The hospital won’t be contrite - the collusion of a cult is difficult to come out of.

They will do good work if they see the need I’m sure.

Shedmistress · 17/05/2026 09:15

There is no contrition, they have been forced down this road and in no way would I trust them to 'detransition' anyone, knowing the lies and fraud that they have been spinning for years.

HenriettaSwanLeavitt · 17/05/2026 09:24

Good old Guardian, squeezing in a pro-gender affirming care mother at the end and pushing the suicide narrative. God I hate that paper.
It is a story about detransition. Why couldn't they interview a detransitioner?

spannasaurus · 17/05/2026 09:27

SexRealistic · 17/05/2026 09:12

Anyone know if there is a reverse de-transition process?

Legally how do you correct the record as it were legally?

There's no process to reverse a GRC

I wonder how people manage it - there must be a way.

You can’t be Raven Rainbow Sprinkles forever if you catch yourself on surely?

The majority of trans people don't have a GRC so can just change their name and correct the sex markers on their documents. You don't need a GRC to change the sex marker on passports/driving licences.

I know that - but say if you changed your birth certificate to Skye Special Lady and your birth sex to female.

That’s a big legal gap. I know it’s wasn’t drafted as would offend trans identified people but there was always likely to be people who figured out cos play wouldn’t alleviate their mental issues.

sickofsixseven · 17/05/2026 09:58

I think it's more likely that all this is just a complete fantasy of someone who developed a trans identity as an adult.

Yep. Poster mentioned being in their 30s at least, and from the wording it could be interpreted that they are now older than that. Were they really giving puberty blockers and cross sex hormones to kids that long ago? Doubtful

I think Keira Bell said that the only way to do this is to go through the whole gender recognition process again in reverse. So I assume the detransitioner has to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria related to their transitioned state.

There doesn't seem to be a way to just cancel the GRC as an error and go back to their original identity. This is a fault with the gender recognition process which doesn't allow for people making mistakes. The drafters of the legislation must have been believers in "true trans".

60? Bloody hell. My parents are in their 60s and baffled by all this. They can barely even conceive of "transitioning" an adult , let alone a child. Yet and here we have just a totally normal transitioned since childhood almost pensioner? Sure, Jan. The whole story is laughable.

Having read through the EU cases the early thoughts were the poor chap has cut off his balls so he must be serious. No going back from that.

Now there are fewer GRC trans folks and less surgery as a % of cohort. I object to genital mutilation in all its form so that’s a positive.

But to respect the whole trans experience we must respect reverse transitions. If you can trans into a man and then into a woman and into a man etc it rather shows the insanity of the legislation.

Peak Height Velocity (PHV): The most rapid growth phase occurs between ages 12 and 15, with peak velocity often hitting around 3.5 to 3.7 inches (9 to 9.5 cm) in a single year.

So to grow 7 inches in two years is normal pubertal growth for male puberty. Add on the catch up effect of the cessation of an eating disorder and proper transition and that’s maybe on the lower side.

I went from 4’10” and 80 lbs to 5’5” and 110 lbs in two years.

Peak Growth Spurt (Ages 12–16): This is the period of most rapid change. Boys can gain up to 15lbs to 20lbs in a single 12-month period.

So average male pubertal growth.

The estrogen may have assisted in the weight gain too.

But in absolute terms these are very surprising dimensions suggesting that this person is a minor - which at least explains some of the weird posts

Odd is an understatement.

He apparently underwent puberty and attributes the growth to the female cross sex hormones he was taking.

His puberty growth spurt was down to male puberty.

And he might be 5'5"or 5'4" or, possibly 5'3". He has been different heights on different threads. I don't know but I am absolutely convinced that he is a woman /s

You said the exact thing last month during one of the trademark FWR passive aggressive meta-dialoging sessions. Here is my response to that. Advanced Search is your friend.

Presumably the same reason threads are derailed by personal anecdotes rather than addressing the catastrophic harm that's happened to so many children and young people.

You can accuse me of derailing threads, but there were more than a dozen posts including this one following my last post, meta-dialoging about me in that FWR passive-aggressive cliquey tone.

During this growth stage, testosterone was not male levels and oestrogen was at female levels. But facts never got in the way of a good sex realist yarn.

If in the UK you have a limited grasp of the law. Changing birth certificates are because you have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and EU law said to aid you legal state documents must be falsified to address your mental distress.

Worth a read. Might help you understand how we got here and how such a minority have been facilitated.

I wonder how easily birth certificates are changed back when someone’s mental distress is addressed and they ‘de-transition’?

I didn't change sex in the UK. Or Europe for that matter. My life and family were well established before we moved here.

I would probably have to transition to male to affect any documents here.

I am not a minor. I transitioned as a minor. These two statements can co-exist outside of sex realist belief.

You didn't change sex anywhere in the world. It not being possible.

Transubstantiation of the flesh hasn't been yet evidenced.

Away from the boringly predictable merailing, it's great that psychologically and physically damaged young people finally have some specialist attention. Hopefully decent records will be kept and surgical outcomes improved.
