Welcome to the Bluestocking women's pub. Men are directed to the Staunch Ally just down the road. Otherwise all are welcome. Pull up a chair, give your order to the Wait Gerbil or the Gerbil behind the bar.

Don't forget to name change if you wish to.

Oh, so we're allowed plasma balls at the Bluey? The capybouncers wouldn't let my friends in when they came to visit me this afternoon. I had to take a stroll up to the Staunch Ally.

Is anyone else using gemini? It's changed.

I use Gemini. I'm wondering when it changed format from square pictures to letterbox ones. I noticed it recently, comparing new pictures with recycled ones.

Tractors - why?

Because.

Oh my goodness! I thought the BS had gone quiet. Turns out I slept through the move and woke up alone in the old place! There's missing the bus then there's MISSING THE BUS!

I'm just skimming through at the moment - family stuff, but I wanted to wish Cake all the best for her second op today.

I think the sleep gerbils have been taking notes from the Bluestocking gerbils and are unionising. Wonder what 'perks' they will ask for?

Magpiecomplex · 27/03/2026 07:58

Yes, good luck Cake! 🐫Flowers

MarieDeGournay · 27/03/2026 08:31

Thinking of you today CakeFlowers
Just because you can't actually see a troupe of cheerbils performing their famous 'Go Cake!' routine does not mean that there is not a troupe of cheerbils performing their famous Go Cake!' routine - they are there, dancing their little hearts out on our behalf💙

PastaAllaNorma · 27/03/2026 08:46

I hope it goes well, Cake.

No sleep gerbils for me, either. The mask on my CPAP has a crack, so it whistled and wheezed and woke me up.

EdithStourton · 27/03/2026 08:52

All the best for today, Cake.

MarieDeGournay · 27/03/2026 08:52

The Sleep Gerbils apologise. They are sorry if anyone was upset. They say 'this is not who we are'. They ask for time to use this as an opportunity to learn and grow. They are taking time away from social media...
😐

No sleep gerbils for me either. That'll teach me to complain about them.

I've got my surgery today. Hopefully it'll go well, I won't be kept in and they'll remove enough of me this time🤞. Honestly, who'd have boobs! Nothing but trouble.

I'm beginning to wonder if the sleep gerbils have unionised.

Hope you are back home enjoying a cuppa and putting in your sleep gerbil performance rating before you know it x

Chersfrozenface · 27/03/2026 09:00

Tractors - why?

As Magpie says, because.

I love watching farm machinery. I'll sit down mid-dog walk to watch a combine churning up and down.

Walked B&B this morning, and the tractor blokes were back at it by 7.35 when the field came into view.

Magpie, you might know this... the OSR is already in full flower here. Is this breeding for an earlier season, climate change or both?

I hope you're getting through the 'stuff' OK, Damson.

A team of cheerbils has been appointed to support you, they are doing their 'Go AuntieMsDamsonCrumble!' routine -

'Give me an A!'
'A!'
'Give me a U!'
'U!'
'Give me an N!'
'N!'
Give ma a T!'
'T!'
'Give me an I!'
.....
.....
maybe you should go and pop the kettle on, this may take some time😁

MarieDeGournay · 27/03/2026 09:17

Wondering how you're doing, SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius, hope you are OK.
The cheerbils have worked out a rota system for your cheer routine:

'Give me an S!'
'S!'
'Give me a D!'
'D!.'
.....
<hand over pom-poms>
...
'Give me a W!'
'W!'
.......
<physio is called>

'Give me an F!'
'F!'
.....
<magic sponge is deployed>

But they won't give up, Woley, Bluestocking spirit is unquenchableSmile

Absolutely a shift system. In serried ranks, front rank does a few letters, peels off to either side, skips/marches/trudges to rear, new front rank carries on, repeat as necessary.

MyrtleLion · 27/03/2026 09:37

Best of everything today, cake.

Many apologies! The Sleep Gerbils were at mine last night helping me get 8 hours!

Makes a huge difference from the four hours a night or so that I was getting in hospital and while on antibiotics.

Apologies also for @ChristmasStars. There was a lot of lingering at the end of the last thread and I was nearly forced to shout, "haven't you all got homes to go to?" before everyone drifted off. This may have led to you not realising we'd moved.

But we're glad you're here 💙

You've given this a lot of thought, haven't you?😁

I think you've earned the right to use the 'Glittery Cheerbil Routines Clipbboard + Pen With Pink Feathery Top', Cher - all future deployments of the Cheerbils are officially under your command and control!

ChristmasStars · 27/03/2026 09:57

Thank you @MyrtleLion I'm on a dog walk now but will catch up later.

And a whistle, please.

It needn't be solid gold, this titanium one will be fine.

Damn, image didn't load. Bear with...

Perhaps not quite as far South as Edinburgh, Janet. I'm pretty sure this particular sloth lives in Stomachbrae, somewhere around the Horn(e).

My cousin lives in the re-make Tannochbrae. Parking is challenging.

There are some posts and pictures since I faded out last night which are incomprehensible, is it just me?ConfusedGrin

Apologies I seem to have been hogging the sleepgerbils who weren’t at Myrtle’s. Either that or DHs lurgy (which of course I’ve now got albeit so far without the secondary chest infection) coshed me early and kept me under save for a wee and straight back to sleep until the bin men woke me shortly after 7am. That was ok as we had to get up to take a car in for servicing. I’m grateful for the bin men for the job they do so only really mind them waking me when it’s accompanied by that “oh shit we forgot to put the bins out” realisation.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/03/2026 10:23

Good luck Cake! Hope it all goes smoothly.

So true! The snow has gone currently but we do occasionally get snow in the first half of April. No spring flowers yet :-(.

However, today I am going to the art museum (rather a good one here) with a friend because there is an annual “Art in bloom” exhibition, where people display flower arrangements designed to echo particular works of art, next to the artwork they are echoing. It’s always lovely. And then we’ll have lunch at a rather nice Japanese restaurant, so a good time had all round.
