Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

Please note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

Someone may have already posted this. NC explained her bundle management process on a legal podcast about 18 months ago. It’s safe to say she’s very organised and knows her way around a spreadsheet.

Dear All, I'm writing to thank you for your amazing generosity and lovely messages, which have been so heartening to read during a sometimes difficult period.
I also wanted to give you an update. Some of you may be wondering what happened as the case has gone quiet. The reason for this is that the tribunal ran out of time midway through the evidence of perhaps the Respondent's most important witness. In order to allow time for the reminder of the witness evidence to be heard, the court will return for a week starting 14th December 2026. I'll also give my witness evidence on behalf of SEEN during this week. Once the witness evidence has concluded there will be a day of closing arguments in the New Year. The final decision will follow some time after that.
We believe this is an incredibly important case. SEEN is intervening not only on behalf of our members in the Civil Service (and its arm’s length bodies) but also to protect the expression of gender critical beliefs in every workplace. SEEN has no resources of its own and we can only afford to participate in this case thanks to you and your incredible generosity. We have now had to increase our target to cover the additional costs of the hearings in December and January, so the ask goes on. But most of all I wanted to thank you for your extraordinary kindness to date - both in words and deeds!
