I’m in bed and I think it’s very unfair to make me hanker after a fish finger sandwich I’m too lazy to get up and make. Especially since I haven’t got any fish fingers and the shops are closed (we don’t do 24 hour Tesco’s over here).

I’m not interested in fish finger sandwiches (halloumi fingers would be another matter) but I could do with some help from a sleep gerbil.

Morning all.

I bought many several packs of gluten-free pitta breads when Aldi briefly had them in stock. I'll need to eat them all (except the ones squeezed into the freezer) by September, and it has now occurred to me that they would be most pleasant for Friday dinner, enclosing gluten-free fish fingers, shredded lettuce, and sweet chilli sauce.

Nice to see @RandomHypatia and @inkymoose - glad you found us! I'm not sure I want to be drinking from the Mojito Bath, however, especially if Boily's slippers have been in it.

Am out most of the day, so will need to catch up later on all the Bluestocking gossip and the Tinkerbell Tribunal. @Boiledbeetle I also have nary a bottle of nail polish. Too much gardening and DIY and hedge cutting means no point in having long nails, so short and bare is where it's at.

I rarely paint my fingernails, Angle, it's my toenails that are pretty colours! Fingernails need to be short for work, and usually bare too.

This is an abomination.

Fish finger sandwiches should just be white bread, mayonnaise and fish fingers. I have tried them with ketchup but even though I love ketchup with chips etc, it was just horribly disappointing.

Fish finger sandwiches with slices of ripe avocado instead of mayonnaise, when no mayo available, were surprisingly acceptable. I would be willing to try tartare sauce. But cabbage or carrot... shiver

(If you want salad wraps, wholemeal wraps with lettuce-y salad and hummus are delicious. Wraps with shredded raw beetroot and baby spinach or other small salad leaves are delicious. I have nothing against salad in wraps or sandwiches. But it shouldn't involve cabbage and shouldn't be allowed near fish fingers.)

Well obviously I'd prefer sliced white bread because it is best, but alas I can't eat it. So must make do.

I've been clothes shopping. I never go clothes shopping. But my default invisilble-but-normal summer garment is a polo shirt, and last year Dunnes inexplicably didn't have any (or if they did they sold out fast) and my older ones were looking very raggedy. I'd seen a few comfortable-looking people wearing new-looks pss lately so went into check, and now have four new ones: green, pale blue, pale pink and dark pink. They were cheaper that I thought so may go in later in the week and buy a few more, the ideal is a minimum of a fresh one every day if it gets hot again.
