This thread is for those of us crazy enough to commit to continuing MOVE every day during the year
so@BestIsWest

tag anyone I've missed
everyone is welcome. We are doing this together because it motivates and encourages us and each has seen an improvement even tiny from repeating Move. Yes, we know there are other 30 day challenges and the monthly calendar but we love MOVE!

Tried to do day 6 again a la @Shannith . It wasn’t easier!

Shannith · 09/06/2022 09:53

@Sooverthemill me too and gave as as too sore.

I was sore this morning and foolishly slowed day 8 rest to do day 9 as I was pushed for time.

Stupid as I was pretty sore and discouraged. I can do tree - which I have to remind myself I couldn't but it's was not effortless. Feeling a bit bloated and meh today which never helps.

Prestissimo · 09/06/2022 11:26

Day 9 here too. I did plenty of curious falling over in tree pose.

Has anyone read the 'accompanying text' that she sometimes refers to?

ArabeI · 09/06/2022 11:51

May I join please. Just spotted this thread!

Coincidentally I've just started the 'Move' program and finished day two on Tuesday.

Sooverthemill · 09/06/2022 12:05

@ArabeI yes of course! Welcome
@Prestissimo it’s the email she sends out in January along with each session. I don’t often read them

I'm keeping up with the calendar so far this month so have just finished day 9. It seems that more of the earlier ones are around 30 minutes and the later ones are about 20.
This is my third cycle of these early ones and I'm still surprised that I remember so little of the detail. Of course there is a lot of repetition - down dog, child's pose forward fold. However, they mostly seem new and fresh to me every time.
I think it is my menopausal memory. I remember someone with a dementia diagnosis once saying that the only advantage of dementia is you can hide your own Easter eggs. I feel much the same about Adrienne. Every rerun feels like a new adventure.

BestIsWest · 09/06/2022 18:07

I know what you mean about the memory. Occasionally she will say something like ‘I see three cardinals!’ and I remember yes!
Just done 7 and it was lovely.
I think the reason the early ones are so long is that she spends at least 5 minutes talking at the start. I fast forwarded the first couple but then realised that I was benefitting from the slowing down. I’m going to skip 8 and go straight to 9 tomorrow.

Shinyandnew2022 · 09/06/2022 23:22

Day 5 today for me absolutely loved it.
Pigeon ahh
I also enjoyed the down dog to plank then up dog movement a lot

@WorriedMutha this is so funny as I feel the
Same - this is month 6 and I still happily drift along with no idea what's coming
Next.
The only exception is day 6 I seem to remember that one.
The difference is as you said I do sometimes find I know what's coming just due to repetition of the sequences.
Maybe it is menopausal brain - funnily I am about to start HRT so will see if anything changes !

@BestIsWest day 5 was the 'I see three
Cardinals' day so I had that moment today.

WorriedMutha · 10/06/2022 00:39

I have brief moments of familiarity. I will probably remember the 3 cardinals next time. Also when she talked about Rose at the helm of the Titanic. That sparked a memory. I sometimes recognise a pattern on her top and think I've seen this before.

Sooverthemill · 10/06/2022 12:24

Day 7. Gorgeous and again a surprise with odd phrasss I recall. I know what you mean about my body knowing what’s coming next even if my brain doesn’t!

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 10/06/2022 19:21

Day 9. Another lovely one. I could do it all including holding my arms up when doing tree. And I managed to balance almost as long as she does even if my foot wasn’t so high. Big improvement.

Does anyone else get dizzy when going from forward fold to mountain pose? Every single time no matter how slow I take it.

Shinyandnew2022 · 10/06/2022 22:36

Day 6 over and done with today ! Ouch!!
Having said yesterday I remember day 6 I only know it is hard and I am not sure I even did it last month as I remembered so little.

I did do most of it but can't imagine what I was doing 6 months ago !

Looking forward to day 7

guinnessguzzler · 11/06/2022 08:15

Ha, I think I can actually spot the cardinals coming now but mostly remember little of the rest. I'm sure it's because we're all such good yogis and are so in the moment and nothing to do with having a bad memory😂

Just back into it today, honestly this month has been too busy. Determined to stick with it daily now as I have noticed all the old aches and pains returning, worse sleep etc.

Shannith · 11/06/2022 10:23

@BestIsWest I don't get dizzy but I still creak a bit

@guinnessguzzler yes - that's the bit I remember the most! Her Cardinal commentary.

Did day 11 and was pretty stuff and late to start with.

Anyone else have a distinctly non zen shitty committee in their head that works along the lines of

Frustration at not being able to do things
Brief joy at being able to do something you previously couldn't
Immediately putting that in the take it for granted bank and

Focus on something that you "should" be able to do and get frustrated...

And repeat.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 11/06/2022 15:01

I find root to rise makes me feel light headed so I go slowly.
Day 26 with some crazy move that I just don't get. I rewound it several times but I don't think I can turn from tip toe to resting all my weight on the side of my foot.

ArabeI · 11/06/2022 16:07

I did days 3 and 4 on Thursday, but did them after a long exercise class. The combination of that and overstretching (!) in the warrior poses meant I missed yesterday out.

I'll try 5 later.

Prestissimo · 11/06/2022 17:33

Missed 10 yesterday so did it this morning and was grateful for the stretch. Might try a double tomorrow or just consign myself to being a day behind (no biggie).

BestIsWest · 11/06/2022 18:15

10 done. A long one and I got a bit breathless at one point but I managed it, more than I did last time round.

Sooverthemill · 12/06/2022 08:16

Day 9! I didn’t fall over in tree!

Prestissimo · 13/06/2022 15:01

Day 13 - I flew!!! 🦅
Only for a few seconds but I did it twice. Amazing Grin
(Couldn't then do standing split or the half moon thingy very well, but one thing at a time)

Sooverthemill · 13/06/2022 19:39

@Prestissimo thats brilliant! Well done.
I did day 10 and held both feet ( one at a time). I have the most amazing back/ shoulder pain at the moment but still managed to do this which testifies to the power of yoga

OP posts:
Prestissimo · 13/06/2022 19:55

Thanks @Sooverthemill - right back atcha!
I'm really achey at the moment for some reason, but always feel better during/straight after some time on the yoga mat. Testament indeed.

BestIsWest · 13/06/2022 21:00

Well done on the flying! I have day 13 to look forward to tomorrow.

Shannith · 14/06/2022 08:23

@Prestissimo wow that's amazing! Well done!

I've resigned myself to flying being something I can't do. I can do bunny hops but I don't think that counts.

I'm up to day 14 and have been feeling really sore for the last week. So I've been reminding myself to do her text neck one a lot - not because of too much time on my phone but because it's the best I've found for tight trapezium/my extremely wonky right collarbone.

I'm wondering about doing one of her other 30 day ones - has anyone done them? Revolution keeps popping up.

Shannith · 14/06/2022 08:23

I've just seen 15, which I'm about to do, is reset. Perfect.
