No, I mean specifically the wording.

'Because they have separated 'trans' as The Latest Thing from the people that are actually involved.'

They are using 'Trans' as a stand in for a concept, not talking about people with trans identities. That's how they get to 'I support trans'. They don't mean 'trans people'. They mean the concept.

He seems to make a point of talking FOR people he sees as having less social capital/power than him. Thank goodness for mediocre white men telling us who we are, eh?

Keep It Coming, as far as I'm concerned! The Good Laugh Project has given everyone on this thread a spring in their step - again. I really can't wait for the next instalment.

No it's because it's easier to portray the person they want to show when it's cartoon. With photographic images you either need to select the person modelling from the tiny fraction of people who come close to "passing" (not available in the average "mom's basement" where these things are made) and then choose the angles and filters very carefully, or use photoshop heavily. Otherwise anyone who isn't blinded by sexist belief that gender-coded clothing must override all other signals is going to react to the image as "well that's just clearly a bloke in makeup" or "well that's just clearly a young woman trying to look tough" and in a cartoon it's way easier to pitch the image in the middle ground of "hmm is that supposed to be a male or female?"

The cartoon that @DieWaarheid thought "relevant" really shows how little thought they have given to people's real thoughts and needs. It's not bad for illustrating how a crusty old stick-in-the-mud can learn to accept and celebrate diversity (yay! We are all for diversity and living free and authentic unrepressed lives - and GC people aren't disputing that) but totally fails to even register that being GC is not about being a crusty old stick-in-the-mud with no appreciation for diversity, but is most usually about being a kind hearted, left-of-centre non-judgemental person who celebrates and accepts diversity and upholds the rights of women and girls to single sex spaces and recognises that a female only space that any male person can enter if he says the magic words can never be single sex.

This is about the cartoon posted earlier not the GLP campaign.

We on here try to not align one activist with another but when TRAs post innocently looking cartoons to try and make people who care about their kids as the bad actors, we do need to comment on the sources of such claims and nappy wearing artists with dodgy child based cartoons are not the good eggs in this scenario. It is very dodgy manipulation as pointed out earlier.

Of course they do, every shark attack is simply them giving gender affirming surgery. Just need to iron out some kinks in identifying who is there for the surgery and who is there to support.

I am not a hater of someone who is trans.
Nor I am not a supporter of inappropriate promotions, school visits etc. No.
I have worked with trans people and they were on the whole very troubled, very polite, and lived a life of complete misery.
The conversations around them remind me of the days of homophobia.
