I had my typing test for TPro yesterday. How long do they usually take to get back to you?

Chrissols · 19/08/2020 12:49

@charlie1424 I can't answer that as when I took mine we were just going into lock-down so I only started with them this week.

Ahh ok will wait and see. I found the test files ok its just getting used to different specialities isnt it

Chrissols · 19/08/2020 13:17

Yes, I have typed several specialities in my working life, but somehow they have managed to give me several I have no experience whatsoever in lol.......lots of googling

Chrissols, how are you getting on with TPro. I like the variety of work personally. Haven't found the accents too challenging at the moment. Stacks and stacks of work isnt there

Chrissols · 19/08/2020 14:18

@Lucylizzy123 I'm finding it slow going lol, mainly because out of all the specialities I have done in the past, they seem to have given me completely new ones so it is a bit challenging to say the least. I will keep going. Yes, the work went down to 1700 tasks last night and I thought is this where it starts getting low.....back up to 2500 this morning 😂😂😂😂

Lucylizzy123 · 19/08/2020 14:27

Yes, there are lots of specialties, and my favourite ones don't seem to appear so much at the moment! Dont mind too much, but there are certain things they like that are the total opposite of things Dict8 like - ie commas after YS, DearDr, not having to type words out in full if that is how they are dictated. A different mind set isnt it.

Chrissols · 19/08/2020 14:35

We must have different hospitals/line managers, as I have been told to type all words out in full if they are abbreviated in the dictation. Haven't been getting any feedback today, so that can only be a good sign as they have been going out of QC 😀

Hardly any feeback for me today either. It is like being under the microscope a bit though isnt it.

charlie1424 · 19/08/2020 14:52

I have a tutorial arranged for a few weeks time, looking forward to getting started 😀

Lucylizzy123 · 19/08/2020 15:25

That's great. They seem good to work for, and absolutely loads of work available.

Thats great to hear 😀
Gally123 · 19/08/2020 16:03

I must give T-Pro a nudge, still waiting to hear after I was put on hold, and there has been little work with DICT8 so far this week.

Meha5 · 19/08/2020 16:59

@Gally123 - I'm still waiting to hear from T-Pro too, when did you apply ?

Gally123 · 19/08/2020 17:09

@Meha5 - I was in conversation with them in March and was waiting for them to send through the typing test when it all got put on hold - how about you?

Meha5 · 19/08/2020 20:25

@Gally123 I applied days before lockdown. I think by the scant amount of tasks I'm getting I am going to need something else soon so might reapply if I haven't heard anything in the next few weeks. Been really dreadful today literally getting the most awful tasks - sound quality and dictation is beyond belief !!!!!

Chrissols · 20/08/2020 09:14

@Gally123 I have found that too, it’s very strange that all the usual clear tasks have disappeared in the last couple of weeks......they can’t possibly have all left can they

OP posts:
ElleBee56 · 20/08/2020 09:56

@Chrissols when any work has appeared it's mostly been really long audio (between 1 and 2 hours so usually meetings involving several people), just a few lines of typing or so bad that you put more comments in the comments box than in the actual letter! The long ones generally take several hours to type so I don't pick them up as I have other things to do so can't spend that much time typing tasks that are inaudible, several people trying to talk at the same time, mumbling or loud background noises!

Chrissols · 20/08/2020 10:08

@ElleBee56 I haven't seen any of those. I logged on at 7.30 this morning and have not seen one single task, unbelievable!
@danblack87 how are you, very quiet at the moment, hope all's okay

OP posts:
Gally123 · 20/08/2020 10:34

@ElleBee56 - when you mention long audio dictation of 1-2 hours, is this with DICT8? There used to be someone who recorded his meetings/lectures/classes etc so he would not have to take notes. The recordings would start just before the lecture and I am sure his fellow classmates did not know they were being recorded as they would chat about weekend activities. I remember once someone talked about a break in and being burgled. I used to listen (on fast forward) to tasks to make sure there were no letters dictated. The teacher could be heard as a faint murmur in the background and I used to mark these as 'no letters dictated, only background chat' and no-one from DICT8 said that they should be typed and after a couple of weeks it stopped so I assume the person realised they were not going to get someone to type up their class notes in such an underhand manner. I wonder if this is what you are referring to.

ElleBee56 · 20/08/2020 11:08

@Gally123 yes they were with Dict8. The ones I've listened to have been meetings or disciplinary hearings involving several people and being done virtually so the quality of audio is really bad other than for the person conducting the meeting who, I presume, is recording the whole thing. I have typed some which were a bit shorter but I've had to leave so many comments in the box because I just couldn't make out what was being said. What a waste of time having to listen through a whole audio to make sure there was nothing you could type. I've done that and think of all the time wasted listening when I could have actually been typing something and earning money!

Chrissols · 20/08/2020 11:55

The amount of tasks coming up and the speed they are disappearing is worse than when this pandemic began

OP posts:
Meha5 · 21/08/2020 17:09

Bit like waiting for a bus today - waiting for hours then loads of tasks turn up !!!

Gally123 · 21/08/2020 17:48

@Meha5 - lucky you! There was none for almost 2 hours after I first logged on this morning - and I was up early due to wind and rain. Since then a few here and there and the usual gaps.

I am hoping for a good final week of the month to boost my total, otherwise I could have problems re bills.

danblack87 · 22/08/2020 10:56

Hi all:
@chrissols: I am fine thanks, just had to take a few days out; one thing after another .... then, I was looking after my grand-daughter most of the day yesterday; so I didn't log in at all.
I too am hoping for a good week in all ways next week .... blood pressure sky high.
Glad to hear all is well with T'Pro.
