Do you avoid the bathroom if there is a transwoman?

1000 replies

PeachyDaisy · 06/05/2026 02:05

I’m going to an industry event next week and I know there will be a transwoman attending. Should I use the disabled bathroom to avoid an awkward encounter or just continue to use the women’s and hope not to run into them?

Man is scared of men= serious; men are dangerous, he needs separation from the men AND the company of women to protect him.

Woman is scared of men=a big fucking joke, men are not dangerous they just want to pee.

Exactly, well put.

Plasticdreams · 06/05/2026 19:08

I would expect the crime statistics would be the same as a woman as they are women.

As I have mentioned many times previously in this thread, that I do not agree with men masquerading as women and calling themselves trans. These men are extremely dangerous and damaging to the trans community, and this thread and particularly you, are prime examples of how confused your average Joe is, who has little understanding or experience in this area.

You seem incredibly angry and that’s justified if it is directed at the right people. However to direct it at everyone including the innocent, is extremely unfair. It’s like saying all men are rapists and hating all men on this basis.

Anyway, I won’t be responding to anymore messages on this thread. I’m saddened by mumsnet and will be taking a break. You can enjoy your echo chamber with your extreme views and hatred. Don’t let it eat you up now..

Knowing and saying that "trans women" are men is really really not hate, everyone knows this. Men pretending to be women so they can infiltrate women's spaces, like Refuges, Rape crisis centres, changing rooms, hospital wards and women's prisons - now that really is hate - 100% pure misogyny.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 06/05/2026 21:06

Why on earth would you expect males in dresses to have the same crime statistics as women? That makes no sense at all. They’re men. Just like any other men.

There is nothing to say a man who identifies as a women must wear a dress or shave off his beard. He could look just like any other man.

What the hell OP. Do you struggle with anxiety?

I can’t imagine getting this worked up so far in advance. Unless this is some kind of weird event where the toilets are open plan, won’t you be peeing in a cubicle anyway?

If you are really that anxious then yes, use the accessible loo.

Do you usually gaslight women who are anxious about being forced to use intimate facilities alongside a random male? I would hate it too. Lots of women would feel uncomfortable about it.

You may as well say sod women - let all males in and have mixed sex toilets. Rather than just the special ones who totally announce their male privilege by having no qualms or concerns about trampling all over the boundaries, privacy and dignity of actual women.

PoppinjayPolly · 06/05/2026 22:28

Wearenotborg · 06/05/2026 22:18

but surely the reverse would also be true. Surely the male could just use a cubicle in the gents. Where he belongs.

This, @Namechangeforthisdilemma1 why aren’t you berating the males who demand to be seen as female for not just going to the blokes? Is just peeing! So why can’t he pee with other men?

Quite frankly I don’t give a fuck who else is fine with it.

no one else gets to consent for me.

Do you really think if he was a predator he’d choose to do predatory things at his own work event and risk his career? No. He’d choose to do it in a random public toilet where no one knew him. Mountain out of molehill

I do think so actually. Plenty of men behave exactly like this at work knowing full well they'll get away with it, and trans are a sacred caste who can do no wrong so they're even more likely to know they'll get away with it.

This misogyny is always so evident.

Males who don't want to use the male toilets are..... normal and ok.
Females who don't who to use the female toilets with men, who don't want to be in an intimate space with males...... 'struggle with anxiety'.

FFS, they really can't see how deeply misogynistic they come across. And women and girls are the vulnerable ones, males are not vulnerable and don't attend periods and things like women and girls do!

It reminds me of this meme:

This reminds me of when Ella from MAFS was on Celebs go Dating and kept telling everyone that "she" has a lovely vagina. I don't think I've ever said that to anyone ever. Especially not within 10 seconds of meeting them.

In case you don't know Ella is a postoperative TW.

I heard about that. Don't watch it.
I personally have the most gorgeous vagina ever of course. 😂

I remember Juno Dawson going on and on about his neovag in the guardian and thinking how no real woman would ever do this. A peaking moment.

So the transwoman can use the cubicle in the men’s right? No need for them to be anxious sharing space with other men right?

Gosh you're so right!! I mean no woman has ever been sexually harassed at work by men they've worked with closely and that everyone knows

Including female surgeons in actual operating theatres

Female surgeon operating

Female surgeons sexually assaulted while operating

Trainees are being abused by senior male surgeons, a major analysis given to the BBC reveals.

This makes me think of that woman on twitter who drew the ire of TRAs for pointing out that neovaginas look nothing like vaginas in one of those articles that was meant to be photos of vaginas. 🤭🤭🤭

I see both Tabla and Plasticdreams have left the thread, the former just faded away, I think, the latter did the absolutely classic
' I won’t be responding to anymore messages on this thread. I’m saddened by mumsnet and will be taking a break. You can enjoy your echo chamber with your extreme views and hatred. Don’t let it eat you up now..'
which I think translates as
'I realise I have been engaging in a discussion with women who have had this discussion many times before, and my lack of knowledge on the subject is starting to become glaringly obvious, so I'll say something negative and unoriginal about 'Mumsnet' in general, when in fact I only mean this board, then I'll throw around a few accusations of hatred, and flounce off as if I'm so superior to these hate-fuelled extremists, and I've won the argument'

It's so predictable, isn't it? It appears that there's nothing quite as unbearable as being faced with logic, facts, reasoning, statistics etc.

Helleofabore · 07/05/2026 13:20

I think the term performative ignorance works for some posters on this thread.

The fact that Plastic, kept repeating that people had not engaged with the study they posted while actually ignoring numerous posters pointing out the issues with the study and how fucking irrelevant it was to the point that the poster was trying to make was classic selective reading. I don't even believe that poster understood the paper at all. They must have googled it and then thought no one would know the paper.

Then in their parting shot declared that they expected male people with transgender identities would have the same rate of committing crime as female people, when it had been posted by probably three or four other posters with actual numbers that this was clearly not true. There was no engagement at all with fact.

But then... they themselves declared who was and was not really transgender. It is all too familiar, isn't it? How many posters who claim to be righteous, moral and kind and accuse others of hateful things then are the very people who arbitrate who is and isn't transgender based on their own criteria. In my mind that just is a guilt blocker. I think they understand that they hold harmful beliefs but they try to balance this with 'only the people who are truly transgender' who they hold incredibly stereotypical beliefs about.

Ultimately though, their posts seem to have been aimed at simply shaming and making accusations of hate towards people who they disagree with. It is pure emotion that holds their arguments together.

@Plasticdreams

I do not agree with men masquerading as women and calling themselves trans.

No, not do we. That’s kind of the whole point. You’ve just inadvertently used a phrase that could have (and probably has) been uttered by many a gender critical person 😂

How can we ascertain the difference between someone who calls themselves trans, and someone who is trans? Aren’t they the same thing? I mean, when someone tells you who they are, you should believe them, according to gender ideology.

Or is there perhaps a blood test, a scan or a psychological assessment that can tell us if someone is truly trans? No? Course not, because it’s a social construct isn’t it?

Honestly, it’s like you all have the IQ and EQ of a walnut - I used that description intentionally. I do believe that there are men masquerading as women to gain access to women’s spaces - I don’t disagree…
How would one know the difference if someone is genuine trans or not? Well, first you would have to recognise that there is a difference, but none of you seem to have the capacity to do that - so let’s tar everyone with the same brush shall we. Where have we seen this before?
Help! A brown person raped someone! All brown people… bad.

The human species is evolving and it’s too late for your closed minded opinions. You can protest and fight back as much as you like, but your bigotry will not survive. You will eventually die along with your narrow minded views, and the younger generation will take over with much more empathy and understanding. Keep being angry if you wish but it’s not going to get you anywhere.

I have trauma from a rape so violent if I describe it it is deleted for being too upsetting for others to read.

I don’t give a fuck if someone calls themselves a trans woman, banana man or Hong Kong fucking phooey. I don’t care if they’re brown, blue, purple or green.

I don’t want any men in women’s single sex spaces. And a trans woman is a man, legally, in the U.K. and I am very fucking glad I don’t live in Australia.

Yet you still can’t answer a basic question and revert to word salad. How original 🥱

Ps. How are they evolving into trans women exactly? Is this about the balls going walkabout and turning into ovaries with associated physical scaffolding on the way?
