Boiler man been to fix boiler. Work on but nothing worth listening to/ Off to clean my living room carpet with the steamer! Oh, Cheque arrived on Tuesday this week after being processed the Tuesday B4 ... I assume it was due to postal strikes. Grand-daughter arriving at 4pm so no chance of me getting any work done today. :(

At least its fixed before winter, we had to suffer what its like with no heating or hot water this past winter (March time I think) it wasn't pleasant but better then than this year as the electric fans would have cost us more.

Not worked today, was in A&E until late last night 12 - 9.30, ish with hubby, 3 fractured ribs and a bruised lung, so my life just got a little more busier than usual and what with the news at the moment, its not easy to think about work really. just logged on to see whats available 1 letter, er i made a good choice i guess. I'm ahead though, the sad thing was so much could have been added on to my day yesterday work wise to make up for time off but thats the breaks isn't it?

Frazzledbynature · 09/09/2022 15:25

*electric heaters what am i saying fans was summer doh!

danblack87 · 10/09/2022 09:05

@Frazzledbynature : Sounds like you have been having the same fun and games as me LOL. Was your hubby in a car accident. I'll take a look and see what is on - I am actually about £40 down following yesterday. I'll see how I feel 😉

Raisingboys22 · 10/09/2022 09:59

Still haven’t received my cheque from the 1st! Damn strikes

Kelsn89 · 10/09/2022 11:44

Just started dict8 is it worth it?

Gally123 · 10/09/2022 13:08

@Raisingboys22 I got my cheque a few days ago and rushed up the post office this morning so that they could send it off to the bank only to be told that it would not go as although all the strikes had been cancelled officially some were still striking and there would be no collections today, even though the official strike day ( that was called off) was yesterday.

He has osteoarthritis (due to previous more severe health issues) and is currently taking Denosumab which has weakened his bones for a few weeks following the injection. He had a disagreement with the side panel of a shed he was putting up and it fractured three of his ribs and bruised his lung. Doc asked him why it took him 3 weeks to go to be seen. truth is, its not the first time he's broke ribs due to his condition but on this occasion he felt a little swelling and i was concerned due to his medication it may have been more severe. He is a very disobedient patient and i'm not a nice nurse apparently lol.

Oh no, not good. I'm trying to get my monthly figure done in time to cover this sort of delay but with the looks of them delaying and the strikes we are all down the swanny aren't we, not good given the need of it at the moment. :(

Raisingboys22 · 12/09/2022 17:00

Argh it’s ridiculous, still not received

Lunnunis · 12/09/2022 18:45

Hi all, I am new here, been working for Dict8 for nearly six years since I retired from the NHS, trying to do 500 lines a day most days. I love working from home where I can please myself and not have to jump through hoops to prove I can do my job every year, to name but one of the problems of working for the NHS! There will be less pressure on me to make my targets once the state starts to pay me my pension (yes WASPI woman here).

Dict 8 pay is very mean, only 8p a line (if they are paying any of you more I want to know!) and never increases.

At least Dict8 have taken a small step into modern times recently by letting us invoice electronically, although we still have to receive a quaint cheque from Coutts Bank through the post that has to be taken to the bank. I am not too happy right now as the latest cheque hasn't arrived, although it was apparently issued on the 1st of this month according to my payment record! Will be emailing in the morning if it doesn't turn up. My contract says they have 28 days to pay. But I've normally been paid within about a week.

Frazzledbynature · 13/09/2022 09:15

I'm wondering if its worth contacting them and asking if they would consider bank transfers, if nothing its through need of the money to see us through these hard times. Not everyone uses Dict8 for extra income, its very much needed for others, me included. I don't look at it as a full time job, if that's what i wanted i would have looked for something that pays well. But still, earnings are earnings, and they should be prompt in sending out cheques. Last month i sent mine out earlier but still had to wait until after the bank holiday to see if it had cleared, my bank promises the next working day but i don't see that either.

Cheques are totally last century when it comes to tech, my goodness, don't we use a system that sends things through instantly? Its rediculous.

Hi Frazzledbynature. Can't seem to get back on with my first username Lunnunis, I was forced to create a new one...hope that doesn't happen every time.
The cheque arrived this morning, fortunately. Of course it should all be done by bank transfers. I used to put my bank details on the invoices at first in the hope they would do this, but no. The envelope I got today was clearly marked '2', presumably as in 2nd class. I don't remember if this was the case before, I don't remember noticing it.

I just happened to have my folder beside me with an old cheque still inside the envelope from July, you are right it states 2 also!

Frazzledbynature · 13/09/2022 13:26

I've not been feeling great today so just got my quota completed and "indulged" in a few clear available letters but now its time to relax. Taking my son out to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park tomorrow, he loves anything with animals. He deserves a break as we've not been far this year. Be back to read and catch up Thursday hopefully no drama has occured lol.

I want you all paid by then too!

Lunnuni · 13/09/2022 14:12

That's nice, today seems quite good weather, at least here in Shropshire. Have a lovely time.
I have sent them an email saying I only got my cheque today and asking if we will be back to the usual payment time next month. I will let you know what they say.

Raisingboys22 · 13/09/2022 15:32

Im
going to email them too because I’ve still not received!

Workingfromhomenow · 13/09/2022 15:51

@Lunnuni I’m in Shropshire too - enjoying the nice weather, which means I’m neglecting the typing. You do very well to do 500 lines a day. I can usually only manage 200 or so before I’ve had enough. I do more when the weather’s wet.

Lunnuni · 14/09/2022 08:18

I think the main staff may have gone on hols. Flagged up an untypable one and got no reply yesterday evening(a first). Two more inaudible tasks there this morning, I have notified them. Meanwhile the person I emailed yesterday did not really read my email before replying. It wasn't the usual lady. Never mind, hopefully back to normal service soon.

Raisingboys22 · 14/09/2022 16:16

Does anyone type Ophthalmology? I haven’t saw anything for a couple of days

Indiepops · 14/09/2022 16:20

Hi I've not been on for a while due to my other half being unwell. Hope everyone is ok. Work seems to be picking up on dict8 now doesn't it. It's taken a while!

Indiepops · 14/09/2022 16:28

Hi Lunnuni - apologies if that's wrong, I haven't got my glasses on lol. Dict8 have paid 8p a line since they started in 2003!! Shocking isn't it!

Newinmarch22 · 14/09/2022 18:19

Yes I do ophthalmology and hardly any for past couple of days, just the odd one

Raisingboys22 · 15/09/2022 13:26

So strange isn’t it @Newinmarch22
