Pay with Dict8

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

I have had a few today but is has slowed up again now. I have set my expectations at a much lower bar now though!

Juju1507: I too have set my bar at a lot lower level (I find myself planning jobs around the house whilst I am trying to sleep!) One thing with the virus is that you are able to get things done you have put off for a long time. Sad, I know, but to some degree it stops you from getting frustrated; however, earning money to pay the bills would be a much better challenge.

Hi everyone

I'm checking on the odd occasion and there's absolutely nothing for me. I have five specialities.
Yesterday I saw one task and couldn't be bothered to switch my laptop on for it to be honest I'm part time at the local hospital and when I started there I had planned to continue with Dict8 to top up my salary, which hasn't really happened! I've not known anything like it since the early days, my children were tiny and I used to cram all my typing into nap time. I remember if I didn't get on quick it would all be gone. This is even worse! For the last few years I've got quite a lot of tasks done in the evening and there was so much often I would get up on Saturday morning and be able to spend a good half a day typing. I would guess there are currently just too many typists all wanting the same work.

I had a bit more work yesterday than usual but today nothing so far. On a positive note my cheque has been processed on the downside I have no idea when I will receive it given last month's delay Hmm

It's been a bit like pulling teeth today, I don't know how some folk manage to get them so quickly, they are there for a split second..

Gally123 · 05/05/2020 17:38

@Chrissols - I know it is like DICT8 is teasing us with possible work and then snatching it away, a power trip because they know we need to earn the money. Our livelihood in their hands.

Meha5 · 05/05/2020 18:48

I bet the NHS will take full advantage of the digital freebie given to them by DICT8, it might take them years to get it back :))). My fingers are tightly crossed here hoping that the request has gone in for it to be returned asap

Hi everyone. I was just thinking back to some good old tasks that used to come through. I remember when a task would come along that was a whole clinic (letter after letter on one task), sometimes 12-16 letters. With a good dictator these were the best - oh, the memories so long ago!!!

Chrissols · 06/05/2020 14:20

Today has been a much better day, hopefully it will last and not just for today........

danblack87 · 06/05/2020 15:56

@Chrissols: I have had a much better day today too - let's see what happens going forwards Smile

danblack87 · 07/05/2020 09:33

My invoice has been processed so waiting for the cheque which should be here, next Tues/Weds, if there are no postal delays.

Chrissols · 07/05/2020 09:46

I received my cheque yesterday by first class, was pleasantly surprised as it was very quick. No tasks yet today though after such a good day yesterday 🙄

Gally123 · 07/05/2020 10:36

Just attended the HMRC webinar on claiming the grant for self-employed people, some interesting bits including how they work out how much people could claim and how to check if you can claim. I would suggest everyone tries to book a place if they can - it lasts 45 mins and it is not as if you would miss a lot of typing!

danblack87 · 07/05/2020 11:28

I have had some tasks this morning so far … just taking it step by step now and see how the day goes. Will certainly be looking at Webinar at some point today Gally123.

Chrissols · 07/05/2020 13:06

I've had nothing, not even seen any flash up 😥

danblack87 · 07/05/2020 13:38

I have seen several flash-up's since last post but not quick enough Sad!

danblack87 · 08/05/2020 13:31

Have any of you guy's seen any tasks today … I have seen any?!

Chrissols · 08/05/2020 13:55

@danblack87 probably won't be any at all today as it's a bank holiday

Meha5 · 08/05/2020 18:18

None for me, but as mentioned it's a bank holiday

I wonder if anyone can help. Just before the dreaded COVID, I signed up with Accuro - not impressed with the pay rate but thought what the h**l, more eggs in the basket. I am struggling to find a transcriber forum for Accuro. If someone could send me a link if they know of one that would be fantastic.

Chrissols · 11/05/2020 17:20

The pay rate is terrible for Accuro @homeworkmum

homeworkmum · 11/05/2020 17:23

Hi Chrissols - I have to admit, I did ask if they made a typo lol. Somehow I dont think they thought I was funny Smile

danblack87 · 12/05/2020 09:07

Hi, my cheque arrived early this morning today, which was as expected, yeh ...

Chrissols · 12/05/2020 09:30

I got my cheque last week but my bank is closed and they don't do online banking! Have had to post it to them which is not ideal by any means..

danblack87 · 12/05/2020 09:33

chrissols: I take mine to the post office and they send it to my bank
