Polycule falls apart

I expect people remember that Heather Herbert (charged in relation to social media comments he made after Ann Widdecombe's death) is in a polycule with Sophie Molly (aka Sparkles, aka Euan Weddell) and someone called Poppybear.

Molly, I believe, is a witness for Jolyon Maugham in Sarah Phillimore's libel case against Maugham.

Poppybear has been posting some very indiscreet posts on BlueSky about both Molly and Herbert, and it looks, tragically, as if the polycule has fallen apart.

According to Poppybear, Herbert's comments about Widdecombe "painted a bullseye on all of us", and led to the police coming in and "invading" all their devices (whatever that means).

Also according to Poppybear, living with Sophie Molly is "like being permanently slapped around the face by pathological laziness unless it's something that grooms her ego."

Poopy said it "hammered" his mental health. FFS.

I'm glad that, at last, some actions have had consequences.

I've also seen mentioned that Herbert is, for now at least, unemployed. But whether that's true or it's possibly being put out there to garner sympathy and more money.

I'm pretty sure he's just suspended, which will be on full pay.

And now because of what was written,(which was utterly foul and inhumane) one has been arrested and charged (rightly) while the others fall out with each other and the group falls apart?

They don't need a polycule,they need either locking up in a mental health hospital or at the very least,a lot of mental health help

Had a bit of a browse through poppybear's Bluesky's posts earlier. I don't have a Bluesky account so maybe I wasn't seeing everything but as far as I could make out he has left Aberdeen and is heading south. He also sounded extremely unwell.

the problem I have is actual grown ups have listened to these men and men like them as if they were in any way credible. You’ve got to wonder how the hell that can have happened

I certainly think it's more than sad that these men have been allowed to call down violent action on women and make threats including posting pictures of firearms; boast about using female single-sex facilities regardless of the needs and wishes of the women; and are engaged in action to threaten the livelihood of a woman who has dared to name them for what they are.

It is more than sad that they have been allowed to continue to have a deleterious effect on women.

You could carve my paean to how sad it is on a grain of rice and still have half a grain left untouched.

It is sad. However, SM and HH have, I think, both tried to get themselves nominated for election as local councillors and MSPs. Can't remember how far either got in the process, but fortunately neither has been elected, because their public pronouncements make it abundantly clear that neither of them has the judgement, empathy and common sense the rest of us would like to see in our elected representatives. As others have said, how did we got to a position where either of them was taken seriously enough to get any nominations?

Sophie Molly got selected by the Scottish Greens for a Westminster constituency. Was deselected on the basis of online comments including - unsurprisingly - about JKR.

The fact that he was accepted as a candidate for a mainstream political party in the first place should worry us all.

This, the Ann Widdecome comments arrest, AI pictures of Molly with guns and the very public (let's pretend it's not) GLP case mean there is a good claim on there being a public interest into living arrangements and what others in their household are saying.

Unfortunately the individuals here have sought attention by their actions and then have tantrums when their actions bring scrutiny and god forbid any level of criticism.

The levels of drama here say a lot.

All so deeply, deeply unsavoury. Ugh.
