Graham Linehan on Jon Ronson's new book

My ex-friend Jon Ronson may be a case study in the corrupting toxicity of trans ideology. An interesting read.

His book chapter about me stands as an indictment of him and the cowardly social class of people who refuse to confront uncomfortable truths

Do a more thorough search and actually look at the data.

Most chest-reduction surgery in the US (inc. minors) is done on cisgender men (and cis boys). It's classed as gender-affirming surgery.

I think the burden of evidence is on you here.

This article is specifically about surgery in trans context..its stands alone and is concerning, particularlywhen we now know WPATH SOC are based opinion, and not evidence.

If there are twice as many of the same procedure done for other reasons to a different cohort. it doesn't undermine the evidence provided here.

Does anyone know what sort of causes for women’s rights Graham fights for outside the trans debate?

What sort of causes do TRAs fight for outside transrights?

napody · 30/08/2026 07:47

Ronson's 'so you've been publicly shamed' was a prescient clear book about cancel culture in 2015 (before the term came into currency): a few years into this TRA business. How can he not see Graham as probably the person in the world who has been most damaged by that exact phenomenon?

Yes he's a broken man. BECAUSE he's been publicly shamed and isolated to an unbelievable degree, and that clearly does awful things to people.

I mean, that’s not going to help me win my argument. I’m asking about Graham as he is being compared to those men outside hotels who are ‘fighting for women and girls’ but are basically jist racist. Edited to
say this was for the poster who replied to me

Being compared to these men outside hotels by who?
It's not my job to make you win your argument whatever that may be.

He campaigned hard on changing the Irish abortion laws.

Blockers are only ever suitable for a minority of trans kids, but they give time for the child to mature and review their decision to transition

This concept of PBs as a ‘time to review their decision’ has comprehensively been blown out of the water. It almost exclusively a first step toward further medicalisation.

Please stop using the twee euphemism 'top surgery'. You're talking about an elective double mastectomy, removing healthy body parts for psychological reasons, in cases where it's abundantly clear that the women and girls concerned have not had adequate, or any, therapy to explore their body dysmorphia and other mental health problems first.

How do you know if a child is in the 'minority of trans childrens' puberty blockers are suited for? And when is giving puberty blockers, that are not safe, have dangerous side effects and are given 4-6 times longer than for the max time for precocious puberty, the wrong solution, how can you ever know?

PB are nasty, they stop children learning to accept their bodies and they make gender dysphoria worse as the children are stunted in their growth whilst their peers of both sexes mature. They should be banned everywhere except when there is a physical medical reason to give them. Puberty is not an illness.

Why do I suspect that for Beach that will be handwaved away as non evidence

there have been many many cowards in this whole sorry affair but Ronson who wrote a whole book about cancel culture sooner exactly what Glinner was subjected too and was friends with Graham to boot, is one if the worst. That he had the brass neck to then ride on the destruction of glinners whole life though I note not actually disagreeing with him to sell his book - despicable doesn't even begin to describe it

I second the request, if they can't even bring themselves to call it what it is then maybe they shouldn't be advocating for such a thing to happen, and as pointed out by another poster, there seems to be a chronic need for the nutters to use the proper terms for things, that way they won't end up so ignorant.

Worth noting on this point that the activist Freddy McConnell commented after she gave birth to one of her children that nobody had explained to her that getting a double mastectomy would mean she would be unable to breastfeed her children if she went on to have any.

WTAF, how did she not know this, how ignorant can people be about the obvious things in life.

NotBadConsidering · 30/08/2026 08:15

Why aren’t trans activists proud and pleased that so many thousands of kids have been put on hormone treatments and had surgeries? Isn’t that that they want? For all the kids to “get the gender affirming care they need”? Why be embarrassed, ashamed, or deny these treatments if they’re such good treatments?

Lol- to pose a convincing causal link, the timeline really has to support it, doesn't it? I agree his behaviour in RECENT years has been antisocial and at times verbally aggressive. And he threw a phone that was in his face that time. What came first, though? Perhaps do yourself a little timeline. No need to tell us- you work away. We know it.

Also, the 'he's worryingly interested in children's bodies' trope you're using on this thread isn't a new gambit either. Gender critical people are used to being told they are obsessed with genitals and want to inspect them or whatever. It's classic 'nothing to see here' and it doesn't work anymore.

borntobequiet · 30/08/2026 08:19

GL is a good man, a champion of women and a sublimely gifted writer. None of his issues and difficulties detract from this.

Ronson is self-evidently a nitwit.

I saw a screenshot at the time so it seems to be true she said it, but it's very hard to understand how she could be so ignorant of how her own body works that she didn't realise for herself. However, her thought processes are a mystery to me given that as mentioned many times she started testosterone, got a Gender Recognition Certificate so she could have her birth certificate amended to show M instead of F and within days (as documented in the film she was making about herself) went to a fertility clinic and became pregnant. Then after giving birth to her child she started a lengthy legal battle, which I'm pleased to say she lost, to have herself registered on his birth certificate as his father. Messed up, to say the least.

I have not seen those allegations “proved many times over.” I haven’t seen it proven even once. So if you are going to make such serious accusations, you should provide this alleged “proof.”

Ronson has argued in his book that the friendship became strained because Linehan was consumed with anger over the transgender debate, and lost all “polite, mannered civility” as he campaigned against gender ideology online.

What an indictment. Even using the concept of 'loss of manners' is so telling.

It's the bloody Bananarama argument again. It's not what he said, it's the way he said it.

From those two articles Ronson was blaming Linehan for his own reaction and allowing only that to negate his argument! Never mind the rapist attacking incarcerated women, or the psychopath killing Mitchfest lesbians. He's wringing his bloody hands over Graham's rage.

No one will fail to understand how numerous people do not want to put their head above the parapet for fear of their career, friends, status.

But this is different. This is blaming somebody else for doing exactly that. And getting all fucking prissy about it because it was messy for Linehan.

edited ad, I'm wondering why I'm finding it so infuriating.

I think because there's a massive element of Jesus wept man, you lost everything for the sake of women's rights, what the fuck is wrong with you??

it's barely concealed. In fact, I'm pretty certainly he doesn't even notice how that runs through it like a stick of rock.

Do you actually believe this or have you permitted such unspeakable harms to your own child that this is the only way to rationalise your behaviour against the wrongs that have been done?

Datun · 30/08/2026 08:39

it's just jibber jabber, isn't it.

What does come across is the uncontrollable rage with Linehan. It turns transactivists incoherent.

He's this, he's that, the other, and another thing blah blah. It's a massive laundry list of slung mud, sticking to nothing except their own hands.
