Waiting for interview outcome thread!

Hi all!

im patiently waiting for the outcome of my interview that i had yesterday. They said by the end of the week/early next week. Came out of it feeling positive but the more time that goes on the more im feeling that I actually didn’t do as well as I first thought.

anyone else waiting for an interview outcome?😁

It’s good to hear that people are getting job offers after waiting a few weeks from the interview.

I had an interview for a part time job on the 3rd June. Said would hear latest by 10th. So far no feedback. My sil works at same firm and has done for 15 years and she said HR can be slow. I also got the impression at the interview that the hiring manager was super busy. Did take them just over 2 weeks from closing date to invite to interview.

would really like the job though, as lots of future opportunities. Am still looking and think I will just apply to other jobs over weekend. Would just closure if it’s a no, so can move on.

I got through to the next round of the job I was most interested in! After a week and a half of waiting following sending them a technical take home case study, I was just about to chase them up as I was thinking "how can it take them longer to look at it than it took me to do the bloody thing!"
Also got a first call for another one that sounds promising.
Good luck @Brightlights23 the waiting and being able to do nothing is the worst! Could be worth chasing them up next week? I am also like you in that I've been trying to apply for more things so I'm not too disappointed when I don't get things and have others in the pipeline. But I don't want to interview for 5 jobs at the same time, it's so time consuming. Currently already have a full time job too.

I got a provisional offer on the back of my interview now I need to pass referencing and security (civil service). I am feeling happy!

I think I will contact them mid week, if I haven’t heard anything. Have been saving possible jobs on indeed to apply to this week as back up plan. Have a really busy week work wise this week, and am very keen to get a new job to replace my current main 20 hours a week one by September

Waiting to hear from an interview I had on Friday last week. I’m sure the waiting to hear if I’ve been successful is worse than the actual interview itself 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just an update - my last posts here were quite pessimistic, but just over a week later I got offered TWO roles at the same place and had to choose one. It's funny how often the opportunity arrives just after you get to your lowest point.

I'm starting on Monday, which is perfect as I get to say I start in June (which makes a smaller CV gap) and there's some things I'd like to do this week that I can still do.

I had an email from the interviewer today requesting a 15 minute catch-up tomorrow over Teams for interview feedback.

So I am hopefully that this could positive and they might offer me the job.

shall find out tomorrow.

I do think waiting to hear is worse than the interview.

I’ve just found out I have an interview for a job I really really want (local authority, working with young people/ children’s services not social work) but I’m so worried about the interview as I’ve not succeeded in the last two jobs I’ve interviewed for and my confidence is a bit low, mind goes blank etc. Any advice for these types of interview? Including a young persons panel! Arghhhh xx

Go through likely questions and practise answers (STAR format.) You probably have examples of things you've done you can adapt to more than question.

Make notes/bullet points and take them in with you to remind yourself.

I have three interviews this week and feel so demotivated. One is CS and very involved - need to prep and prepare a presentation. One is online for a big U.K. company and another an informal chat to ensure I’m a good fit, large international and a step up.

I’m signed off with stress and trying to agree an end to my current role - new manager is awful and I’m not the first to leave because of it. I’m a little heart broken at the treatment after all the effort, so I’m struggling to perform in interviews if they ask about my current responsibilities. Nerves got me in one 2nd interview that would have been amazing, and another gave me vibes of being similar to my current job. I just need a basic reference and worried about mentioning stress leave.

I had my feedback catch up today and it was a no. Needed more technical knowledge.

interveiwer said to contact her if would like a chat about any other jobs that come up. Job description did not reflect how technical job was due to large data.

came across well so good interview practice of nothing else.

off to search online for jobs to apply to this week!

Im still waiting to hear. It’s only been 2 days but the waiting is driving me mad. Just would like to know one way or the other.

Was offered the position today after waiting 10 days.
