Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

What's annoying me is that I got my invoice in the post on Tuesday first class so I know they got it yesterday, and they still haven't updated the figures so they haven't processed my cheque yet. So now it's going to be next week before I can even pay it in. I deliberately sent it then so I would get it on Friday.

Lucylizzy123 · 02/04/2020 13:10

I am Victoria - I posted mine on the 30th March 1st class so they would have received it on the 31st, and it is now the 2nd April and they have not processed it. No doubt they are sitting on things right now. Unfortunately they have all the power and we can do very little in this situation.

Gally123 · 02/04/2020 13:18

I did not think we send invoices in before the 1st of the month.

smiffypeabrain · 02/04/2020 13:42

I, too, posted last post on the 31st as I hoped to receive my cheque tomorrow

MiHa5 · 02/04/2020 15:33

One piece of advice I was given is Universal Credit. You have a login account and if you do part-time work you can inform them online and they adjust payments accordingly. The trouble at the moment, according to friends, it takes days to get it set-up and perhaps months to get anything! I was also told you can have savings and still apply.

juju1507 · 02/04/2020 15:57

I am also concerned about postal deliveries. We were expecting a tracked parcel yesterday but we had a message stating it was being held at the local sorting office. It turns out that it is heavily understaffed due to the current crisis and getting post will be hit and miss for a while! That is why Dict8 should be paying by BACS!! I'm sure their PAYE staff are paid on time every month and don't have to wait for cheques to arrive and then wait again for them to clear Angry

I've just emailed asking whether there will be a delay in our cheques being sent. Will update with response.

Chrissols · 02/04/2020 16:33

We haven't had a postman/woman for days

carosel2 · 02/04/2020 23:43

I still find it difficult to believe that there are hardly any telephone consultations going ahead with the amount of Trusts they are supposed to have as clients. I logged on to find 37 tasks but could not access any of them as my computer said ' not authorised to access these'. Plus, they were exceptionally brilliant dictators, so clear etc. As I said in an earlier email, why tout for business to become a transcriber for the company when there is clearly no work for the 'already transcribers' on their books looking for work!

carosel2 · 02/04/2020 23:48

....... I type for cardiology and respiratory by the way!

IamVictoria · 03/04/2020 00:26

@carosel2 how odd, I wonder why tasks would come up on your list that you couldn't access? Were they the right specialities? Have you emailed Dict8 alerting them?

Chrissols · 03/04/2020 09:04

I haven't ween 37 tasks available on my speciality (paediatrics) for weeks, I am lucky if there is one and then it's gone in seconds

carosel2 · 03/04/2020 10:40

No - I didn't alert them, it was nearing teatime. I just thought perhaps transcribers had stopped to make tea for their families why there was so many on. I assume they were all cardiology as it was the same doctor on all five. I could listen initially to the dictation, but when I selected the task, it just would not let me type in the box or play the dictation. I went in to all five that was showing. In the end I re-booted my computer to find only 2 left on when I had logged back in. I quickly grabbed one but hey presto! it wasn't the clear speaking doc but a distorted Chinese fellow with a muffled "flied lice" if you get me. I have to say I clocked up more lines in the Alt-N box than was actually dictated! so apologies if you get that one to check... no doubt I will get feedback telling me in future if I cannot understand it to send it back so others can transcribe it that can, but would argue not even the best could have understood that one.

MiHa5 · 03/04/2020 11:00

I have a feeling that some of the doctors are self-isolating, and as the letters are so short at the moment they are probably typing them as well - curtesy of DICT8 lending their equipment !

IamVictoria · 03/04/2020 11:06

@carosel2 That would be hilarious if it wasn't for the lack of work. I kind of hope I do get it to check now!

@MiHa5 you could well be right.

Still no response to my email asking why our cheques haven't been processed yet.

carosel2 · 03/04/2020 11:28

@IamVictoria hahaha, please let me know if you do! A bit of light humour works wonders

Lucylizzy123 · 03/04/2020 11:44

My cheque has been processed guys

juju1507 · 03/04/2020 11:54

My cheque hasn't been processed yet. It will be my luck that my invoice goes missing this month!

OP posts:
Lucylizzy123 · 03/04/2020 12:07

Mine may have been processed but not sure when I will get it, second class post, less postal deliveries etc makes it all a little uncertain. Just a little more to worry about.

Chrissols · 03/04/2020 12:12

I don't think we are getting postal deliveries round are way, haven't seen a postman/woman since last Monday

juju1507 · 03/04/2020 12:16

@Chrissols I agree about postal deliveries, we have had two deliveries since last Saturday, nothing today. @Lucylizzy123 I suppose I just like seeing that it has been done at least. It's even more pertinent now due to any of us hardly earning a bean in the last couple of weeks.

MiHa5 · 03/04/2020 12:36

I wish there was a way they could put an alert (like when you get a message on your mobile) when tasks come on your login page, it would save me spending my life gazing at my computer screen clicking refresh every second of the day

smiffypeabrain · 03/04/2020 12:57

Mine hasn't been processed yet either.

IamVictoria · 03/04/2020 14:04

Nor mine, but I'm glad at least some people's are getting done, it implies the rest of them will be imminently!

Gally123 · 03/04/2020 14:33

The thing about sitting here with no work is that I am tempted to eat all my biscuits.
