Yes this.

As devastating as it may be for Sall today - she’s exposed the absurdity of the law and the Judicary have no other option.

Force legislations to accept reality and accept their mistakes.

It is waking a nation - so well done Sal.

In the meantime start up an app for people who were female for first five years of life, or a group for people who have unteruses, or CY chromosomes or some other century that excludes men until such time as the law catches up.

Would that be legal to set up such an app? I'm not trying to be difficult, just thinking aloud.

Seriestwo · 11/09/2026 08:09

He knos that we all know he’s a man and was always a man and will die a man.

this has ruined Sal financially? She fundraiser the case but had debt from setting the app up that she can’t run? And is a single mother. I hope she is doing ok

beeakoala · 11/09/2026 08:12

I stand with Sal 💜💚

'Roxy Tickle' - sounds like a drag queen name.

I stand with Sal Grover!

So where else would this apply? Changing rooms, prison cells?

Yes, and all sports, awards, school activities, girl scouts, gyms, hospitals, rape crises centres, hostels, half-way houses, women only yoga classes and pole dancing classes (recent case on Gold Coast), toilets at work, breastfeeding groups, single-sex schools, anywhere basically where women might just want to be in the company of other women only. It is completely fu**ed, I hate my country today for not caring enough about what this means.

😞so sad.

What’s the majority feeling like? Does anyone support this win?

I’m hoping for backlash and a change of laws pressured by votes but maybe some are for what’s happening.

ArabellaScott · 11/09/2026 11:09

Part of the problem is also restrictive reporting. The Online Safety Act etc

The situation is increasingly reminding me of the beginning of The Handmaid's Tale, where we're 'Canada', looking over with horror at what's happening to our neighbours, and wondering if it's going to spread.

Ironic that real-life Canada is nearly as bad.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 11/09/2026 11:38

I would have thought this kind of nonsense is a dream come true for populist politicians

everyone knows that men aren’t women and most people aren’t happy to be asked to pretend when it starts to impact them

FeralWoman · 11/09/2026 12:29

I think a lot of people, especially women, are still at the “be kind” stage and feeling sorry for a fictional small weak trans identified man being picked on/assaulted by big strong men. They don’t understand that this court decision applies to everything that has anything to do with dividing up based on sex.

Whether it’s the public toilets at the shops, the local women’s footy team, the changing rooms at Kmart and Target, awards for women and girls, the toilets at their children’s school, and more. All of it can have men and boys in women and girls’ spaces and categories.

I have a pelvic ultrasound booked for next week. It will involve an internal ultrasound wand inserted into my vagina. The receptionist mentioned the name of the person I’m booked in with and that “she’s really lovely”. Part of me wanted to ask if she’s an actual woman or just identifies as one. Can’t do that. That would legally be discrimination even though I should get a choice about who is going to be poking around in my vagina.

Not a chance that the current federal government will correct the SDA and all other options for future federal governments are shit. The LNP are arseholes and terrible for the ordinary citizen, and Pauline and her One Nation party are dangerous incompetent fuckwits.

This is something I'd like to know

I find it hard to believe that there is any sort of consensus or majority of public opinion in Australia that would support the idea that the law (and everybody else) has to recognise you as being of the sex you say you are.

You don't even have to think about it for more than a few seconds to realise it'll lead to a massive car crash of a fuck up.

Grammarnut · 11/09/2026 13:50

The Australian judiciary and its government must be terminally ignorant of biology and a pack of misogynists to boot. Everywhere else this ideology is coming under scrutiny and sex is gradually taking its rightful place in legal decision. Why is Australia so lacking in sense?

PeachOctopus · 11/09/2026 14:08

This judgement will come back to haunt them we have seen this movie before.
There’s no way the Australian government can not be harmed by this kind of idiocy.

Many Australians already know this is all bollocks:

43% are against transgender people being allowed to use single-sex facilities that correspond to the gender they identify with; 43% are in favour (down from 53% in 2023).

53% are against transgender athletes competing based on the gender they identify with rather than the sex they were assigned at birth; 21% are in favour (down from 27% in 2021).

In fact, across all the countries surveyed one can see a drop in support for these sorts of policies over the last 5 or so years. The consequences of treating sex and gender as the same thing gradually seep out, despite the best efforts of politicians who lack integrity and a craven press. Unlike all the (rightly) successful progressive movements of recent times, the more the public sees of this one, the less it likes.

Australia has essentially denied that females are a discrete category without males.

No administrative process (because fundementally that's what the law and court system is) can deny millions of years of human biology which everyone has understood since before time began and the exisitence of which is necessary for life.

And yet here we are in 1984. Australian woman forced to say a large manly man is a woman just like them.

Australia is lost to its deep rooted misogyny and I am so very grateful to live on Terf Island today.

Walkden · 11/09/2026 18:05

"And yet here we are in 1984. Australian woman forced to say a large manly man is a woman just like them."

Well this law was voted for the Australian parliament ( both men and women) and no party would win without women voting for them for it's not like if they are being to say this, other women are partly responsible...

More than partly responsible. The Australian parliament is 50% women and the person who introduced this law was a woman (Julia Gillard).

mrshoho · 11/09/2026 20:33

To get out of this mess requires political change. The leading Labour party with the Greens threw out the opposition coalition's calls to define biological sex and protect single sex spaces. Australia will bide it's time and women and children continue to be discriminated. I guess as time goes on more sunlight on the absurdity of these lies as well as more and more of the population being impacted will bring the change. To think I was once envious of the Australian dream. Think I'll stick with the UK 🇬🇧

Just looked her up, what a mistake that legislation is.

It’ll take voting to get out of it.

PeachyDaisy · 11/09/2026 20:48

As an Australian, I unfortunately think it will take a long time to fix. Voters do not prioritise this issue highly, in fact, it's hardly much of an election issue at all.

Where did I say women weren't partly responsible?

We have strong feminist women on this very board still voting Labour because of wider policies; ignoring their assertions that a male can indeed be born in the wrong body/babies are born without a gender/ women can have a penis. Don't mistake votes for true belief in this bullshit.

I doubt half the politicians really believe either, most of them want to keep their jobs and are possibly secretly stunned that it's gone this far - case in point, the giggling fool Alexandria OC claiming 'woke 1.0 was crazy' now the wind has changed.

FairAmberEagle · 11/09/2026 21:00

The fact so many people are aggressive about this topic just shows how far out of touch you are with your own children and the new way of education.

FairAmberEagle · 11/09/2026 21:01

In fact most of you could do with going back to school and learning all over again and getting up to date with modern times.

It's 2026.
