Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

OP posts:

I had a bit of trouble today too @MamehaSan. Instead of one large hairy dog occasionally nuzzling me, I had her, plus my mother's mental viszla tumbling around me, whilst licking my face and bringing me balls. Restful it was not.

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 18/01/2020 08:29

Miles behind now as no space to do the last couple. Will make time today though.

UnaOfStormhold · 18/01/2020 11:06

My plan is to connect my TV to my laptop as an extra screen so I can see her wherever I am!

Redpriestandmozart · 18/01/2020 11:39

Day 17, synchronization, thought it was going to be really boring but it really helped me synch my breathing as I am a breath holder. Nothing hard about today, well the chair is a bit wobbly but all good.

daisychain01 · 18/01/2020 19:33

Sorry to,have been absent from this thread and our 30 Day experience. I had a 3 day course until end of yesterday. Felt hurumph that I couldn't practice.

Just did Day 14 and enjoyed it a lot, feels great to be back. I'm going to sneak in Day 15 before dinner Smile

Seems like from everyones update, we're all hanging on in there even when life gets in the way!

@Sooverthemill hope your daughter is still OK, saw your little update upthread, sounds like she is xx

Sooverthemill · 18/01/2020 21:25

@daisychain01 sorry you got sidetracked hope you can get back into it, I think you will enjoy it. DD is relatively stable now though still rubbish nights

UnaOfStormhold · 18/01/2020 22:26

Couldn't really get into the first half of the practice - mind a bit distracted, my back was a bit stiff and those arm movements were not really doing much for me. But the second half seemed to work better physically and mentally.

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 19/01/2020 09:24

Really losing my flow now - 3 days off and my awful chest infection seems to be creeping back in. Just wondered if anyone could suggest some of Adriene's videos from the past that are very gentle, 20-30mins, just so I can keep doing something and making this time for myself. Thanks Flowers

Sooverthemill · 19/01/2020 09:49

@kinky look after yourself first and foremost

She has a 20-30 minute playlist here and of those I would recommend
30 days of yoga surrender
Revolution day 22
And revolution day 8.

Sooverthemill · 19/01/2020 09:51

So I was up at 6.30 and DH got up at 9! No time then to do the proper day . A bit cross but he must have needed the sleep ( one of us has to be on duty') so I just did a five minute practice and may double up tomorrow if I can. Grr

mimiasovitch · 19/01/2020 10:46

Found today's quite hard. I had a mega busy day in work yesterday and woke up aching all over, but I think it will have done me some good, even though my arms are feeling it a bit. I always find 3 legged dog awkward for some reason, but I did get my right leg up to a lunge today! Left leg nowhere near still.

KinkyDoritowithsparkleson · 19/01/2020 10:54

Thanks Soover Flowers

Redpriestandmozart · 19/01/2020 15:29

I too found today's quite hard. The one-legged pose is always going to be difficult for me as I have balance problems but I managed to get each leg about 10 inches off the ground very precariously. I was more than delighted for child's pose, I could have stayed there for hours.

daisychain01 · 19/01/2020 18:02

Hi all, happy Sunday.

I'm still a bit behind the schedule and have 3 to catch up, I managed Day 16 today and tomorrow I've promised myself to finish work a bit early and get 2 done tomorrow, then 2 on Tues so I will be back in synch on Wednesday.

I found today's session quite a challenge, lots of the Downdog, lunge, reverse combos. By the end I felt well and truly wrung out with the twisting! Should sleep well tonight.

poorbuthappy · 19/01/2020 18:20

Didn't enjoy today at all. Seem to have lost my balance and zen completely.
Ah well 1st day out of the whole month. Not bad!

UnaOfStormhold · 19/01/2020 20:12

Having been very much out of step with yesterday's practice I really enjoyed today! My back is getting better on and off the mat so, while I still have to be careful with cobras (reading that back, that sounds like a good idea!), I can do things like reaching up in warrior 1 without arching my back and putting strain on it, which feels good.

I don't know if you saw the intro video/interview that she did but towards the end of it Benjy does a beautiful downward dog that I now have in my mind when in the pose.

Hope you manage to find a nice soothing practice kinkydoritos - there's such a wealth of material out there!

sycamore54321 · 19/01/2020 20:54

I didn't check in here yesterday but I did the important bit - completing day 16, this time with a friend in tow. My friend used to be hugely into yoga but practices less nowadays so I was waiting for her to be a bit dismissive of Adriane and felt all validated when she said she loved it! I agree with whoever said the endless arms at the start of day 16 didn't quite hit the spot, but otherwise I liked it.

I stuck with the schedule and did day 17 this evening, which I really enjoyed. Adriane seems to manage to judge me quite well - just as I'm about to start wobbling or collapsing, she pipes up with "one more breath" or "you've got this" which really helps me. I very much enjoyed the balancing, and the various flows through plank - I have plenty of room for improvement on both but I can definitely see progress since day 1.

It has really become a firm habit for me now. Thanks to all here for the motivation!

Redpriestandmozart · 20/01/2020 07:44

Day 19 done, 6 am this morning before work, it was brutal for a Monday morning, all those planks, otherwise some nice moves. That's what I get for complaining that last Monday I was in fear of falling asleep!!! On a positive note, each day I feel stronger both mentally and physically.

UnaOfStormhold · 20/01/2020 08:12

It's slightly daunting that the pose in the email is crow pose... But at least I know to bring some padding so I can feel a bit more confident about not tipping forward this time!

Sooverthemill · 20/01/2020 08:37

I e done day 8 as I'm now a day behind. Not as bad as I feared as I've not really done any balances for a couple of months. Yay me!

Sooverthemill · 20/01/2020 08:52

Grr day 18

daisychain01 · 20/01/2020 21:08

I did Day 17 Synchronise this evening, still a bit behind but hanging in there!

How did Adriene know I've spent the whole of today on the computer - there were lots of arms and shoulder stretches which were much needed, with some cat cow to stretch out my back and bum muscles. And then a few warriors to finish! Lushhhhh!

sycamore54321 · 20/01/2020 21:50

Just realised I got the days long on my previous post. Amazingly, I am still up to date and have just completed day 19, balance.

I don't know who decides the YouTube cover shot but they always seem to select the most extreme pose which is v off-putting. I mostly enjoyed today, although I may not be doing the first sequence of arms correctly as it just feels very pointless to me still. I also didn't much enjoy the prolonged poses when balancing on our toes at the end - I was getting horrid pins and needles in one leg, which didn't help.

Nonetheless, I'm utterly chuffed with myself at managing to keep on track with this every day and I give full credit to this thread for ensuring my attendance here every evening.

UnaOfStormhold · 20/01/2020 22:23

Sycamore I agree on both the being happy to be on track and the being a bit put off by the cover shot! I enjoyed the toe stand but my crow was definitely not flying today which is frustrating as earlier in the month it felt close for the first time ever - today it felt really uncomfortable where my knees were pressing on the backs of my arms and not a position I felt like taking further. But there were options!

Does Benjy sleep all the time or just during yoga videos?

Redpriestandmozart · 21/01/2020 07:45

Day 20 done, wow feels good to say that. Another 30 minute morning, some easy for me, some not so, just couldn't get to grips with the Superman pose on the floor, but hey I just do my own thing and won't be defeated.

Some day I want Benji to look out that window and go ballistic just like my dog would do but I guess he is pretty chilled out.
