TT substack: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/tempest-vs-defra-and-rural-payments

Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

Please note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

That difficult second album “Your network is erasing my existence” is controversially and arguably their best one.

lcakethereforeIam · 13/07/2026 23:31

Are they the ones who did 'Whoah, Your Sex is a Nebulous Dog Whistle'?

You deserve all the nonexistent laugh emojis for this

It's good, but didn't have the ambtion of Getting Ahead if the Law, IMO.

You know I think you might be right 🤔

I'm a bit late catching up with all this since Friday, but WRT sick leave, any sick leave in a rolling 4 year and one year period gets added up for pay purposes. So if Tinks already had 6 months full pay in the past 4 years, any further sick leave would put them in danger of going onto nil pay quite quickly. I once had a member of staff who kept going off on sick leave. When I became the manager, they went on sick leave after about a year, but the nil pay date was before the half pay date due to accumulation of leave. I THINK (but am not in work so can't check) that the full pay is a rolling year, but half and nil are a rolling 4 year period.

If ST is long standing CS on the old 6m full pay 6 m half pay the rules were:

  • a maximum of 6 months full pay in a rolling 12 month period
  • 6 months half pay subject to a maximum of 12 months sick pay in a rolling 4 year period.

If you timed it right you could have 3 months sick on full pay every year because of the rolling years. However, the Managing Attendance policy applied correctly should see employees who did this exited from the organisation.

I still think their album No Debate should never have won the Mercury Prize, but when Sex Matters won with It Was Always The Law, I felt vindicated.

Sorry all, my mistake, I wasn't thinking of the Kings of Darvo, it was the Darvo Kings. They're a flamenco guitar trio, well known for their exuberant Fandango

Sorry, me jumping in again. Would somebody mind messaging me with direction towards ED's garden? If it's at 78113 I think I have the right place.

Thank you - my first job tomorrow morning.

anyolddinosaur · 14/07/2026 19:53

@Boiledbeetle that will get deleted probably. I just refer to a garden signposted Chair of SEEN sued for saying 'only women menstruate''
Glad to see it is filling up still.

If you want to be even more hush-hush, you could say 'only women produce red gender fluid' 😉

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 14/07/2026 20:03

Late to the party, but as ever, grateful to all the c&p-ers.
I've been away, with unreliable internet, so I'm afraid I've skim read a lot, but I think I've got the gist of it. Will do some gardening shortly.

As mentioned above, this case hasn't been front page news in the MSM (yet) but Nick Wallis' blog summaries are well worth a read.

It’s not ED, that’s Emma Dunn the doxxer and stalker of SEEN. It’s EDW, Elspeth Duemmer Wrigley 😊 Mustn’t get the opposing sides RSOH (EDW) and WSOH (ED) muddled up.

They've never deleted one of my crowd justice screenshots so far.

Is that the one that goes "Bumba Liar! Bumba Liar"? It was very popular in the Sandie Peggie threads IIRC.

anyolddinosaur · 15/07/2026 07:04

@Boiledbeetle sorry, as links to crowdfunding sites are not permitted and deleted I assumed screenshots were banned too.

For some reason they don't seem bothered by the screenshots. I try not to overthink mnhq logic on these matters as that way madness lies.

The 'logic' might just be that it's easier to automatically check posted links against a list of forbidden sites, than to analyse the content of screenshots.
So if someone were to complain about that screenshot, you could still get in trouble - probably not terribly likely on this thread that hasn't seen a lot of drive-by scolders, but you never know.

Thehorticulturalhussie · 15/07/2026 12:59

I thought The Driveby Scolders were fantastic, what's not to love about a reggae flamenco fusion band? Their critically acclaimed 2nd album Activists And Allies Eat My Shorts was a work of genius and at 9 hours and 27 minutes only slightly too long.

Edited

I posted a thread that included a link to a crowd fund campaign - it was the one seeking a JR into the published EHRC code of practice, by TransLucent - and it was initially delayed, then approved, by MNHQ.
