TLDR version: Sandie Peggie vs Royal College of Nursing is currently being heard. The hearing started on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and is scheduled to end on Thursday 1 October 2026.

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims were of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claimed to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and after a prolonged process judgment was handed down on 8 December 2025. That judgment is being appealed and an appeal hearing is expected to take place in 2027.

Additional legal claims have been raised. Sandie Peggie is taking action against the Royal College of Nursing, against three senior managers who were witnesses in the employment tribunal - Dr Kate Searle, Dr Maggie Currer and Esther Davidson, against Carol Potter, the chief executive of NHS Fife, for victimisation, against NHS Fife for discrimination, and against its director of people and culture David Miller for harassment. In addition, Sandie Peggie is being investigated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council over fitness to practice.

Yes, he put words in SP mouth, much like he claims she was taking about IB, even though SP never said that to him, she only said 'it's like putting men in women's prsions, I do hope the Judge noticed both of those things.

I’m not sure that’s quite fair. The earlier tribunal treated the “women’s prison incident” as a reference to the Isla Bryson case, and that appears to have been an agreed fact in the pleadings.

What was disputed was whether referring to that situation amounted to comparing Upton personally to a rapist.

That'll just hold the trial up, while he recovers 😂 My DH has caught my head cold, and has been unable to move off the settee for 3 days!
I note NC has had no problem carrying on.

I have to ask...

How many days did you spend on the sofa?

Well it's not a self-adopted community label (like gender critical feminism).. It's a label that's imposed externally and I've noticed that it's mostly used on these forums as a slur to identify the type of person they ridicule and despise.

Presumably what you're unaware of, is the type of (predominantly men) who descend on here to lecture women for wrong think and police how we speak?
Sometimes they're new posters and sometimes they've spent a wee while building up a profile.

Their modus operandi is to dominate a thread posting continuously (always worth doing a rough count of how many times they post in a short space of time). They usually challenge other posters about choice of language and any views they disagree with.
They frequently self identify as mothers of numerous children yet surprisingly show no concern for children's wellbeing and never post on education / child safeguarding threads. The may or may not bake cakes, knit bobble hats and be WI members.

They usually out themselves as extreme transactivists within a matter of days (sometimes hours) .

There's no doubt other signs I've missed but if it looks like a duck and all that 🙄

I don't agree with this at all.
Also there are many many different types/ shades of feminism.

Non of which should put men who think they are women ahead of actual women. Alas some types of feminism do indeed put the men first.

Your disagreement is irrelevant just like any other 'type' of feminism are irrelevant because there is only on type of Feminism.

Feminism belief in or advocacy of women's social, political, and economic rights, especially with regard to equality of the sexes.

It's not inclusive, it's exclusive to the female, it says it right there in the name FEMinism.

Any other ism that includes anything or everything else is not feminism, just like a man can not be a women feminism cannot relate to anything but the female. Pick another name for what ever your cause is Feminism is taken.

And I have to say that while there's been a lack of posting continuously this afternoon, this thread has moved along swimmingly thanks so much to the copy-pasters. I'm sure anyone catching up because they have been working, cleaning the floor or doing school runs will find it nice and easy to catch up as a result.

@Lacksie bit of common sense advice. Go finish your work presentation you mentioned. Sit down with your family/kids and have dinner.

We get it. You are passionately trying to defend yourself-totally understand.

Catch up if you can on today’s proceedings and try to appreciate some of us actual woman are just tired of all the trans nonsense. We still value your views. We just struggle to see how they work in reality.

It sounds like NC is really beating him around the ring (a boxing metaphor)

I'm still catching up with the thread but I wish there was a Finbar Saunders emoji.

Thank you, @Boiledbeetle . You have delighted us long enough.

Don't you have some [wimmin's] work to do, like summarising this afternoon's proceedings for people who are busy? Make very sure of all your vocab though, when you present your findings.

I have to ask...

How many days did you spend on the sofa?

Well, none Although I did cancel a couple of things to try not to pass my germs on.
And obviously, I only had a women's minor ailment which doesn't compare to manflu.

Btw, thank you everyone for these threads. I think you are brilliant at bringing these trials to life on here x

So is that a no to seeing the photos then?

As for this afternoon, as there is wimmin's work I should be doing:

Man told everyone in court that his employer and him didn't give a shit about women.

I think that about sums it up

DrSpartacularsMagnificentOctopus · 28/09/2026 18:25

Thanks again to the copy-pasters, it really does make it all so much easier to follow, and thanks to nearly all you excellent contributors with your explanatory and thought-provoking commentary.

I'm only dipping in and out so am always out of sync and forever catching up, you're nearly all much appreciated Gin

Fandangoes · 28/09/2026 18:27

I fully support women’s right to female only spaces and want to back SP but I find it really difficult when I read some of the accusations being made against her where she supposedly made outrageously racist comments. Are these true or is it the other side just trying to discredit her? Apologies if this has already been covered, I can’t keep up with all these threads and the bun fight that appears to be going on!

heathspeedwell · 28/09/2026 18:27

Getting back to an earlier comment, Henderson did admit in court that some of his boxer shorts had holes in them. He said it in an airy way as if exposing your penis and testicles to female colleagues is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

@Lacksie we have been cordial with you. School run/kids/work presentation

yet you are still posting on another thread and are outraged at being called a TRA

Yes Ive posted on more than one thread. I've also posted on a thread about mobile phones. , Asylum seekers and step parenting. That ok with you ? No I don't appreciate being called a TRA- Im well aware it's a slur.

I'm going to take what I assume was well meaning advice and stop trying to defend myself as it's futile. And also derailing the discussion of the legal case. Take care.

One day they'll discover the mechanism that changes a woman's cold into man flu.

I'm sure of it!

I mean there has to be an actual reason behind what happens surely?

IIRC it came out in the trial that she forwarded a load of really racist jokes to a group of colleagues.

First ask yourself if entitlement to single sex spaces is contingent on being a perfect human being, and go from there.
