Yet they could do it when Graham Lineker said far less awful things. The Guardian's pretty disgusting too. About three inches away from victim blaming because Ann Widdicombe had a sign outside her house and went on a TV programme that showed the inside of her house.

Does that mean ignore them as long as it's not trans people complaining? That seems to be the norm.

I sometimes wonder if they are trolling the TRAs by reporting using female pronouns but crucially using a close up photo that clearly shows it's a man. Other photos are from further away or slightly profile but these ones are always clearly showing it's a man by going close up

I think his continued employment creates a hostile working environment for women generally, and Tory women in particular.

Been thinking about this some more. One of the big differences with these comments is that they were aimed at someone who has recently died. I was brought up that you dont speak ill of the dead as they are not here to defend themself. It seems to me that much of the outrage around this case arises because it is something that is generally taught to British children. In the language of youngsters - you cant "punch down" any further than insulting the utterly defenceless.

Her comments were ill-judged, of course, but they were at least understandable when you consider the provocation of Widdecombe's literal decades of vile, hateful, rhetoric and her attempts to stamp out trans and gay identities (check your Hansard, people).

No, those comments aren't understandable at all as a first reaction to finding out that someone has died. If you think they are, you need help.
