feminism or transphobia?

Long time lurker of this forum, first time poster.

I have read through many of the threads on here and I have to say there are lots of views that I find quite shocking.

There almost seems to be two sides of the ‘gender critical’ movement on here that I can see.

The first seems quite reasonable. They wish to have protections in place for women and their rights. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree (e.g. trans folk in toilets, transgender prisoners etc) they are stating a view based on safety and women’s rights.

The second bunch are the ones who I find myself disagreeing with, and who post things that I personally consider as transphobic. Some examples of this would be: refusing to use someone’s pronouns or citing being transgender as a mental illness which needs to be cured.

I feel that the first group are genuinely feminists who are concerned with women’s rights, and feel as though they need to speak out on their own concerns. The second group are masquerading under the pretence of feminism to say hateful or controversial things.

I am interested to hear other views on this point (and I’m sure there will be a lot here who don’t agree with me!)

How old are you? Five? Id put money on me having years experience of being able to spot sexism. Including yours. You know like the bit demanding we use wrong sex pronouns otherwise toys will be thrown out the pram and no one will be our friends. Seriously.

the pronouns thing is not my battle, ive said many times i do not care, what you call people does not impact my life - which is apparently rude. Ok

Afford you? Where in there do I say you must call people by their chosen pronouns? I comment on society, saying you get labelled and judged for these beliefs. Is that not true?
I then say you’d struggle to get a job in a public facing role. This board is full of threads about appeals because people won’t choose chosen pronouns.

I would not want to hire any one like you guys. Your egos are absolutely massive, none of you actually listen and you extrapolate a lot of things that aren’t actually there. This alone would be a disaster in my line of work where you need evidence for every single claim you make.

If you need evidence then you’d be better off with people who will not be compelled to go along with a lie. But you do you. I’m sure I’ll get over not being offered a job in your line of work.

Mattala, you have been at this for 3 days now. You are making less and less sense with each post and appear to be escalating emotionally. Step away and do something else for a while. If you want to talk about the link you posted, then start your own thread. If you want to argue coherently with us, then do what most of us did: spend a few weeks reading threads first, so you don't jump in with uninformed, half-baked opinions that don't withstand even mild scrutiny.

I think that's sensible advice.
