Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

Well yesterday was not too bad, but today I have just been staring at a blank screen, so cannot see a 15% increase in work load.

And as to DICT8 clarifying that the hospital secretaries working from home was not taking work from us as they would have been typing in a hospital, I would say working from home they would be able to type more as there would be none of the other usual distractions that you get in a hospital - phone calls, doctors wanting attention, other admin jobs such as making appointments, cancelling clinics, checking results, none of which could be done remotely. So if hospital secretaries are able to type from home they would be more productive and there would be less outstanding work put on the system for us to type.

Really hoping that TPro gets back in contact soon.

Feels like groundhog day again.

Slow, slow, stop

Chrissols · 30/06/2020 11:05

Extremely slow today, it definitely seems worse

carosel2 · 30/06/2020 11:07

@Gally123 - I agree - and who is to say that it has given some of the secs an idea to continue with DICT8 as a transcriber for some extra cash even when they go back to work. I know they stated that they weren't taking on any new transcribers, but wouldn't be surprised if some of the Clients' secs asked and I am sure they would allow them as their hospitals are the ones who are supplying the work.

Meha5 · 30/06/2020 12:55

em the give a shit email. Of course DICT8 giving the NHS their equipment was our loss. A fool could work out that with no clinics running and with minimal typing hospital secretaries could keep up and once the few clinics started appearing it was pretty obvious the secretaries working from home were not entertaining the god awful dictation of some of the doctors and that is what we have been mopping up.

Gally123 · 30/06/2020 13:22

It also revealed the lie that they do not screen tasks to give to certain typists, as a hospital secretary would only want to type for her own doctors, and not for anybody - hence they do have the software that is able to screen/select tasks.

danblack87 · 30/06/2020 14:15

It's a perfectly awful day today. I have typed only 4 tasks since 9 o'clock this morning. Sad and Angry

Chrissols · 30/06/2020 14:21

I have typed three, it's weird that all specialities go quiet together

danblack87 · 30/06/2020 15:37

@Chrissols: It is positively dumbfounding Confused ... I have seen nothing now for well over two hours? I keep thinking that there is perhaps a problem at the other end, i.e. the work is not able to get through; then again, I think I am just still trying to be positive Hmm.

Meha5 · 30/06/2020 17:57

I've had 2 all day, maybe weather related as there seems to be more on when it's hot !!

deewu · 30/06/2020 18:42

I didn't start typing until 2 p.m. and this afternoon I have had 20 tasks mostly oncology related so I have been very lucky today but other days are hopeless. I wish there was some pattern to it then it would be easier to plan your day.

danblack87 · 01/07/2020 07:37

@deewu: never seems to be a pattern though does there? ... I wish the same - sometimes you give up and then wish you hadn't but if you don't give up nothing comes through!!! C'est la vie.

Chrissols · 02/07/2020 17:46

How's everyone's day been, hopefully the quiet on here means busy...I was out this morning, but had an ok afternoon ish

danblack87 · 03/07/2020 15:34

Hi Chrissols: all slow-going up hill here - managed to get some tasks to do today but the long waits between are awful. I have solidly stuck at it today but I am getting tired of looking at a blank screen!!

Gally123 · 03/07/2020 15:49

Today has not been so good, Wednesday/Thursday were better and I thought that perhaps things were improving at last. But obviously not.

danblack87 · 03/07/2020 16:34

S'pose things could be worse --- we could all live in Leicester in the new regional lock-down regime which I believe is not going down too well. Sad.

danblack87 · 03/07/2020 16:36

? re. my last comment: I wonder if that will have any impact or not on the workload from Dict8 - I don't know if the hospital(s) there send work via Dict8??

Chrissols · 04/07/2020 09:42

Don't suppose anyone's cheques have been processed yet?

danblack87 · 04/07/2020 10:17

Haven't posted my cheque yet. Will go out this afternoon.

Gally123 · 04/07/2020 10:26

@danblack87 - I don't remember ever typing any letters with someone saying they were dictating from Leicester - the common ones at the moment outside London seem to be Blackpool, Preston, Coventry, & Trafford at the moment, possibly a few from Swindon. Kent & Canterbury, and seem to have gone mostly voice activated and Aintree, Isle of Man & Southampton seem to have left the system. When I first started there was North Yorkshire as well and at one time there were the Northern Ireland doctors and Gloucester/Bristol. Cannot think who else.
@Chrissols - I was late sending my invoice off due to printing problems.

danblack87 · 04/07/2020 11:29

I believe Leicester used to send to Dict8 a long time ago - not heard the hospital names mentioned though for years. There are several dictators that used to be regulars from lots of other places, Liverpool and Isle of Wight I have not heard for years. Mainly London and the areas as mentioned by Gally are prominent. I guess obviously medical staff do move on to other places on their rotations.

smiffypeabrain · 06/07/2020 13:33

Has anyone had their cheque issued yet? thanks

Chrissols · 06/07/2020 13:48

@smiffypeabrain no my cheque has not been processed and I sent it so it arrived last Wednesday 😥

smiffypeabrain · 06/07/2020 13:54

Same. Oh that's a shame. DDs all coming out on Wed. was hoping to put it in today to clear by then as my overdraft fees are huge.

danblack87 · 06/07/2020 14:40

Not received cheque yet but my invoice was posted out late on Saturday so Dict8 won't have received it yet.
