'65.5% of trans respondents identify as non-binary or gender diverse, marking this as the fastest-growing segment of the trans community (up from 51% in 2019)'

'The EU LGBTIQ Survey III report presents data from 30,627 trans people (trans women, trans men and non-binary and gender diverse people), which represent 30.6% of the total sample (99,972). This is a significant rise from 20,933 trans respondents in the previous LGBTI II Survey in 2019. The increase in trans respondents is especially notable considering that overall, there were almost 40,000 fewer respondents compared to the previous survey. '

I was surprised by this. Interested to see how 'non binary' evolves.

Yes but I bet they see it as some sort of awakening, rather than the grubby and creepy way it comes across to anyone else.

"If I could be desirable, I could be loved."

Wow, talk about having very sad and very heavy psychological issues 😨! That's literally the kind of people who should not be made to transition, because their problem has nothing to do with being trans in the first place! They just latched onto it as a solution to an entirely different problem.

But... I can't help but wonder if it could be real for a handful of them? Could there be a "hardware", heritable element that makes both parent and child feel trans?

Equally, we could say its virus-like and contagious, and thats why lots of school children in the same class have it.

If a parent is on board with supporting their child or husband transition, they are more likely to see non conformity or feelings in themselves as been trans. If they are against it they won't.

The terms are entirely self defined, I mean fine. 'If you know, you know', etc.

The correlating expectations, though, are that everyone else must on pain of severe censure, accept whatever declarations anyone makes about themselves.

So there's a disconnect.

Of course, anyone can call themselves a smargleflop and claim that this is an inner state nobody else can define. The disconnect is in saying that others must 'respect' or respond in certain ways to this declaration, I suppose.

Make up a word, fine. Insist it defines you, fine. Claim that nobody else can comment on it, that only you can define it, refuse to explain it, well, okay. Expect/demand that others interact with you based on your say-so, not fine. Expect that laws, regulations, rules and societal behaviour bends around this undefinable, inexplicable, made-up concept? No.

Not just "respect", but respect it by specifically treating like it can be swapped into the place of physical sex in law and society.

Which is to me far more significant than the unfalsifyablity of inner feelings.

After all, religious conviction is equally unfalsifyable and we can still create laws and protections around it.

It is specifically the overreach of requiring trans identities to be accomodated in specific ways and with specific language that downplays or ignores the risks, challenges, history, lived experiences and needs that pertain to sex that cannot IMO be justified by any of the claims trans people and TRAs make for gender.

The issue to me is not what "gender" supposdly is, but what it is not.

That would make it cross dressing/a lifestyle choice. I doubt he sees it like that either.

Isn’t he the one that equates womanhood with blank eyes & an expectant arse, or some such shit? Sounds like internalised homophobia.

Yes, same guy.
