'Yeah, I'm seeing this more often lately, even from ostensibly supportive people: "Well, I support trans," "Trans are in a really tough place right now," and I fucking hate it. We're people. Half the problem is that politicians and TERFs and the rest don't even conceive of us as actual human beings. There shouldn't ever be a single supportive article, ad campaign, nothing that goes out just using "trans" as a noun. "Trans people" or nothing. Why the fuck are organizations that claim to support us collaborating in our ongoing dehumanization? '
I understand that not that many trans reddit supporters visit MN. But I would like to say I've never used 'trans' in this way, and of course I see you as human beings.
I understand that the narrative is that 'terfs' are 'transphobic'. It would be really good if we could get to the point where we can communicate properly. I have no beef with 'trans' people. Feminists are fighting for women's rights.
We want single sex spaces, and we want gender incongruent children to be accepted as they are, given support based on evidence, and sound reasoning. That is really the beginning and end of it.
Feminists are/were generally allies to gender non-conforming people, for obvious reasons.
Neither trans people, nor feminists, nor even the Good Law Project, are monsters.
