@tryingcouchto5K no payment for me either ? Can't understand this company great fanfare about being paid BACs which millions of people have been paid by for centuries and then this ??? waiting for payment for work already done ???? just press the f*%king button already 😡we have a cost of living crisis FGS. So angry. This company needs to be more transparent. Let us know when BACs can be expected in our accounts FGS.

YellowBellyLola · 11/10/2023 10:03

@Pinksville @tryingcouchto5K I hope you've been paid now??

Billybea · 11/10/2023 10:33

My speciality has been mega quiet for 2 days now! There are no strikes on and I’m sat here twiddling my thumbs! Anybody else? What’s going on?!

Pinksville · 11/10/2023 10:43

@YellowBellyLola Yes thank you !!!!! Same amount of time as a cheque though 😩put me in the red for a few days. I was so angry (you might have noticed ) and have spent the last few days applying for jobs (apparently who guarantee payment on the same day every month) can't carry on like this what with the dreadful work on offer and the added insult of their
pay as and when they like attitude ✊

VillageGirl1982 · 11/10/2023 15:34

Hi!

I've been following this thread for a while, working for Dict8 since 2018. Nice to join in!

This week has been dead for me too. I even emailed Dict8 for an update and was told workloads are always low after strikes, but she fully expects to see the workload return to normal. I seem to remember it being busy after the previous strikes. Very frustrating. I didn't want a week off work!

Gally123 · 11/10/2023 16:29

had some of their feedback today about an error I made this morning. not sure I remembered typing the phrase highlighted but I felt like replying - no pay rise in over 10 years, you pay rubbish, the dictation is rubbish so I am not surprised if some of my typing is rubbish; you get what you pay for.

tryingcouchto5K · 11/10/2023 17:04

yellowBellyLola yes! - thank you. Payment came through eventually. I think those that put the invoice in on the 1st seemed to have immediate payment and for those that put it through 2nd/3rd, it took longer - I'll send the invoice on the 1st from now on as I too went into the red with a direct debit.

Billybea · 11/10/2023 18:42

@VillageGirl1982 strangely enough I seem to remember it being quiet after a previous strike but there’s no rhyme or reason as to why?! Especially when DURING the last 3 day strike I was just as busy as I work for a lot of nurses, so where have they all gone this week? It just doesn’t make sense!

Pinksville · 11/10/2023 19:01

@Gally123 couldn't agree more. I don't bother going out of my way to guess the word/sentence/whole letter. Nope. If I cannot hear it first time round not my problem. Crap work, crap pay = no effort made here anymore.

cathyk2002 · 12/10/2023 11:50

Quiet today, probably all come in at teatime or so when I call a halt !!!🙄 Be a short pay month I suspect

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 11:43

I type Cardiology and its been dead for nearly two weeks now I think in total I have typed around 20 letters in two weeks, mostly from Guys and St Thomas' I wonder if they have changed to voice recognition services instead ?

Lollybaz · 18/10/2023 12:16

OMG me too! It's driving me nuts! Even an email asking them "why" doesn't answer any questions! I've NEVER known it this bad apart from COVID times ofc. Something isn't right I don't care what they say. 🤬🤬

Lollybaz · 18/10/2023 12:42

Ladies, you might find this interesting ....
@Botesdale re your comment about GSTT hospital, & voice recognition, I googled it and guess what! On 5th October they went live with a brand new "game changing" electronic patient record system across GSTT & KCH which is called EPIC. What's the chances it has incorporated a different way of dictation too? Makes sense as Ive never know it so dead and let's face it DICT8 never tell us the truth! Watch this space !

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 12:56

That makes sense then as all the work died around that time, I haven't had anything from GSTT or their sister clinics like Bexley either! DICT8 are a disgrace they should let us know there is going to be a downturn in work!!

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 13:00

I have just googled EPIC at GSTT and it does incorporate voice recognition! Looks like I will be looking for other work

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 13:07

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Selects Nuance Dragon Medical One As Part of a Large-Scale Digital Transformation One of the U.K.'s largest NHS Foundation Trusts integrates Nuance AI-powered speech recognition technology into its Epic EHR to replace paper documentation and consolidate patient records

cathyk2002 · 18/10/2023 14:53

Hopefully it will have gliches, I mean as in medical terminology as some not easily recognisable til you listen a few times

Lollybaz · 18/10/2023 14:54

Told ya! It's been dead since the strikes which ties up with 5/10. It's so dead now and makes total sense. So why can't Dict8 have the decency to tell us!

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 15:38

Looks like the way forward is to join a company where you cut and paste the dictation into letters and then proof read, our trust tried that years ago and it takes longer!!

Botesdale · 18/10/2023 15:41

Its crazy why they don't tell us! I assume they have the system whereby the work has to be cut and pasted into documents ie a letter, report or op note, if this is landing back with their secretaries they won't be happy. It was trialled at my old NHS trust and they ended up scrapping it as the whole process took longer, especially when you still had to proof read and listen to the dictation, utter madness!!

Lollybaz · 18/10/2023 16:03

And I'm sure more letters will be thrown back as the voice recognition won't recognise a lot of the foreign doctors accents! It's bad enough when we try and decipher them let alone a machine! I'm sure the secretaries will be happy about taking on this task! NOT! Maybe someone should ask DICT8 outright as we have proof now we've lost GSTT as I'm getting nowhere with them.

FizzyStream · 19/10/2023 10:06

Well that explains a lot! I have three specialities on Dict8 and all are dead esp this morning! Came here to see what was afoot and now I can assume what the problem is. What a nightmare Angry

Chrissols · 19/10/2023 13:08

Out of interest, how long is it taking for folk to get paid? I was late submitting my invoice but it has been sat there over a week and nothing is happening?

Botesdale · 19/10/2023 14:25

Mine was paid into my account within 2 days so happy with that, although probably won't be submitting many more !!
