Not much work and low pay but not much choice if you can't go out to work unfortunately.

I'm back in now but nothing from the letter I had been doing has been saved.

Marlo52 · 28/05/2025 15:13

Its happening with me too. Hopefully it resolves soon.

olddoglover · 28/05/2025 15:15

@Gally123 - poor you - I was lucky that mine saved. It's just the luck of the draw I think. I actually got an email from TP saying it was sorted and apologised - that's a first!

@olddoglover I wasn't that far into the letters but it was a long one. I've kept it in WIP for now and will do a few shorter ones until I am confident there are no hiccups. I also got a reply to my message, saying should be okay now.

carosel2 · 28/05/2025 19:33

Ive had no problems but then only been on two hospitals, wonder if its a certain hospital, however I tried looking back at previous letters for help yesterday and it said I couldnt view as didn't have authority and it happened on a few different letters

Gally123 · 29/05/2025 07:52

@carosel2 I have had that at times, annoying when the doctor wants you to cut and paste previous diagnosis and you cannot get access

Gally123 · 30/07/2024 17:40

@1AnotherOne - it's working from home, typing. DICT8 is a medical transcription company, there's also Accuro and WeType as well. I've tried Wetype and would not recommend it as you need your own software.

Id love to do wfh typing

How would i get into this pls

Gally123 · 29/05/2025 11:23

@worldwidetravel2017 depending on the company you apply to, you need several years experience as a medical secretary in the NHS (some stipulate 5 years or 7 years etc). You may need a reference from your last consultant. You should apply to them via their website and you may need to do a typing test.

Gally123 · 02/06/2025 10:47

I forgot it was (another) bank holiday in Ireland today

Marlo52 · 05/06/2025 09:10

I got paid today :-)

Unfortunately i dont have that

olddoglover · 12/06/2025 10:21

Really annoying pop up "got a question can I help" from the messaging icon when I click on creating a duplicate letter or past history to check for a drug. Completely unnecessary.

OP posts:
Gally123 · 12/06/2025 10:25

@olddoglover I've noticed that. Also I asked a question of my TL last week, however I noted my question was given a number and I was answered by helpdesk who obviously intervened - helpfully and correctly as it turned out. But it does beg the question - are we no longer able to contact our TLs for anything?

olddoglover · 12/06/2025 10:29

@Gally123 Yes things do seem to be changing again. I am also wondering what is going to happen when this "Save and continue" comes into effect (message about it last week) Will we just have a list and go through them one by one and save and continue and get given our next task, stopping us have any choice of which tasks to do. Which is actually what I was told to do when I first started, but soon realised that not everyone was doing that!

OP posts:
Gally123 · 12/06/2025 10:34

@olddoglover I'm hoping it will be more about saving changes before you are ready to submit a letter. I'm more concerned by the ever decreasing lack of work. Some days there seems to be no clinics running!

olddoglover · 12/06/2025 10:36

@Gally123 yes, it seems more and more specialties are disappearing.... soon there will be none. I used to do loads of neuro and pain that everyone else seemed to leave and now they have almost disappeared

OP posts:
carosel2 · 12/06/2025 16:41

@olddoglover - yes ive noticed that too so is it that help desk are sorting our queries instead of TL now but surely we should be informed not to contact TLs in future with any questions. I tackled a letter the other day that was all Americanised. The doc is foreign and very difficult to understand so it hadnt picked up their dictation so thought that was weird

olddoglover · 12/06/2025 16:43

@carosel2 we never get told anything!

OP posts:
olddoglover · 13/06/2025 13:44

@Gally123 - I have a feeling it won't even be by the helpdesk, think it will just be a bot. Just tried to contact a firm about stock issues and the bot is useless and just go round in circles, made me think that is prob what TP are doing.

OP posts:
Gally123 · 13/06/2025 13:58

@olddoglover yes I had a useless bot going round in circles when I had an ebay query/issue, and gave up. However, I can say it was deffo a person who intercepted by query to TL and sorted out the problem and replied. What amazed me was he did it very quickly (in about 10 mins) and never asked the usual 100 questions as to which consultant, which hospital, time of dictation, task ID, name of dictator, name and number of patient etc etc.

carosel2 · 17/06/2025 14:37

Sent my TL a message the other day and still have not had a reply? Gone on today to see how long ago she was on line and it said 4days, so may be on holiday, however, gone back in after lunch and the whole messages have been deleted from everyone with just that new message icon now to use with no TL from anyone, how bizarre, anyone else noticed this

olddoglover · 17/06/2025 17:41

Yes they can't seem to make up their mind about the messaging system. I suppose you will just have to send the message and they will allocate to someone as they see fit. Keep us posted how you get on

OP posts:
Gally123 · 17/06/2025 17:45

@carosel2 as I mentioned previously when I asked my TL a question it was intercepted by helpdesk, although they did actually answer quick quickly and got the task done. I wonder if perhaps they are cutting down on TLs and deciding they don't need them all? Previously TLs have informed when they were going on holiday. It's all a bit strange at the moment. The amount of work seems to be getting less and less.

carosel2 · 17/06/2025 22:28

@olddoglover - I will ive also noticed it states ask a quick question and we will send you a list of possible answers! Ive resent it. Il keep you posted @Gally123 - yes I agree about TLs and holidays, they want us to let them know if we arent available but should they not do the same and ive noticed a dramatic loss of work recently too

carosel2 · 17/06/2025 22:38

Just logged on and my message has come back with a list of so called answers! And none relevant to a transcriber! It looks like its messages are actually meant for the clients. Ive replied and it said dont understand your query! Oh dear!
