The reliably foolish Good Law Project have commissioned a new outdoor campaign, coming to a street near you.

Of course I support trans – I’m not a monster - Monster

Trans people should be able to live their lives in peace.

Turn the duvet cover inside-out, and put your arms into it down to the two far corners from the opening.
Take hold of two of the corners of the quilt (ones that are the right distance apart to match the corners of the cover that you are holding) through the cover, so that you are holding both inside-out cover corners and the corners of the quilt.

All very well in theory, but I have a Super King-size duvet cover and more like Little Prince-sized arms. It's a losing battle.

Lalgarh · Today 14:52

Has anyone actually signed up to volunteer as a quilt carrier

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 14:58

I bet it will be all actual women. Gender identitied ones and “cis” identitied ones.

I can’t do it either, I have tried but failed so I just do the scrabbling inside the duvet for the corners still.

I'm afraid I outsource it to a genius. The one true love of my life, the woman who cleans for me. I should be ashamed, but I pay her well for the things she can do with a duvet cover. If it came to a choice between her and DP, I know who I'd choose. And he knows it too.

I apologise for not reading the entire thread, but does anyone have a list of the creatures that featured as monsters in the ad, apart from sharks, gorillas and dinosaurs? (All of which are top animals, in my opinion.)

nicepotoftea · Today 15:05

I'm unclear on whether these posters were actually put up on bill boards or if the pictures of them are just AI - can anyone confirm?

(Am curious about how much money has been spent).

MNLurker1345 · Today 15:06

@Ereshkigalangcleg @murasaki @MagicKittens, I can actually do it!

Show off, show off!

And I have a super king size bed. I do it with the pillow cases too. Life changing.

If they are claiming they have been taken down, it might mean they had previously been put up, but then again, this is the good lord pricks so anything is possible: truth and the GLP have only a passing acquaintance.

No, a coverless duvet is life changing

< up the ante >

How the Jeff does that work?

murasaki · Today 15:15

Aren't they a pain to dry? I view them through a prism of deep suspicion.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · Today 15:17

I think I will stick with the duvet plus cover option, given the number of different covers I seem to have accumulated over the years. I'm not throwing them out now!

So are reddit, who seem to be more than a bit peeved that money donated for law suits seems to have been spent on this nonsense.

Didn't you know that the first punk safety pin was used by a transwoman?
😏
[in case that's obscure to anybody - the trans movement is notorious for appropriating historical events that predate transgenderism by decades, e.g. claiming that a transgender woman threw the first punch? brick? (it varies) at the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York which are taken to be a key moment in the development of the lesbian and gay rights movement]

I'll have you know that the first ever quilt was marker-penned in the Autumn of 1969, and presented as a comfort blanket to the brave first brick thrower at the Stonewall Riots.

Haters claim that the tradition began a little earlier, possibly around 3400 BCE, and that the tradition involved stitching together layers of fabric and wadding, but that is a transphobic view and there shall be #nodebate as to the actual true facts.

I think that’s it.

On the quilt maths not mathsing, would it be too cynical of me to suggest that they have simply chosen a number, which is at odds with reality?

If it helps, I now put quilt covers on in the prescribed fashion, rather than standing inside the cover. I don't know how my wife does it, I've never seen her do one.

It does happen when I work away, but I dont know the method; for all I know, she may make our daughter do it.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · Today 15:43

I've gone back to blankets and an eiderdown, sod quilts there a pain in the neck, arms, back and a bugger to iron.

MagicKittens · Today 15:49

I do it with the pillow cases too

OK, even my Muppet arms are long enough to reach the corners of a pillowcase.

CriticalCondition · Today 15:54

Seersucker duvet covers are the answer to the ironing issue. I haven't ironed one for years. Needs a nice smooth underside though or it feels a bit worthy, touch of the medieval penance and all that.

murasaki · Today 15:56

Or just don't iron, it works for me. Fold when dry, any creases soon work themselves out when it's on.

MoistVonL · Today 16:06

If they've been dried on the line then put straight on the duvet they don't crease.

SidewaysOtter · Today 16:28

Ironing? Who mentioned anything about ironing a duvet cover? Or am I failing to woman properly again?

I have tried the inside out/line up the corners/turn it the right way out again but it still ends up in a wrestling match because it invariably ends up stuck somewhere. Much as I love my super king size duvet, I didn't think the logistics through when I bought it Hmm

Ereshkigalangcleg · Today 16:35

I buy textured covers so I don’t have to iron them, and I don’t iron sheets but they are covered up!
