No, those comments aren't understandable at all as a first reaction to finding out that someone has died. If you think they are, you need help.

Tbf, I think they're absolutely understandable to a certain type of bloke.

Likewise, Ann Widdecombe's values didn't cease being her values because you and Herbert didn't like them.

Pop question. The hateful Widdecombe stood very publicly against Section 28 and called multiple times for it to be repealed (and, by extension, for gay people to lose their legal protections). She compounded this hatred with further assertions that gay people could be "cured".

That this is all a matter of public record is not in question, but what is in question is whether you - personally - agree with it. What does your moral compass tell you?

Because, of course, in your little minds, every trans person is identical to - and equally responsible for the actions of - a single trans person.

Her comments were ill-judged, of course, but they were at least understandable when you consider the provocation of Widdecombe's literal decades of vile, hateful, rhetoric and her attempts to stamp out trans and gay identities (check your Hansard, people).

No they are indicative of male violence.

Facts you don't like don't cease being facts because you don't like them.

Facts such as 'you can't change sex'?

Or just your facts?

Who said anything about "sex"?

Confusing for you, isn't it?

twohotwaterbottles · 13/07/2026 21:37

For me the only comment that any person should be making is how utterly horrific it is that an elderly woman was murdered in her own home. That's it. The end. 😞

True, it does remind me of Rhys McKinnon actually!

Comparing Ann Widecombe to a sexual predator and paedophile is just disgusting.

As I remember it, when Jimmy Saville died the whole truth of his crimes hadn't yet been uncovered and many people (like the then Prince Charles) paid glowing tribute. There are lots of articles in the Guardian for example going on about how great he was.

If you can't change sex then you can't become a women and so you shouldn't be in spaces that are for women only.

Gender is a social construct based on stereotypes.

Confusing for you isn't it.

Surely shome mistake

Ah, you're one of those.

Tell me, when Jimmy Saville died did you also call for respect for the dead? Imbecile.

His crimes weren't widely known till after he died and no, it barely registered he died to me.

I have never on finding out someone died, wished it was as painful as possible, no matter what that person had done. I don't believe that makes me imbecilic.

I don't have any feelings one way or another on homosexuality. Gays don't tend to cause me harm. Hateful Herbert is far more dangerous to women. I hope his employers don't bottle it by keeping him on.

I tried to get through this just for lols to see what "level" I am but they're both such astonishingly crap communicators.

We've had a regular TRA poster who used German names before, might have moved on to Dutch.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/07/2026 21:48

Are we reeaaaallly trying to make the argument that a conservative politician with religious beliefs who held a view which was the same as many in the country at that time is the same as a paedophile predator TV star who also preyed on hospital patients? Really? 🙄

Typical response when you feel yourself unable to actually engage in discourse...
