise!) I was wearing my new yoga socks though which helped my foot 'stick' to my leg!

Chimna · 05/01/2023 13:01

Day 4 done. My toddler actually napped so I managed to give this my full attention. Today was hard but I loved it.

happytobemrsg · 05/01/2023 13:21

Is day 4 harder than day 3?

Gufo · 05/01/2023 14:26

I'd say it's a similar level but different moves.

I didn't enjoy the first half (slow mountain climbers) but loved frog/squat and tree - even got foot above knee for the first time!

CirreltheSquirrel · 05/01/2023 14:28

I'm up to day 4. I'm quite pleased with how it's going - in previous years I've tried to do these and found them quite hard but I started doing yoga in work back in may and have since started supplementing it with my own sessions and although I sometimes feel like I'm not making as much progress as I want, I'm finding these so much easier this year!

Menopants · 05/01/2023 16:14

Hello, I am recovering from Covid so did day 1 today. I love doing her 30 days. I normally do her monthly calendar but have had bug after bug in December and now Covid!
I found it ok considering I have been unwell for most of December. Am hoping it will ease me back to fitness.

PolarBlair · 05/01/2023 16:57

Day 3&4 done. Day 4 was nice 🙂

BestIsWest · 05/01/2023 17:23

Enjoyed day 4. I am now going to Google yoga socks as my foot keeps sliding down my leggings.

hoochyhag · 05/01/2023 17:28

Yes! Adding yoga socks to my list Grin

Weepingwillows12 · 05/01/2023 17:30

Loved day 4. My favourite yoga is lots of stretches plus I quite like core work. Plus there wasn't too much downward dog which I hate but is such a fundamental part of yoga that it makes me irritated that I hate it haha. Really enjoying this year so far. And we got the namaste back 😁

ScottishBeth · 05/01/2023 18:06

I really enjoyed day 4. I like tree pose. I was working really hard on engaging my core throughout it. That's what I'm loving about doing yoga regularly - finding new things to work on. I've learned loads about plank as well. Also, I was so pleased with my lowering down from plank today! Maybe I'll be able to do a full push up by the time I'm 40! (I have about a year.)

namechange5575 · 05/01/2023 18:20

That was quite hard but good.

MrsG, I was new to it last year and it was really hard work for the first couple of days, then steadily got easier until maybe day 10? 15? when I felt like it could more or less manage it, even if I was still a bit stiff and inflexible. She does talk about 'building strength' a lot - it make sense when you have built it! But then loosely carrying it on every month kept up the strength (apart from dropping it in early Dec). So I can tell I have that residual strength. But it will get easier for you, and then you'll notice how much stronger your body is generally and how more smoothly you are moving. It's great.

ScottishBeth · 05/01/2023 19:07

@happytobemrsg I think day 4 is easier than 3. But don't hesitate to do modifications. For example instead of plank you can have your knees down, or on all 4s. Then you can still bring one knee in from that position. And hold onto the wall for the balancing if you need to. Or just let yourself lose your balance!

ChocAuVin · 05/01/2023 19:10

Checking back in now the journey is underway! Have been faithfully dragging myself out of bed (despite lingering poorliness, sob) and showing up to the mat at 6.30 each morning... loving it so far Smile

froginawell · 05/01/2023 19:22

Day 4 completed! I didn't feel like doing it and I think it was only the notifications on my phone as each of you guys completed that got me to the mat!

But did enjoying it, although my wobbly ankles need a lot of work on...

OopNorfDahnSarf · 05/01/2023 19:28

Day 4 completed. Found it easier than yesterday.

Interesting what she saying this series about don't lock your elbows or knees. I don't think I have heard her say that before.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 05/01/2023 19:57

Day 4 in the bag! I couldn't really be arsed but I did it, and I'm glad!

Traditionally I have hated tree pose, but I've worked on my core strength a lot in the past year and really felt the difference today. It's the first time I've been able to hold tree pose, with my foot high up, for a sustained length of time, on both sides! Feeling ridiculously proud tbh 😂

It goes to show that she's right about building strength, to echo what others have said. Yoga strength kind of creeps up on you.

Ulysses · 05/01/2023 20:55

All done. I enjoyed today although I did it at a time when others were hovering in the background. Bit off-putting doing the tree but I was quite pleased with how well it went. One side is definitely stronger than the other.

happytobemrsg · 05/01/2023 21:12

Thank you for the reassurance. I don’t like the full plan but also thought the plank with my knees bent didn’t do much for me. When I use to go in the gym I’d do the regular plank but resting on my forearms rather than my palms. Would that be an ok modification?

Not yet attempted Day 4, will be doing it shortly

Rummikub · 05/01/2023 21:33

Yes I do that version of plank on my forearms. I also found half plank less satisfying/challenging.

daisychain01 · 05/01/2023 21:38

Day 4 done!

i was dreading it today as I did a session of studio cycling this morning and thought I'd suffer, but it wasn't too bad.

wobbly tree posture as always but I keep thinking the wobbling is part of the strengthening.

didn't like the half-plank because I don't enjoy pressure on my knees, and then to add insult to injury press-ups aggghhh! Survival mode there.

i liked the end with reclined pigeon, nice and stretching on the piriformis which is always tight.

all in all Day 4 was 👍 ✅

melonraspberry · 05/01/2023 21:44

I enjoyed day 4. I agree you do build strength, I found yesterday hard as the leg exercises were a bit different to how they had been in move . But any of the positions that she did a lot in move I can do quite easily now as I did move for 12 months , so I was fine with tree pose or the mountain climbers. I think it’s a lot of mental confidence though that makes the difference as well, once you’ve cracked it you go into it much more sure about being able to do it.

melonraspberry · 05/01/2023 21:46

I can’t get my foot above my knee in tree pose though!
