A report on 'anti gender actors' from Amnesty appears to be a puzzling work of jumbled nonsense and overwrought fiction.

Either they completely fail to grasp what 'gender critical' means, or they are deliberately trying desperately to bundle it in with Xtian rightwing US organisations. Maybe both.

Trans activists have been accusing UK feminists of being rightwing Xtian US fundamentalist funded for years. Sometimes it's funny, more often it's just fucking tedious.

Anyway.

Then they whang on a lot about abortion and well funded US rightwing organisations, including religious groups, etc.

And then ...

The list at the end should give them a wee clue. Dozens of feminist organisations, almost all listed as 'informal', yet lumped in bizarrely with massive US anti abortion groups.

I saw a woman who'd had help from Beira's place posting about this (anonymously) somewhere. She was pretty angry with Amnesty.

Well they are like an internationally constituted charity using their voice and power to persecute and promote / extend persecution of female victims of sexual assault. Why anybody thinks the “reframe your trauma” line is reasonable or will play well is a mystery to me.

I suspect these organisations are so used to being heaped with plaudits for “correct think” and genuinely believe that the majority of people agree with them (well, the non-bigoted ones anyway, and the rest can just be disregarded), that they stopped thinking critically quite some time ago.

As AIUK's Transtanic barrels straight for the nearest iceberg, there's something I think should be discussed a tad more.
The first JKR letter mentioned preservation of AIUK communications in anticipation of a possible legal action. No spoliation AIUK. If legal action results, what comes next? Discovery. Can you imagine how much iceberg there is below the waterline yet to be discovered for AIUK? I'm told the majority of an iceberg lies hidden below.

It's beyond their realm of possibility that they could ever think to say, crikey, the person who wrote that was wrong, we're really sorry. Of course women need female spaces to recover from male violence. Of course they need privacy, dignity, safety when they are vulnerable.

We campaign for it across the globe, for fuck sake, of course we get it.

I hope JKR rejects that apology. It doesn't move the needle in the slightest. It keeps the needle exactly where it is, only now they're more savvy.

There are some arguing that they should be given slack but the TRAs are Not Happy.

Significantly they have also taken down the earlier briefing entitled Like A Snowball that covered te same ground. Presumably Chiara Capraro will also be told not to shoot her mouth off on any more podcasts.

They have also said that they will commission an independent external review to "learn from this moment". This could be significant but it depends who they commission to produce the report & the terms of reference.

It's always the same. The smallest holding to account, because of the law and trans support disappears.

So now, you're going get two sets of transactivists, those at Reddit and those at Amnesty, arguing with one another over how they can better stick it to women to get back into each other's good books.
