Waiting for interview outcome thread!

Hi all!

im patiently waiting for the outcome of my interview that i had yesterday. They said by the end of the week/early next week. Came out of it feeling positive but the more time that goes on the more im feeling that I actually didn’t do as well as I first thought.

I always feel like that after an interview. Feel great immediately after and then as time goes on the anxiety creeps in. There's nothing more you can do now though, hopefully you'll find out sooner rather than later. Good luck!

I interviewed last week, found out the next day I got the job but I'm not allowed to tell anyone yet.

I came out the interview feeling really positive, so OP keep that positive feeling! Trust your gut.

I do interim work so have a lot of interviews. I've noticed the hiring teams are taking longer to feed back / make decisions.

In the last two weeks I've had interviews for three roles. Afterwards, one was silent for over a week before scheduling a second interview, one called me back quickly for second interview and has now gone silent, and for the third, they are contemplating a second round of informal interviews with a senior staff member who couldnt attend the first round.

If it's dragging on I have usually assumed they are negotiating with another candidate but keeping everyone else on the back burner but now I am thinking they are just all very disorganised or it's in a state of chaos.

I’m an NHS nurse and nursing was my first real job (trained at 18) and it’s been 2 years since my last interview. The NHS is usually same day but this is an academic role so the wait is killing me!🫣

Yes! I posted on this earlier today. I had a second round interview last Thursday, was promised I'd hear by Tuesday latest but the agent still hasn't heard from the recruiting manager. They have been a bit slow during the whole process so I'm hoping it's just that as like you, I came out feeling positive but now am having to battle to silence any doubting voices in my head!

Yes, me too. Interviewed last week. I was told I would hear back by the end of the week. It's an internal promotion, so they have to let me know one way or the other. I had to do a presentation which I think went well, but then with the questions, I'm not sure if I gave them the answers they were looking for.

Ooh can I join in? I had mine last Friday and they thought they might be able to let us know Tuesday … still not heard. It’s for a role I’ve not done for a while so I’m not holding out much hope, and yes the waiting is the worst! I’ve (almost) managed to convince myself I haven’t got it, that way it won’t be so upsetting.

Also waiting after three rounds, last one was last week. Feedback was good throughout but they have now gone silent on me. I have since been made redundant so this has now gone from “Que sera” to somewhat stressful, but mostly I just really liked both the job and the people so would be a shame not to get it.

My wife didn't get the job. For context she's a newly qualified teacher and had an interview for a permanent job at the school she's been working in temporarily for this school year. She was given good feedback and was told she scored top out of the newly qualified teachers and scored 4th overall. I'm sad 😟

How does a newly qualified teacher gain experience when the only interview she was given was for a school she already worked in? All other schools declined her application because they had over 400 applications each 😭

Congratulations and commiserations to you both. For me they had said (last) Tuesday so I’m a bit bummed I haven’t heard yet, called 4.45 after I’d got home but they had closed. A difficult weekend for us who are left!

I've got at least a week to wait because they're interviewing somebody else next week. They were very nice as a panel and the culture sounds really positive, but I'm worried that my full-blown uneducated ADHD train of thought with the sheer volume of information flying round my head as I'm talking and the waving around of my hands as I'm explaining some technical aspects of something has just put them off hiring an ageing lunatic.

They did make a point of saying at the end that they are a genuinely inclusive employer, and I don't doubt that they sussed me out straight away when I opened my mouth...and they did mention regarding and tailoring the role to particular experience...but still...they could employ somebody who doesn't sound like an overexcitable ten year old in person & stressed, but a calm, reasonable professional on paper and when she's not in an alien situation.

Maybe the other person will drop out?

I don't think anyone would believe how long I've been waiting for a third round interview date (it's been well over a month!), they've reassured me I'm through but are saying there are delays. It's for my dream role so I'm happy to wait. I'm used to just refreshing my email inbox a million times a day. It's horrible. I'm there with you all, it's ever so distracting from the rest of your life, waiting to hear on a decision that feels like could change the course of your life.

I had an interview this week (and I didn’t get the job) but I thought I might have been a bit ott with how stressful I found the waiting bit…so I am sort of happy to hear others find it awful too. Although I wish it wasn’t awful for any of you.

I didn’t hear back today. I have a feeling I didn’t get the job, and that’s ok. Not getting my hopes up

I’m in this boat too! I had my final interview last Thursday after four rounds and a panel presentation, don’t think I’ve got it as they were deciding between me and another candidate and now have gone silent. Hopefully I hear back either way at some point next week but I’m pretty set that I’m not getting an offer now. I’ve heard ghosting after interviews is becoming more and more common, I’d be so frustrated after having put in hours of my time preparing and attending interviews if that happened so fingers crossed I get out of my misery at least 😂🤦🏽‍♀️
