I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

@Chrissols - yes, I cannot believe the increase in tasks in the last few days, although it seems to be easing now, but I do remember before COVID getting worried over the lack of work and whether I would be able to cover my bills at the end of the month, especially in the summer I remember sitting whole afternoons with nothing to do, so I am trying to make the most of it now, but it is not easy with the quality of some of it. I know, never happy, complain when there is no typing and then when there is complain it cannot be heard due to background noises, muffled voices etc.

@Poppy379 - I was short of work long before lock-down for some reason, (for as long as 18 months) as a lot of people was on this thread and thought something was wrong, but just over last couple of weeks there have been tasks coming in, (not all good dictators) but they are there and I've been attempting the bad ones rather than letting them go, as I said there seemed to be one task coming in all the time after typing one, but only small ones equating to a few lines but it is better than nothing. I do feel for you guys who aren't getting anything at the moment and lets hope it picks up for you guys who aren't. On a plus side, for me, the hospital I worked for before lock-down part-time has just asked me to go back, which I am going to do so perhaps the ones I don't type on the days that I am back at work will give some of the transcribers a little bit more work, albeit it will only be a little. I gave up my part time work at the hospital just before this pandemic hit to stay with DICT8 full time.....little did I know, and now it's really worrying that the work seems to be getting less

@Chrissols - I gave up too for the same reasons and to be shielded. I contacted the hospital I worked for about 5 weeks ago in desperation, and they said, sorry but we are really quiet at the moment, but today someone has contacted me to say do you want to come back for a couple of days as the work is picking up so hold on in there. Fingers crossed it will do for you too.

@carosel2 - to be honest I would still rather work solely for DICT8 so am really hoping things pick up

@carosel2 and @Chrissols - I too gave up my NHS post to work solely for Dict8 just as the pandemic hit, so we are all in the same boat. Hopefully it picks up soon.
