Previous thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5546841-tempest-v-rural-payments-agency-tribunal-thread-follow-on-from-chair-of-seen-is-being-sued

TT substack: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/tempest-vs-defra-and-rural-payments

Tempest (a TW) is claiming discrimination, harassment and/or victimisation on grounds of gender reassignment. Central to the claim is the existence of the Sex Equality and Equity Network in the Civil Service (SEEN). SEEN has been granted right to intervene. Parts of the original claim against the co-chair of SEEN (Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley) and another party (Andreas Mueller) were struck out or narrowed. Another claimant, PQ, is no longer part of the case.

I will also note that Elspeth still has a garden in need of seeds and water to support the ability of SEEN to be an intervenor in this case. The claim originated because she said "only women menstruate" and a search with her name and those terms at the usual gardening website should point you to her plot.

It’s nothing confidential, it’s just another written confirmation of judges directions on a matter already discussed in open in court, but still.

I may have received the same. I applied after you so wasn’t on the GDPR breach email.

It’s basically an order about who can access documents which I think is a direction for everyone observing etc.

To err is human, to fuck it up completely requires a spreadsheet😁

How have they managed to fuck up such a small spreadsheet? Or is it sabotage!

Nothing on TT... (Btw I asked, very politely, whether I could try again for observer status given that apparently observer numbers are in practice low, but no reply yet.)

Thank you. I did not know that.

Having to keep a separate spreadsheet of moderator actions is amateur-hour in the extreme (unless the spreadsheet is actually the Yammer system output).

Did anyone mention how the spreadsheet was populated with data?

I’ll pm you if that’s ok

Yes, I was wondering whether it was just a data dump rather than a collated sheet.

Which email did you apply to? I'd also like to try...

@prh47bridge Don’t they need someone who authored the spreadsheet to swear to its contents? Otherwise it stands only as evidence of its own existence, not as to the truth of its contents?

I don’t really understand how the spreadsheet came to be referred to in court in the first place. Why was ST allowed to mention it?

Are we going to miss half an hour of proceedings because the TT person has relied on the judge's info about restarting at 1:15 and is not watching right now?!

I also think I've received the same thing .

Tallisker · 30/06/2026 12:50

I too have had an email.

MyAmpleSheep · 30/06/2026 12:24

They aren’t deleted. They’re just set to “do not display”.

Actually removing data from an online system is a “finger of God” level function, that should be reserved for court orders and the like. Post moderation is far too junior to actually do that.

The right database query should be able to turn up every edit and mod action.

Well this is the thing, does he have access to the back end?

Yeah, I think I’ve jumped the gun here, sorry everyone. I thought my email address was in the open distribution list but I think that’s just how my phone is showing the email.

I’ll report my posts to MN and ask for them to be removed. Sorry for the distraction.

All these emails from the court to posters on the thread - the incompetence is shocking 😮

Are they actually back? That would be an extraordinarily short lunch break for a court if so.

MarieDeGournay · 30/06/2026 12:55

Us NC admirers are becoming increasingly restive. We're going to break into
'🎶Why are we waiting' at any moment😠

I looked up the origin of 'restive', as that was the first time I had ever written that word. It originally meant ' inclined to rest, stay still' and somehow it got completely turned around to mean the exact opposite.

I'm struggling a bit at the moment, the 'I have an argument for every one of your arguments/suggestions' - sounds just like my ex. She had an answer for EVERYTHING so I was always wrong. <shivers>

I was thinking just that! Not about the ex bit but the answer for everything bit. It would appear he has spent the duration of his months of sick leave working on preparation. Surely sick leave does not constitute an opportunity to work on a personal project?

Yes, I was wondering whether it was just a data dump rather than a collated sheet.

That's what I assumed. And the row number mixup could easily be a record id vs the excel rownumber.

Travelodge · 30/06/2026 12:57

Please could someone in the know explain what the presumably coded references to gardening, water and seeds for Elspeth are all about?

We’d still need the court to be told who extracted the data, how the court can be reassured it’s complete and not partial, what exactly the search parameters were, and so on.

We aren't allowed to directly discuss fundraising for cases so a garden is a case with a GoFundMe or similar and seeds and watering refer to donations

Elspeth is Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley, co-chair of a civil service SEEN (I think) who was sued for stating that "only women menstruate
