Face to face hyphenated is absolutely ridiculous, what difference does it make anyway and its certainly not a clinical error! Just do what I do, ignore, smile and carry on as usual. Yes perhaps proof readers (or even proofreaders) are all American!

Whitestar55 · 22/01/2024 10:21

Once again, looking on the bright side hyphens = more characters for the line count!

OP posts:
Gally123 · 22/01/2024 10:24

@Whitestar55 really? A hyphen just takes a space. Face-to-face. Face to face. Small character count as far as I can see.

Gally123 · 22/01/2024 11:08

same character count I meant. Sorry.

Pinksville · 23/01/2024 13:10

I truly thought it couldn't get any worse than the RTX scenario, how very very wrong I was 😫

Lovemydaxie · 26/01/2024 14:39

Absolutely nothing at all on dict8 today, even worse than usual. Everyone else the same or is it just my specialities?

Pinksville · 26/01/2024 18:56

Same here, been struggling for the last few days 🙄

Lovemydaxie · 26/01/2024 19:27

@Pinksville hopeless isn't it. I haven't even made £100 yet this month 😕

Doglover61 · 26/01/2024 20:02

Same here, very quiet today. Always been hit and miss since October. Long gone are the long lists of tasks to be done. It seems to be one letter every 10 minutes or half an hour, and sometimes no letters for a couple of hours.

Gally123 · 27/01/2024 10:38

I had work showing but the quality was really poor.

Lovemydaxie · 27/01/2024 17:25

Oddly enough I've had work today, not much but more than yesterday.

Pinksville · 28/01/2024 09:37

I wonder whether this is a consequence of the strike. I have done quite a few letters (if you can call them that !) where the doctor has incorporated two/three outpatient appointments in one letter ! Overall my list continues to be appalling.

danblack87 · 28/01/2024 13:34

I had plenty on but the quality of dictation was so poor/quiet I gave them all a miss. I always type face-to-face/day-to-day. I got pulled up on DNA'd. I have typed it that way for years .... NO, apparently now it is DNAd??????

Chrissols · 28/01/2024 14:06

@danblack87 I have never known DNAd typed in that way in 40 years working in the NHS? I think they need to have a word with these folk that check our work as some of it is just ludicrous......

Pinksville · 28/01/2024 17:57

@danblack87 Both can be used (according to my AI companion). I just put DNA because I want to spoil the fun for the smug micro-managing proofreaders 😂

Gally123 · 28/01/2024 21:39

@danblack87 I type DNAed and not been pulled up on it.

Doglover61 · 29/01/2024 10:43

@danblack87 They have become petty over the most trivial of things I have typed the same way for the NHS and on here for years. Clearly got nothing to do now the GSTT contract has gone, so they have more time to nitpick people's work.

cathyk2002 · 29/01/2024 13:04

Barely made £7 since this morning, very quiet. Probably pick up at 4pm when I log off🙄

Australia25 · 30/01/2024 17:30

Today’s telling off was typing too many paragraphs!

Pinksville · 31/01/2024 09:41

Ha Ha @Australia25 mine was not enough! FFS 🙄

sueinessex · 31/01/2024 10:44

Hi, I've been typing for Dict8 since 2009 (no pay rise in all that time)! and I always type 'letter to GP'. If they name the GP I type 'Dr Smith, General Practioner' so I get more lines!!!

Cherryblossom114 · 31/01/2024 11:04

Got this back then
The following were found in transcripts that you typed:
Transcribed but not dictated

  • 2021
  • Typed: General Practitioner Dictated: GP
🤔
Whitestar55 · 01/02/2024 10:59

Never mind having someone to transcribe their dictation and proofreaders to check it, most of them need someone to actually speak it for them, I honestly didn't think it could get any worse, but it has. Seriously fed up with this now.

@Whitestar55 I hear you.

I gave up this week. I do feel DICT8 have addressed some issues. The doctors are now dictating in quiet spaces (on my list) but unfortunately those dictating these letters do not have basic English (on my list). Some are mumbling and slurring diagnoses/drugs/pt names and several times over the last 14 days I have had to ALTN about drug doses and drug names. Letters are all over the place and most are in note form. I will not even touch letters about cancer patients now unless I can hear the staging and diagnosis clearly.

Newinmarch22 · 05/02/2024 09:54

Invoice submitted Friday morning, still no payment!
