Do you support “trans” or are you a monster? New Good Law Project billboard campaign.

The reliably foolish Good Law Project have commissioned a new outdoor campaign, coming to a street near you.

Of course I support trans – I’m not a monster - Monster

Trans people should be able to live their lives in peace.

So who are these “trans f*gs” as written on the quilt? Heterosexual women?

Late to the party, I know, but has anyone bagsied Medusa yet? Because I just love the idea of being on any demo/action, and being able to shut the screaming bullies up in perpetuity with the merest glance. And I'd still have (literally!) legendary, stunning hair!

Not sure this person has ever picked up a needle. The slogans are all attached with safety pins.

How very punk. Quite the anachronism.

I'm not all that bothered that transpeople are doing some crafting - as my late mother would say 'Ah sure, if it keeps them off the streets..' accompanied by an eye-roll😏

I'm sure they'll work out some way to carry it, like those enormous flags you see on marches.

I am bothered by any violent and offensive slogans they have embroidered needlepointed written with markers on it.

But most of all I am very bothered by the tasteless evoking of the Aids Quilt Project of the 1980s.

Yes, it's the hijacking of the AIDS quilt symbolism that bothers me the most too. It's just so offensive even my finest swears can't do it justice.

I keep reading Unity Quilt as Utility Quilt. Which sounds much more useful.

Wasn't Unity Quilt the Quilt sister who fangirled Hitler?

@MarieDeGournay here’s some lovely quilt pictures xx

What better way to show their womanlyness than by doing womanly things?

"All young ladies are accomplished. They sing, they draw, they dance, speak French and German, cover screens and I know not what."

Who doesn’t love a bit of P&P?

Didn't you know that the first punk safety pin was used by a transwoman?
😏
[in case that's obscure to anybody - the trans movement is notorious for appropriating historical events that predate transgenderism by decades, e.g. claiming that a transgender woman threw the first punch? brick? (it varies) at the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York which are taken to be a key moment in the development of the lesbian and gay rights movement]

It was 96 metres to start with. Down to 86 metres now. Wonder if they put it through a hot wash?

If it is divided into 12 metre panels with handles on them, as they claim, it CAN'T be 86 metres long; 86 isn't divisible by 12. And nor is 76. So it must be 96 and they are typoing.

Ooh, any other recommendations? DD17 loves a ridiculous shark film and she's in hospital at the moment so could do with some cheering up.

I am told that Shark Exorcist is a must-see: reviews say such things as "What a god damn insult to filmmaking! It's really awful, I don't even recommend seeing this for ironic comedy. It's the definition of terrible!" and "I actually wanted to give this half a star but my review template will only allow a minimum of one star. So, I can only assume the developers have never seen Shark Exorcist." It has a demonic nun in it.

Wanna be a demonic nun dammitall!

Or the sections are not all the same size, because someone didn't think it through very well.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · Today 13:20

But 12 metres is 12 metres! I suppose one of them might identify as ten metres.

One could, if one wanted to, make a comment here about the well known ability of men to expand measurements to suit their own purposes.

I struggle to manoeuvre a duvet to get the cover on it, it’s like fighting with a sail in a high wind. I wouldn’t want to be dragging 86 metres of it round London.

Oh! I was taught an easy way to do that, which I shall share whether you are interested or not.

Turn the duvet cover inside-out, and put your arms into it down to the two far corners from the opening.
Take hold of two of the corners of the quilt (ones that are the right distance apart to match the corners of the cover that you are holding) through the cover, so that you are holding both inside-out cover corners and the corners of the quilt.
Slowly ease the cover over the quilt, turning it right way out as you go and keeping a good grip on the corners.
When the cover is more or less over all the quilt, let go of the corners you were holding, take the two corners by the opening by both the cover and the quilt, and shake it to get it all matching.
Do up the poppers or buttons or zip of the cover.
Done.
Takes me a lot less time than other methods used to.

Since my friend told me this (she got it off a television show about families doing household tasks, I think) I have never ended up head-first inside a duvet cover trying to find two corners inside a welter of cloth. It was a game-changer!

EmpressaurusKitty · Today 13:51

I used to do it like that & it was very quick & easy.

Then I got a cat who wanted to join in.

Every woman I've ever known prefers a closed cubicle. Women dont, on the whole, like being overheard whilst on the loo and especially not if ill.

Strangely, this is a conversation I have literally never had with any woman in the past seventy years.

It seems a bit like asking a teenager in the public lavatory whether she wants your help to insert a tampon: something women on the whole don't do.

Closed cubicles aren't soundproof.

AlwaysExtraHot · Today 14:02

DrBlackbird · Today 09:07

I, for one, feel completely uncomfortable in those claustrophobic inducing closed cubicles.

Not to mention the many times in my life over the years when I’ve been grateful for the friendly woman in the next toilet passing loo roll under the partition when I’ve exclaimed out loud ‘argh, no loo roll’. Does that not happen anymore?

Happened to me just the other day actually! (I was the bestower of loo roll, not the recipient, which I do prefer).

But one is one of the laydeez so one isn't going to.

(It's usually in the other direction that they alter the figure, surely, not from 12 down to 10?)

I forgot the essential first step!

First, shut the door to keep out cats, small children and passing husbands. They will want to help, and this always means that any task takes about three times as long. (And in the case of husbands also involves discussion about why his way of doing whatever it may be is The Best.)

True. I was thinking that the actual size will be 76 m but they're exaggerating to make it fit expectations.

I'd forgotten about that quilt. Words just fail me.....! 😡So deeply offensive. Maybe this will persuade some that the T has to be not only removed from the LGB but dumped a long distance away.

I had to look up '1312'. Apparently it's numeric code for the acronym ACAB - All Cops Are Bastards.

I thought it stood for Assigned Crazy at Birth
