I assume it's linked to the rabbit sanctuary that got slated by the trans lobby, and suddenly found their donations going through the roof.

Haha I didn't see the brooch thing over here, but the twitter threads were wild. It started with the rabbit charity liking 'unauthorised' tweets, and then being utterly confused, but unwilling to give in to the backlash.😂

I think James Dreyfus had tweeted about them, which put the TRAs' back up. They were funny in their responses and made a lot of money for the bunnies.

Do not let Boiled Beetle get wind of this thread. She'll start knocking out portraits of chimeric apes in spinny skirts and clingy blousey blouses.

I’m sorry, I missed that but why would TRAs hate bunnies?? Are some of the bunnies GC? I can’t actually believe I’m asking that but can see no other reason.

Iirc, a bunny sanctuary put something innocuous on their Facebook page that the TRAs took great exception to and they gave the sanctuary a horrible time of it - to the extent the sanctuary had to stop posting for a while. Word got out however, and they were flooded with support - while the TRAs showed themselves for the violent, mentally unstable lot that they were.

I’m pretty sure they just followed somebody who commented (something innocuous) on one of their posts, which they do to everyone in order to help fundraise. This person was on a TRA shit list and the ensuing pile on was ridiculous. They were like “we just want to help bunnies”, TRA wanted public apology and statement of support. It was bonkers.

I saw OMD live once at a concert at the Northgate Arena, which was a very odd location for a concert as it was the local swimming baths.

It took a few seconds for me to cotton on that you didn't mean Northgate, the secure mental hospital, near Morpeth....
