I've had a search and I can't find one. She's the chair of Police SEEN, and is up for gross misconduct, for making the following comments in the police station where she was based:

1. all men should be on a curfew
2. see, that wouldn’t have happened if men were on a curfew (in response to a reported rape)
3. all men are rapists
4. I hate men
5. trans women are all cocks in frocks.

You're totally missing the point. It's just an answer to all the men saying that women should stay at home, not be out alone late at night, take myraid precautions after dark etc. or it's their own fault if they are assaulted.

Its reversing the victim blaming.

I think her logic is wrong if she thinks a curfew stops rape. You could say a curfew stops night time stranger rape or night time street rape but it doesn't stop rape. That's just a fact.

So saying something that is clearly wrong is going to convince people that something else that is clearly wrong is wrong. Brilliant. Why not point out that their argument is wrong because women who stay at home can still get raped.

@TheignT I agree, not all rapes are committed by strangers out on the street. We know that we are more at risk from our partners, exes, relatives and colleagues. The "men should have a curfew" suggestion is about addressing the former, not the latter. It's a challenge to the idea that women would be perfectly safe from men raping them, if only they didn't go out at night.

True, we could of course, just castrate all males at birth. Except for one or two to propagate the species.

This thread is about the sacking of a female police officer. Not whether pp think the thought experiment first pithily quipped by Golda Meir and proposed in a tongue in cheek way by hundreds of other feminists is logically sound in every single possible way.

Despite the source it's worth a reading as a reminder of the usual lots of words, including from the Police, about women keeping themselves safe. Something that women take on board because we know expecting anything from men, about men will never be forthcoming. In fact it'll get you sacked.

I don't recall attributing that particular argument to the police -although I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear them say it as well as myriad men in general all over SM and IRL. It's a pretty common trope.

A curfew on men was the theme of a play by an English lesbian theatre company in.. I think it was the mid 1980s?

It's quite a widely used phrase, but only an eejit would take it as a serious, workable proposal.

A humane alternative to castration would be to have a ceremony shortly after birth where all baby boys are bound over to keep the peace.

Less drastic, and less likely to be taken as a serious suggestion by posters here or Elsewhere🙄

Thanks for your comment. Next time I’m having a casual, private conversation with a colleague at work about how women’s movements are restricted I’ll be sure to include every possible caveat to insure my comments against the most microscopic possible scrutiny.
